So many were left shocked by the gruesome details surrounding the death of three year old Scotty Mcmillan and as a community continues to remember scotty, theyre also honoring his brother, ryan. The Community NearChester County close to the story of ryan and Scotty Mcmillan is damaged. Today we met a woman who says she is trying to change that. Looking for a way to heel. It really has torn the community up. Reporter if you live in Chester County at the very least youve probably heard the story of scotty and ryan mcmillan. For some here, its paralyzing. The whole story has been like heart wrenching the last couple days i think for the whole community. Reporter prosecutors say the boys were victims in a series of horrifying beatings and torture sessions at the hands of their own mother and her boyfriend. Three year old scotty died. Sixyearold ryan is now staying with an aunt. My husband and i have just been thinking about we wish we could do something so when we heard about this, you know, we jumped on the opportunity. Reporter opportunity came sunday in the form of a flatbed truck. I immediately probably startd to tear up. Organizer janice baker self described motorcycle mom with the infamous riders of Chester County got her boys off the road and in a Police Station parking lot collecting donations for ryan. They got together with me and helped post everything online and really just brought a lost people here day. Baker estimates theyve collected close to 2,000 in cash. As for the flat he bed its filled. Necessities will go to the family immediating, toys will be held so ryan can have christmas. As a community we love him and were so sorry of what he witnessed and what he had to go through. Reporter it may be small against the grief ryan and his family now face but donors say janice is giving a chance at hope and for this community, a way to heel. Its amazing. Its the best feeling ever. I mean, its the best way you could spend sunday. Its perfect. Reporter the mother, jillian tait and her boyfriend Gary Fellenbaum both face charges of first degree murder. Well, turning to our weather now, prepare yourself for a bit of a rollercoaster ride of temperatures. Its going to get unseasonably warm before the bottom falls out. It was hard for me to get that out. Meteorologist Justin Drabick joining us to talk about the ups and counts week. I think thats why it was so hard justin. Im thinking about the downs already. I understand. It is a tough forecast. Its so typical around this area this time of year and today actually ditch that heavier coat this afternoon if you were outside. It wasnt bad in the sunshine. Look at that. Temperatures, these were our highs, mid and upper 50s. Thats pretty much where we should be for this time of year. Were going to warm it up over the next few days. Wait until you see tuesdays temperature. Right now somewhat comfortable, 54 degrees officially at the airport in philadelphia, tra it in allentown, line in reading. Some of the suburbs cooling down nicely. Quakertown 41 degrees this hour. Mid 40s in mount holly. Northeast philly hanging onto 50 degrees. Generally a clear sky. Theres some high thin clouds especially to the south and east but overall our temperatures are going to be able to drop tonight. Nothing terribly cold. We should make it down into the lower 40s for center city, some 30s in the suburbs but look at tomorrow. Really nice day. Looks like we should break the low 60 for philadelphia, near 60s at the shore. Two people are critically injured after after an alleged family dispute on summit avenue in paoli last night. He told officers he was shot by a familiar member. John richard we are right. Police found berry outside of a another house just down the street. We spoke to one neighbor who saw the whole thing from her window. That was the first time i heard the pow, pow, pow. I saw a gentleman walking up the street in the process of this shooting incident and i thought that was kind of weird, so i got back on the phone and i called 911 again because i saw the gentleman standing on the porch and that freaked me out. As officers a approached berry he turned the gun on himself. He and the victim were rushed to paoli hospital. Now Philadelphia Police are looking for leads after a homicide in hunting park. A woman was found shot to death on the 1600 block of rowan street last night. She hasnt been identified just yet but its believed she was about 30yearold. So far investigator its dont have many details at all on a suspect or a motive in this case. A Philadelphia Police officer is recovering tonight after his cruiser collides with a pickup truck and bursts into flames. Take a look there. That was the scene just after 6 oclock last night at 28th and tasker in south philadelphia. An eyewitness had to pull the 17th district officer from that police car. Investigators now say there was only one person in the other vehicle, the driver. He suffered head trauma and is currently in stable condition. No charges are expected to be filed. The Investigation Continues into what sparked this fire at south jersey mowers in maple shade, new jersey. The building was destroyed. The owner, who lives upstairs, awoke to these flames just after 4 oclock saturday morning. She was rushed from the 600 block of styles avenue to the hospital. Sixth annual lemon run benefiting alexs Lemonade Stand kicked off sunday morning in fairmount park. About 2,500 people participated. Great family event. We have a kids dash for younger kids where they do a 100yard race an lost families run and walk together. Reporter liz scott is the coexecutive director of the Organization Better known as alexs mom. Alex was diagnosed with cancer before her first birthday. She died at the age of eight in 2004 leaving behind a legacy. Alex started this organization basicly in our front yard at the Lemonade Stand and all she wantd to do was make a difference for kids with cancer. What weve learned from this is that theres a great support system and theyre here for us and its made a big difference. Reporter the berwyn family lost their eldest son a rare form of brain cancer. They participate no raise awareness and fundy funds. You do it for all the kids that cant do it im fortunate enough that i can and its easier to take that kind of thing for granted. Reporter Karen Fitzgerald is the mother of a cancer survivor and says its important to pay it forward. Its happening to so many other families and just to come back and really share that experience with folks and just really unite together to give back to a fantastic cause like alexs lemonade. On november 9, 1989 an announcement by a senior communist official set off the chain of events that brought down the most potent symbol of the cold war. Earlier today a large crowd held a moment of silence for the 138 people who died along the wall. And here at home, the German Society pennsylvania marks the anniversary. They unveiled an original piece of the berlin wall in their garden on Spring Garden street in philadelphia. Its one of the last available pieces the German Government recently gave them as part of the German Societys 250th anniversary. Now, americans held hostage in north korea have been reunited with their families. Officials say nothing was given to north korea in exchange for their release. Matthew miller and kenneth bay touched down last night. Miller was charged with espionage after ripping up his tourist visa and then demanding asylum. The temperature trend is going to be all over the place. Were actually on the uphill climb now. Average High Temperature should be at 58 degrees. Were going to be slightly above average on monday. Tuesday and wednesday well above average into the mid 60s especially for veterans day but then watch what happens at the end of the week. Well below average as well see some arctic air trying to build into the Delaware Valley. 54 degrees at the airport now. 51 trenton. 38 chilly degrees in mount pocono but we zoom out, theres nothing terribly cold so no signs of cold air just yet. Were going to have wait until the end of the week if youre looking for the colder temperatures. Pretty quiet on storm scan3, little area of High Pressure to our south keeping the skies mainly clear. Some showers and clouds well off shore will keep it dry pretty much for the next few days so were setting up to see a dry quiet weather pattern. At the end of the week we get a cold front coming through wednesday. That front should come through dry. Behind it its got cold air. Were 23409 going to see the core of the oldest air. Thats going to hang back out across the Northern Plains but temperatures go a good 10 degrees below average by the end of the week. High pressure over us for monday, low 60s for highs. Enjoy it. Plenty of sunshine. Even milder tuesday, veterans day, plenty of sunshine, mid 60s. Go a good five, maybe even 10 degrees above avenue flood watch some spots. Heres that front i was talking about that comes through wednesday. Could come through dry, maybe a few clouds. Early in the day we should reach our highs in the low 60s but its thursday youll start to feel the difference as far as the temperatures go. A lot out of sunshine tomorrow. Same deal tuesday, maybe a few fair weather clouds. Overall its just a warm day. Wednesday that front will move on through, well clear things out behind it and then well start to surge in that colder air f youre looking for warmer temperatures youll enjoy the next few daims upper 50s to around 60 for the afternoon highs on monday. Monday evening not too bad for the eagles game, temperature in the lower to mid50s for kickoff. Tuesday look at that, mid 60s for the High Temperatures tuesday afternoon. So, overnight just a few clouds around. It will be chilly, 42 for the low for center city. Some 30s in the suburbs. Mild day monday, mostly sunny, were up to 61 degrees, south breeze at 10 miles per hour. I mentioned monday night game, eagles 8 30 kickoff, 53, not bad there. Youll need the heavier coat by the end of the game at least it stays dry. Mid 60s tuesday. Wednesday well get to the lower 60s with that front coming through and then the wind kicks up and we usher in colder air. 40s return only for the highs. Thursday, friday and saturday could be a rain or snow shower late thursday night and we could be dealing with rain showers later on sunday night. Next saturday november 15th from 12 until 3 at the Plymouth Meeting mall come out for the kid caster event. Bring your kids they can do weather and maybe take my job one day.
