So we will talk about it, this morning, weather watchers reporting some Cool Temperatures still, from some of the backyards. Check this out. Go north of the city here, where it is 29 degrees up in perkasie this hour. John jenkins house. Hes got full sunshine. So that number should rapidly change within the next hour or so. Couple of spots warming up into the 40s, were seeing right now, just north and west of the philadelphia, lou, 42 in eagleville, also full sun, what we are dealing with today, nothing but sunshine today. Inland new jersey pinelands area, see a lot of 20s, browns mills, 26 degrees at mary anns house, once again, in the sunshine. And feeling the chill south in delaware, dolores lee in newark checking in with also 29 degrees, so, a big jump in the temperatures today. Going from 20s in some spots, close to 70 for a lot of locations, lets take you up to berks county, another cool spot, in the sun, at 35 right now. Cut town area middle school. Calm winds, the reason for the drop in the temperatures, so no winds to really mixup the air little bit. The cool dense air fills in at the surface, frost, certainly due out on the grass. So lets talk about where should we be for this time of year . Average high temperature, 62 degrees. We were at 60 yesterday. So pretty close. Month from now should be low 70s, and two month from now, into the low 80s, we will hit these numbers, get close to this today. And we will be early june style probably on tuesday with highs in the low 80s, a was from the water, so yes, not beach weather just yet. But you can go to the shore, enjoy the sunshine for sure. Water temperatures chilly in the fours, so coastal temperatures stay in the 60s. But look at storm scan3, nothing, High Pressure just park over the midatlantic, northeast, nice and dry, stays like that for the next few days, check it out, a late spring pattern, as far as the temperatures go, as long as the High Pressure is here and just off shore, we get southwest wind. That bridges in the warmth. So you can see the warmth expanding all the way up into new england. There is a front here on tuesday. And it a props us from the west. Very slowly, not a lot of moisture with it, maybe stray shower in here later tuesday evening, into the overnight hours. Thats really our best chance for any precipitation in the near future. So a lot of sun the next few days, temperatures in the 70s certainly monday and potentially some low 80s for highs, on tuesday. Highs today, upper 60s, and again, not surprise if some locations do hit 70 away from the water, just because we have full sun today. Nice southwest breeze, then tonight, not quite as cold. With that push of warmer air moving in with the south wind. So maybe some mid upper fours, some of the colds he is spots, and then tomorrow, look at that, upper 70s, for high temperatures, even approaching 70 up in the poconos, dont see why the mountains couldnt even hit 07 e cooler right at the coast into the lower 60s, bus tuesdays forecast, 81 degrees. That will make it the first time we did hit 80 since october 202,016th. How about the overall trends . The pattern for the next couple of weeks, between april a lot of warmth over the eastern half of the united state, looks likes likely above above average, again, cooler days, but then it all averages out to above average. Seventy for the high today. Noticeably warmer with the cold or lighter winds, then tonight, mostly clear, not as cold, 52 for the low, 40s out in the suburbs, nice looking seven day if you like it mild, good car wash weather with the dry weather, 70 today. Seventyeight monday. Eightyone tuesday. Still seven on wednesday. Cooler by the end of the weekment maybe shower on friday. But jan mid upper 60s, still above average for this time of year. So come cyst tent spring weather coming at us finally. And i love the car wash advice, i always wash the car then it rains. Im ball that. Perfect time willing, thank you, justin. Thats all for sports, im pat gallen, have a great day. And still to come this morning right here on cbs3 Eyewitness News. Whats that dog wearing . And why is he wearing it . Animal advocate Carol Erickson tells us how it works and why it may keep him calm. Thats Eyewitness News continues. Back now with the pet project, Carol Erickson, animal advocate with the pennsylvania spca here with very cute adopt recall this morning. This is cuey, little five month old puppy. One of the things you may be noticing is that huey is wearing something, thats what we want to talk about today. And hes wearing a thunder shirt. And you may have heard about this product. It is something that applies calming pressure to your animal. Does it work or not . Thats the big question. Yes. I get differing answers from people that i actually talk to about it, but tell you what, they did real interesting study. Temple, the animal behavior researchers that everybody has heard of, she was part of study that they did on these thunder shirt, she found they do significantly decrease the anxiety in your pet. They lower the heart rate. And other stress behaviors. Now, here is a dog, morris, at the pennsylvania spca that was adopted wearing a his thunder shirt, they do use these at the pennsylvania spcat applies a moderate pressure to the soft tissue, and pay arent that does something to the nervous tis tell, that sort of thing, calms the animal n this thunder shirt study they studied just separation anxiety, so if you leave and your pet goes crazy, this was something that apparently worked, because it helped the animal, it also helped just generalize anxiety. Like thunderstorms, just anxiety in general . In fact in the study they didnt look at thunderstorms. Interesting. But it leads me to couple every other items also for sale. I think maybe everybody should google it on their own. There is a ton of information. You get a lot of Sales Information as well when do you that. But one called the storm defender cape. It is almost got metallic line thing, supposedly to be used and has had some success according to some of the studies done on it, yes, youre in a thunder shirt, youre supposed to be calm here, honey, and it is because it has got sort of metallic lining, it helps discharge the static electricity that builds up before a thunderstorm that can really make your pet kind of very, very anxious. Do we see them go to specific places in the house because of stat snuck. The static can build up in their coat. So during thunderstorm even before the thunderstorm starts you may fine your dog or cat trying to get in the car with you, or go to the bathroom, and get near the pipes, or get near a toilet or tub or sing. Thats because those electrically grounded things can discharge the static electricity. So storm defender cape, if it works for your pet it, takes couple of times, then they start to associate the fact im in this cape. Blah blah blah. Has to be used all of these specially the thunder shirt and the anxiety wrap, which is i think the almost the original one, that apparently does also work for thunderstorms they have to be used right, they have to be sized right, have the right amount of pressure. If you drape one on that apparently will not work. Cant just drape a blanket over . No, yes, it has got to have then of course know it will be get to go upper time. Dont want to leave them something out in this. Storm defender cape you cannot use if you are leaving a house, dog with separation anxiety. Lots to look at on that. Carol you know avenue cat. My cat is scared by thunder, would it work on cats . They have them for cats. Okay. So the same thing . The thunder shirt, that calm pressure that apparently works and works on people, works on pets. So and i thought if i hugged him that would be okay . That probably would help some too. But this is more scientifically designed to go to the right spot. Weve got some adoptable animals before we talk little more chewy. Look, you love cat, i dont blame you. Manny is a gorgeous cat, look how big manny is. But hes 15 years old, he was adopt in the 2001 and his owners brought him back now. They have obviously fed him. He is reportedly very well loved. And he is in search of his forever family. And maybe a diet food. Twelve year old female domestic long haired cat, she came in as victim of cruelty. You know, all of these animals would love to be loved. So, she would do best in a home with people who understand that. And dutchess, this dog is ready to go into a fabulous home. Has the best rating of all at the pennsylvania spca. This is dutchess. Four year old goal end retriever mix, her owner no longer keep her, apparently house trained, all need little reminder. But look for dutch he is, if you are a wonderful, wonderful pet owner, i want you to get dutchess. Do not get a plant. And huey is wonderful. Hes just great doing. Finds him in erie today.
