We will check with you then, back to you. This morning a neighborhood is in shock, a man is stabbed to death in Rittenhouse Square. Kyw news radio reporter cherri gregg is live at the scene, and cherri, we are learning more about what happened. Reporter yes, we just spoke to captain Nicholas Brown, just a few moments ago and he has confirmed that a 24 yearold victim was stabbed to death, here outside of 1830 a luxury high rise condominium building here, near 19th and writ Rittenhouse Square. What he said was it began as a fun night likely for st. Patricks day weekend, the 24 yearold victim was with friend, walking through the park when a some type of a argument ensued and it ended up with him being stabbed. Now police are not releasing all of the details just yet but they are pulling surveillance video, and we understand that the man was rushed to Hahnemann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead and heres Philadelphia Police captain Nicholas Brown with more details. Witnesses account he was stabbed across the chest area. Then he fled the area. He was going southbound on 19th street and eastbound on manning street. We do have some video footage of the incident that were looking at right now. Reporter and there are multiple surveillance videos, here. He a said that was one good thing about this area in Rittenhouse Square there are multiple cabbing use and they do have have images of the suspects, the details description is limited at this point, and other very few details, on what he looked like but they are looking a at that video, we saw earlier, from family members of the victim, they were here, they were visibly emotional and no identity as far as who the victim is, has been released a at this point, as they searched for that killer. New this morning a teenage girl has been killed, and police say she was not the target just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It happened on the 400 block of southward street around 1 10 last night. The Authorities Say the 18 yearold girl was sitting on her step when she was hit the by one bullet. So far there are no suspects in custody. A fire fighter has been hospitalized and three pets have died, after an overnight fire in gloucester county. It happened on kings high waste and East Greenwich township. A fire fighter was taking to the Health Center and is expect to be okay. The three people inside the home, were not hurt, and cause remains under investigation. A Chester Police officer is shot during some sort of a pursuit and as details emerge, tensions are running high between Law Enforcement and the community. Twentyfive year veteran captain alan davis is in stable condition, this morning, the incident happened, saturday afternoon by parker and union street. Police were pursuing the vehicle matching description of the stolen one, Authorities Say that someone in the the car began shooting at police, police returned fire, killing one person, and then injuring another. Captain davis was rushed to crozer. Unfortunately we have a situation where someones actions, caused, a terrible incident. Everybody came out of their house, slapping on the cops trying to figure out why they are not telling us anything. Reporter after the shooting tensions on the the street escalated and police had to become physically involved telling cbs3 they had bottles and rocks thrown at them. Police are investigating whether the vehicle they will were pursuing was, in fact, stolen. A pilot creates a security scare at Philadelphia International airport where he leaves his handgun inside a bathroom. The the gun was inside of a toiletry bag and when he returned to retrieve the bag, it was gone. The airport delays all flights while authorities searched for the gun. Investigators determined that an airport janitor stole the bag. The fact that they got the gun is great, but, you know, we got to take care every day. I travel all over the world and you have to be on it, and if you see something, say something. Incident caused 16 flights to be delayed for an hour, airport janitor is charged with theft and other charges. It should pass through our region during the day on monday and then finally exit our region early Tuesday Morning. We have a couple of stray showers possible, early this morning, northern delaware, parts of the chester county, and then maybe to extreme south jersey but bulk of the rain should move in later this afternoon after 3 00 oclock. So sunday afternoon through Tuesday Morning we are under the gun for rain at times, steady rain, monday morning through about midday. About a half inch but some locations could pick up an inch of rainfall throughout the entire system and then watch out for slower monday commutes especially morning commute on monday when we can see steady rain. That wind will be off of the ocean so it will be cooler. Heres the reason why we are having this rain threat until tuesday this low does not move much at all over the next 24 hours. It is still over yes valley. We have a front over yours. Pockets of rain moving through the first half of monday, still showers, for monday afternoon, monday night, and then finally Tuesday Morning, the storm will move off shore, and still left with some cloud, maybe a stray shower, early tuesday, and then finally we will see clearing skies. It all happened saturday afternoon by parker and union street. Police were pursuing the vehicle matching the description of the stolen one, and now according to Police Someone in the car began shooting at police, they returned fire, killing one person and injuring another. Now tensions are running high between Law Enforcement and the community, and in the wake of the shooting. A new Jersey State Police say a well known basketball player was involved in last weeks car crash, that led to the death of the state trooper. Due juan wagner was a camden high star who had a pro career cut short by injuries. Wagners car was rear ended machine night by another vehicle in west deptford. Trooper sean cullen responded to the crash and was fatally struck by a passing car. Wagner was treated for minor injuries and the crash remains under investigation. Loved ones can say good bye to new jersey state trooper sean cullen, a viewing will be held today from 2 00. That is tomorrow morning from 8 00 to 11 30 at Saint Borromeo Church in cinnaminson. The funeral will happen at noon time, followed by intern. At lake view memorial park. Community comes together to restore ground at lankenau Environmental Science magnate high school. It is absolutely a shame what they did to the ground. To this was outrageous, we have never seen anything like this. Completely shock. Reporter some students like john are part of the botany club a lot of hard work was really put the in to outside and for someone to destroy it like that, have all of the hard work vanish it hurts. Yes Philadelphia Police say a 24 yearold man was stabbed, here right outside of an 1830 luxury high rise condominium building here at the corner of 19th and Rittenhouse Square. Police say that the vick them was with a few friend, celebrating st. Patricks weekend and so who got in an argument with another man who slashed him in the chest area with a knife. The suspect fled south on 19th street and east on manning. The victim was rushed to Hahnemann Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3 30 this morning. Homicide detectives and crime scene unit wrapped up here after collecting items on the scene, including a coat Good Samaritan used to try to save the victim. Those items police say and others surveillance of that stabbing are gone but shock remains. The heres captain Nicholas Brown. This is relatively, doesnt happen in this type of area. This is a relatively safe area. You know, we are looking at video footage. There are many cameras that we are discovering in the area. That is good thing about this area we have a lot of video footage of what happened in the area. Reporter back out here live police are looking at that video but at this point they only have released a vague description of the suspect, and as you can see, i mean right now it is pretty quiet here in Rittenhouse Square but folks are out walking their dogs, they are taking morning jogs and they expressed shock at this this type of thing could happen here in this community. People who appear to be family of the victim arrived, early, and were visibly shaken by hearing that the 24 yearold man was killed, and no word just yet on his identity as police try to figure out how and why this occurred and try to track down that killer.
