And then we hit 84 degrees, this afternoon, we have zero weather problems coming up for us, and i mean, zero, so let me give you another look at the temperature, 84 degrees for the afternoon high temperature. This i just stop, because there might be one or two clouds, thats it. Thats it all day. And we run this all the way out through tomorrow morning when a few more clouds may be coming into the picture, but still, things are being look pretty good. Not really going to be dealing with much in the way of humidity either. Weve got dew points that continue to be low. Weve got skies that continue to be bright, winds, light, just an ideal day. We begin this morning with breaking news, a fire rips through a mt. Airy Apartment Building, send too long people to the hospital. The fire officials on the scene say they smelled gasoline, and the fire is being called suspicious. Syma chowdhry picks up the story live from the scene, same, a good morning. Reporter good morning, todd, residents of the Apartment Building behind me woke up to some scary moments, earlier this morning, not one but two fires were set on the 7400 block of stenton avenue. This happened around 2 30 this morning, at the Chestnut Terrace apartments. One fire was started in a hallway on the first floor, the other, also, in a hallway, but on the third floor. Officials say gasoline was used beaming this incident suspicious. One person has been taken into custody for questions, and this is what fire officials had to say. Two small fires, one on the first floor and one on the third floor. Right now the police are questioning a suspect. Two people were also taken to the hospital. Septa bus crash is under investigation this morning, on friday, a woman was crossing the street with her son in south philadelphia, when she was struck and killed. Her son survived the crash. Eyewitness News Reporter Noel Mcclaren has the story. Didnt really work out for her, so reporter Ronald Dejesus says telling his eight year old grandson that his mother couldnt be saved as she was struck by a septa bus was one of the hardest thinks he is her to do. He visited the spore where his daughter sheena white was struck to pay his respects and to be with his grandson who was walking with her when she was run over and killed. To lose a child, you know, it is like, you know, you dont want to see your child leave this earth before you, i mean, and you want it the other way around. It is just terrible. Police say the 29 year old mother was crossing washington avenue with her son by her side when she was hit. When officers arrived they say found the little boy had fallen to the grounds but was trying to save his mother. He was trying to render aid to his mother, and he was sitting there with his mother when they got her. Dejesus said his grandson is still in the hospital recovering from bumps, bruises, and possible concussion sustained from the incident. Hes also learning to adjust to living without any parents. All we can do is hold him and tell him, you know, it is going to be okay. As the port to comes in from the community, they wonder how such a tragedy could have possibly happened. Im definitely going to have a lot of questions. I know that theyre doing their investigation. She had my grandson with her, so i know that she was using precaution. Reporter police say theyre reviewed video recording on the bus as part of their investigation. Were in south philadelphia, Noel Mcclaren, cbs3, Eyewitness News. A little girl is fighting for her life after being attacked by a pitbull inside her own home. It happened on add lean drive in newark, delaware, saturday. The girls 15 year old sister fought off the dog and called 911. Responds being officers say the animal was so aggressive they had to shoot it. A neighbor describes the chaotic scene. I see blood all over, and the bigger sister, blood. I didnt know they had a pitbull. I know a german shepherd. The victim is list in the Critical Condition at Childrens Hospital of philadelphia. Neighbors tell us, she is the daughter of a newark city councilman. The search is on for an Armed Robbery suspect caught on tape in moorestown, burlington county. Gas being gunman walked into 7eleven at lenola and cannon, threatened the clerk before taking money and cigarettes, if you recognize the suspect you are being asked to Contact Police right away. And developing right now, a Police Officer is shot in ferguson, missouri. The search is underway for the suspect, the city has been the scene of racial unrest and the wake of the august shooting dealt of unarmed black teenager by a white Police Officer. Authorities say the officer was on patrol last night when he encountered two men who ran from him. The officer gave chase. As he came into very close proximity with them, one of the individuals turned with firearm, the officer was able to block it with his arm, and then was shot in the arm by one of the suspects. The Police Officer is expected to be okay. Last night shooting does not appear to be have anything to do with the shooting death of michael brown. He was killed by officer Darren Wilson on august 9th. In the meantime, a county grand jury is weighing whether to indict the officer in browns shooting. In northeastern pennsylvania, the search goes on for eric frein, accused of ambushing two state troopers earlier this month killing one of them. As vladmeere reports, investigators say theyve collected more evidence on frein from his own computer. Troopers spent saturday as they have for the past 15 days searching the dense pennsylvania back country for eric frein. They havent found him but theyre not giving up. Police also recovered data from compute their convinced them frein planned his attack for at least a couple of years. Septa bus crash in south philadelphia is under investigation this morning, police tell Eyewitness News, a mother was crossing the street with her son, when they were struck by the bus. It happened friday night, at 15th street and washington avenue, 29 year olds sheena white was killed, her eight year old son was injured, and her grieving father now is searching for answers. It is just tearing me up, almost at a lost for words. To lose a child, man, you know, it is like, you know, you dont want to see your child leave this earth before you. You know . I mean, want it the other way around. It is just terrible. There were no passengers aboard at the time of the accident. And, charges are now pending in a hitandrun crash that left a grandfather dead and his grandson injured in philadelphias mt. Airy neighborhood. Authorities say they were inside a red car when a green suv collided into their vehicle at gorgeous and ardsly friday night. The driver and the passenger of the suv ran away from the scene. Police caught them short time later. Investigators are now determining whether or not they were driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A shooting in Strawberry Mansion has Police Searching for kill they are morning. The 38 year old victim was shot four times, including once in the head. He was returned from the 2900 block of west oakdale street to Temple University hospital where he later died. Police havent said what may have sparked this shooting. And residents and Community Groups are marching this weekend to call for an end to gun violence in philadelphia. The handsacross philadelphia event was held in west philadelphia. Dozens marched 3 miles along 52nd street from woodland avenue to parkside avenue. Organizers say it is important to educate young people, and keeps them skilled that stops violence before it starts. It is too much death, way too much death. And we need to do something to get people to understand that there is way too much death. It is the second day of the annual bike ms city to shore ride. The race raises money for multiple Sclerosis Research and programs.
