But before drones weighing just over half a pound or more take flight, the owner need to register with the faa, or face potential of huge fines. Something that drone makers wont be required to tell you until at least 2018. The faa expects as many as 2. 5 million drones to be sold this year, so far more than 615,000 hobbyists have registered as part of the effort by regulators to get drone users to follow the rules including flying by low 400 feet and away from airports. And justin, we have had a few windy case these last couple days, would definitely not be something you want to fly a drone in. Not at all. Today in the so windy that wind backs down. We have gotten in the mid 40s , that is not the bad but felt much colder with that breeze but today it is pretty confidentable for start of the january 2017, temperatures up around 50 degrees. Above average. Live look at the shore right now in margate we have had some clouds here in the background, and, and, and, this morning, temperatures, cold, coming in at 42 degrees but new years tradition. Rahel, says she will do it next year. Thirtysix in allentown. Thirtynine in reading. Fortythree in trenton at this hour. There is shore temperatures ranging from upper 30s in cape may to lower 40s, stone harbor and ocean city there is that ocean water, chilly, 42 degrees. Enough of the breeze. Bring wind chills down in the lower 30s in spots. Downingtown 33. Thirtyfive in wilmington. It could be a whole lot worse this time of the year. Speaking of temperatures we have been on the mild side past few months. December here are stats, again , ended up being above average, a degree above average and below average on the precipitation, quiet on storm scan three, we have a cold front coming through with some speed but there is no cold air behind it. We do see those cloud breaking up so a lot of sunshine on tap in showers down across southern virginia in the carolinas and that light rain will start to move northward later tonight and tomorrow morning we will be dealing with wet weather. Heres the reason. High pressure protecting us today n threat of rain. Clouds will thicken up tonight we have one round of rain moving in early on monday morning . Maybe a little bit of light freezing rain in the poconos and Lehigh Valley before change to go rain, and that will be a area of rain moving out. We will get a second round of steady, heavier rain coming in on tuesday so really two shots of needed rain in the region. Tuesday will be a warm day, well into the 50s, temperatures today not bad, sunny skies, look at the that, we will be in the the 40s. Cooler in the the Lehigh Valley, probably topping off in the mid 40s as this mild is a few degrees on the cool side. We will get to 50 around philadelphia and surrounding suburbs. Similar numbers, in the south jersey and shore. Dover coming in around 50. We have a nice off shore wind today so that will pick up warmth on the land, so no effect from that 42degree ocean temperature on the air, or or even shore hits 50 degrees at one point today. Watch it happened, end of the week, arctic blast coming in here thursday, high temperatures running five to 10 degrees below average. That doesnt seem, too bad, but think of it this time of the year, it is january, so 10 r a high close to 30 degrees, that is it. That is not factoring in the wind. This cold spell will last into next week.
