The ntsb recovered one of the two event recorders, investigators say the other will take some time to recover. New Jersey Transit Service Remains suspended indefinately, in and out of the hoboken terminal. Right now, it is a very unsafe situation. There is a canopy that is resting on top of the train. Once that is removed we will be able to look more closely at this train. Fifteen people remain hospitalized. And that crash has many people wondering would seatbelt on the train have prevented some of those injuries . Could they help protect passage inning ers in a crash . Health reporter Stephanie Stahl tells us why seatbelts actually might not help. Passengers on the train, that crashed in hoboken, describe chaos, and a lot of flying debris. People got some head injuries, from stuff falling from the sealing. It got kind of dark, and there was debris kind of flying around in the air. Seat belts on trains wouldnt guard against debris in crashes. But, passengers were also knocked around. Something that caused many injuries in the amtrak crash in Port Richmond last year. People were hurled violently against each other. Most experts feel because train crashes are so rare, it is not worth installing seatbelts. The risk on the highway is many times higher than on railroad and likelihood of accidents like this one is extremely low 2007 british study found seatbelts on trains could actually do more harm than good, when simple lap belts like those used in planes were tested the crash dummies were whipped forward and rotated with enough force to break their next. And when threepoint belts were tested like those in cars, they did better but seals on trains would have to be more rigid in order to anchor them, increasing the risk of injury to unrestrained passengers. Many things people dont think of crashing in a train and crushing in a bar. The odds every anything lapping so miniscule that not worth the effort. Another survey concluded seatbelt on trains dont seem to be practical in part because passengers are unlikely to use them. And there is the issue of cost, it would be very expensive to put seatbelts on a train. Im Stephanie Stahl, cbs3, Eyewitness News. Well, cheap gas in new jersey wont be that cheap much longer. You have a big barbeque for him, throw a block party, everything he needs. Well have big time motor pulling him up the street, whatever he wants. And some of them say they expect great things from went, like helping the eagles get into the playoffs. Dont we all. All right, justin, joining us now, justin, i expect great things from this forecast. Im trying here. It does get better. We were talking about it all week long, just slow improvement the storm just stubborn, cut off from the jet stream, no where to go, but finally i think tomorrow we do see little sunshine. Still we keep it nice and dreary today. So if you like that, hey, youll love this forecast, couple of showers possible again later on this afternoon. Waking up to some cool temperatures, everybody pretty much the same, just due to some cloud cover right now. Out in clementon, david dutch, 58 degrees with overcast skies, close by there, in cherry hill, jenny jensen, she checks in at 57 degrees. Overcast, dew point of 54. Looking forwards to the suns return, im with you there, jenny. I think tomorrow should see few peaks of sunshine, not full sunshine, but hey we will take it. Here in philadelphia, right now, phil checking in at 57 degrees again overcast skies. And as we head to the afternoon i say again those rain chances start to increase little bit. Lets take you to the shore, where you guys have been hit hard, past 48 hours, four, 5 inches in parts of Cape May County, ocean city right now looking dry, just cloudy, damp, still have the breeze coming in off the water. Couple of showers possible again later this afternoon. But you will start to warm up little bit. Today getting close to 70, and then tomorrow, possibly well into the 70s, as a warmfront moves through. Look at the Doppler Radar rain estimates, over the last 48 hours, look at the bulls eye here basically Chester County southward through all of delaware, yellows indicating three, 4 inches, then the red and orange, thats five plus, and that extends into part of Cape May County and Sussex County, delaware, 12, even 13 is the rain in some parts. The hardest hit areas was harbison delaware, the route nine from lewes, to georgetown, go down to millsboro, roxanne a, hardest areas eastern Sussex County Flood Warning continues for kent and Sussex County, through the day today into tomorrow. Still some flooded roadways there. So just be safe when traveling in those locations later today. So, rain chances, few showers, especially this afternoon, still dreary, tonight, cloudy skies continue. Scattered showers possible. But much better tomorrow. Clouds to start. Some sunshine through the afternoon, maybe stray shower. And most of the rain right now, to the west of us, central, western pennsylvania, then we have steadier rain off shore. That looks like it may just stay off shore. Thats good news there. But couple of these showers could get into the Delaware Valley, late this morning, into the afternoon. Already october 1st, here is some october highlight. Today do average high of 72 degrees, but now time where we start to get the change. By the end of the month, averaging high temperatures in the lower 60s, and it can snow in the month of october. Last time we had it was back in 2011, october 29th,. 3 of an inch of snow. Typically our fall color peaks in late october, around philadelphia, little bit earlier, into the north and west, and looks like were on schedule for that, and our average first frost is late in the month, as well. Strong category four hurricane, this is matthew, category five earlier, overnight, winds at 105 Miles Per Hour right now, still moving westward, and again, the forecast models, show that turn to the north through jamaica, cuba, bahamas, will weaken as it moves over lands mass, where does it go after wednesday . Still the models take it northward. But, eventually it, does try to turn it back out to sea, when does that turn happen . Thats going to be crucial in the forecast. So, we will watch that, if it would impact the Delaware Valley, and not saying it will, would at least be a week away probably sometime next week, a lot of times for things to change and the track will change. Couple of showers tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow look being breaking out to little sun, city on south and eastward, partly sunny skies continue into monday. So things getting little better. Still cool today. 60s for highs. Close to 07 in south jersey. Tonight 50s and 60s for the low, tomorrow add the sun, start boosting those temperatures back up into the mid 70s. So still cool day today, 68 degrees, for the high temperature, tonight, clouds, maybe a shower at 62, extended forecast, getting better, mid 70s, sunday, monday, then lou 70s through the ends every next week, manlily dry forecast, then we will watch the track of matthew over the next several days.
