Evidence. This is part of the civil case where penn state is trying to prove its insurance carrier to reimburse the university for tens of millions of dollars in Jerry Sandusky settlement claims. It is alleged that the 14 yearold asked for a meeting with paterno and while walking with him he says he toll the coach that sandusky had molested him. Paterno, according to the deposition allegedly responded i dont like to hear about any of that kind of stuff, i have a football season to worry about. The victim testified, paterno then ignored him. The it is claimed john doe 150 kept quiet about the abuse until early 90s. As much as we we would all like to make paterno into a saint he wasnt. Reporter Marci Hamilton represented a sandusky victim. She and other legal experts say these documents are significant. She said time line of sexual abuse and when the university, including paterno knew you about it, it is much broader then first thought. Hamilton points to word paterno released in the statement before he died. What he said is i didnt do enough. I dont know why his defenders cannot remember that he said, i didnt do enough because he didnt. Reporter well, paterno family is firing back releasing this statement, reading in part and i quote, the materials released to day relate to go joe paterno alleged a conversation that occurred decades ago where all parties except the a cueser are now dead. In addition there are numerous specific elements of the accusations that defy all logic and have never been subjected to even the most basic objective examination. Well, also in this paperwork, specific numbers, on how much victims were paid, and viewed by one legal expert that accused the university of never vetting some of the accuser stories and just handing out payments. Judge released Catherine Knott on parole. Knott served minimum five months of her sentence for attacking two men in center city back in 2014. Knott still has to spend the next two years on probation and shes not allowed in philadelphia during that time. The attack prompted city officials to update philadelphias hate crime law. A Community Comes together to mourn the death of the teenager killed after playing with friends and his cobbs creek neighborhood. Short while ago vigil was held at 58th and ellsworth street to remember 15 yearold tahir barnes, barnes was shot and killed last night after a basketball game. He was outing, he loved his family and he loved his friends. He just wanted to make it. There was nothing that anyone could say, just so senseless, just for no reason. Police believe the shooter is also a teenager between the age of 15 and 17 and they want to talk to people at the that game last night. President obama was joined by former president george w. Reporter it is a nation. This little boy is very special, it is his adoptive parents who made it all happen and the doctors at wills eye hospital. From the world of darkness to a future full of hope. John paul easily navigates the ropes in his neighborhood park. This kind of free playing is something nobody ever expect from the little boy was blind for the first three years of his life. I think it is incredible how far he has come. Reporter john paul was adopted from an orphanage in china by fey and Michael Corbin living in camden county. They thought they could help because michael is brian. I felt i could provide him with all of the knowledge i had acquired. I wanted to help him achieve his full potential. Reporter not knowing exactly what was wrong with his eyes, they turned to wills eye hospital. Judge alex robin determined one eye was damage beyond repair but there was hope for his left eye when they found cataract and other issues that could be fix surgically. The problem was, they didnt know what had caused the eye issues. So it would be risky. Complete unknown whether the surgery which is difficult, complicated surgery and has been associated were lost of any vision at all. Reporter complicating things john paul had no language skills, nothing was known about him or his background but the risky surgery worked. The day after john paul could see. Really incredible thing, he is a great kid and blossomed in many ways and making unbelievable strides. Reporter john paul is in the second grade where he has a favorite subject. Social studies. It has been an emotional roller coaster ride i would have to say. He has done so well and accomplish much more than we had anticipated. He is focusing on helping beyond paul not with vision issues but overcoming some developmental issues related to being abandoned in that orphanage.
