Reporter hi jessica when it comes to safety and security the you had secret service they are running this ballgame. They have taken over for last couple weeks or so and they will see this dnc through but members of the Mayors Office and Philadelphia Police department are helping and they believe things will run smoothly. For than a event like dnc there is no city in the country i would rather be in then city of philadelphia a. Reporter cities top Decision Makers met three weeks to the dnc, over a million are expect to converge on philadelphia and officials are ready. City officials and United States secret Service Released this map to the public. It highlights a secure perimeter around the wells fargo center, site of the convention. Others streets around that area impacted as well, but the dark area at bottom of the screen is the secure zone. Map looks nothing like the one officials released for pope francis visit last september that shut down most of the city. You cannot compare obviously the papal visit to the Democratic National convention. It is much more confined area. It is minimally impact full. It will impact some people but generally impact full on businesses rather than residents and traffic. Reporter thousands of protesters indicated that they will demonstrate in nearby fdr park. Police commissioner richard ross welcomes their points of view. His goal, it is to make sure that they protest safely, legally. We will respect the constitution and everyones right to protest and i think the city and police department, as well as other entities have done a good job at demonstrating that and trying to convey that to everyone involved. Another hot sticky evening commute for septa riders on pack Regional Rail trains, delays, crowded trains have been the normal, for commuters this beek. The railcars get emergency repairs some trains have bypassed crowded platforms. They are also running slower because of the speed restrictions caused by excessive heat. Riders who want a refund for their weekly and monthly passes because of this weeks delays have until today to return their passes. Reporter in a sudden, unexpect move the Philadelphia Parking Authority announced thursday that it will temporarily stand down, in a long run and bitter feud with uber. Their ride will be legitimate. There will be no interference from the parking authority. Reporter p pa was hedging its bets that state lawmakers last week would have put this entire issue to bed, but because of some budget hang ups, it never happened. Were told lawyers agreed to a 90 day period where uber x and uber pool will be able to operate in the city, including the airport. As it should be, being here for a year. Reporter the news was welcomed by those using the Ride Sharing Services a serve that is up until now has been flying under the parking authoritys regulatory radar. Reporter owners of philadelphia establishments like mcgill ans old ale house and beer garden says they are selling more beer and liquor then in years past. It has been a explosion of tourism in the city, we have pop up beer gardens. Reporter a 10 cents tax on each alcoholic drink sold is making it city controller alan butkovitz. According to numbers from his office, revenue from the liquor by the drink tax a long is flowing freely 22 milliondollar in the past five years. State Officials Say that is about 5 million more kind of beer that has been sold compared to 2011. That is enough liquor for an olympic sized Swimming Pool double size of this one. Tax must be paid by any establishment that sells alcohol by the drink, such as hotels, restaurants, bars and caterers. It is really hard after the tax was enacted, we didnt want to pass along increase to our customers. You know, so we just completely absorbed that tax. They missed vast majority of the region but one or two formed over Burlington County, moved through portions of ocean county where they briefly blew up those ocean county shore towns and then moved out to sea. Overnight the tonight we will see dew points back in the 70s where they will be tomorrow as well, right on that line, not the most humid air we have ever felt but certainly still above average and with temperatures well above average it is making it feel hotter, then your thermometer indicates. Right now feels like 100 solid degrees, triple digits in dover. Feels like temperature in the city 95 at the moment. Ninetyfour is what it feels like in wilmington. Lets talk about future weather and time out these showers and storms. If you have travel plans down the shore after work on friday air just thinking about how you will battle that normal friday traffic in the summertime, we will see scotterd showers and storms popping up. 2 00 p. M. Burlington county, ocean county once again. As we go in the afternoon showers and storms could pop up anywhere. Some could have locally heavy rainfall this particular model wants to put a shower over philadelphia at 7 00 oclock. Probably not in that exact location tomorrow the at 7 00 but there is a chance many spots in our area could see a heavy thunderstorm tomorrow. Saturday starts off with cloud cover, cloud keep temperatures slightly lower in the lower 90s but slight thely lower early saturday and another round have showers and storms begins to form saturday afternoon. It behind these storms we will start to feel difference, and temperatures and humidity will drop off on sunday. So heres how it will feel. Friday still feeling oppressive with dew points right around 70 degrees. Saturday dew points back to the 60s which is still steamy. Sunday we will cut that down. Monday we are looking at dew points back in the 50s. Gradual cool down and gradual drying of the eras well heading toward the weekend and next week. Overnight very warm, steamy, 76 is your overnight low. Not the best night to leave windows open while you sleep. Tomorrow another carbon copy day, hot and humid with a stray afternoon then are storm. Same story down the shore, thunderstorms in the evening down the shore but we could see them pop up in the afternoon. High of 88. Saturday 88 partly sun which a storm possible in the afternoon and evening but then sunday looks like your best beach day of the bunch, more sunshine and lower humidity, once we get through this heat wave and we will get into sunday we have a great stretch of summer weather on the way, sunday, monday into next week, so next week, week off, next week down the shore upper 80s, lots of sunshine.
