Extends all the way into eastern kentucky, tennessee, Winter Weather advisories south of that. But we are the ones that are bearing the brunt down to baltimore, dc, and us right here in our delaware valley, blizzard warnings are in effect for wind speeds pretty impressive. And what that does is knock down your visibility, substantially, youre under or at half mile at best. Essentially region wide here. So this is no joke. You know, we really dont want you to go out in this if you dont have to. What do you really need to know for now . All snow for, say, berks county, Lehigh Valley region, with gusts as high as 30 Miles Per Hour, the gusts get little higher the further southeast you travel, so chester, montgomery, bucks county then across the river into trenton, it is all snow, and strong buses to make for blizzard conditions. Mainly snow, as you head further south right along i95, the immediate vicinity, then down toward the shore, mixture of sleet and rain, although, right now, it is primarily snow, but heavy strong wind gusts to the expectation out of this. So, we had mentioned that coastal flood concern. Thats what you will find. Another way to put it, nice little synopsis for you, that heavy snow will accumulate we think around philadelphia, 18 to 24 inches, pretty broad swat by the way that 18 to 24, then through the outskirt it becomes more of 1218, coastal new jersey and delaware six to 12. Fifty pile per hour gusts as we said is the peak inland, at the shore it could be stronger and reduced visibility because of t snow covered roadways already, so you have to use caution. Heres that look though at the exclusive eyewitness weather snowfall map. Clearly beefed up the expectations in terms of totals. Bulls eye goes down into South Central pennsylvania, and maryland. But were going to perform pretty well ourselves here. With even the expectation of some rain down near the shore, you will still ends up with a foot out of this. Definitely a serious system that we are going to be facing throughout the course of the day. Thats the thing it, does not end any time soon. Weve got a long day to get through here, meisha, so we will be dodging snow blowing, drifting, all day, right into tonight. Yes, a picturesque as snow can be it, can be so dangerous, when you put a vehicle in conditions like this, now, we do have accident near yardley right now, 59 south past 332. Not many vehicles out on the roadways right now, which is great great news. But if we have accidents, disabled vehicles, like this, what we are seeing this morning, and the more vehicles that get on the roadway it, will cause more and more issues, because it is not good driving conditions right now. Disable vehicle, blue route southbound at saint Davids Villanova, the right lane, right now, is compromised. And you can see, you can kind of scoot around, but you have to drive slow around these disabled vehicles and these accidents, because there is no grip on the road right now. Boulevard at ninth before broad street. You can see just past this light even. The wind is pushing that snow, and also, when you are sitting in your vehicles driving, even going 45, 50 Miles Per Hour, you can feel that wind moving your vehicle. Disable vehicle 295 north, another one, before route 30, right lane is block, and also in the world of mass transit, those of you thinking about it, dart, new Jersey Transit suspend the starting at about 2 00 a. M. Septa suspended except for the market frankford and the broad street line. And when we go to the wide, just kind of giving you a general look at whats going on, 33 Miles Per Hour on 95, and by the way, all of the highways, the pa highways right now are down to 45 Miles Per Hour, your bridges, your speed restrictions, are in place right now. Those are down to 25 Miles Per Hour. On the schuylkill, youre showing 43 right now, i can let you know right now when we look at wide map like this, for the most part what you are looking at in terms of speed restrictions, if you wont even be driving those speed restrictions in most areas anyway, i would say, the majority of owl areas, not going more than 30 Miles Per Hour if you are going to be stay safe. Nicole, back over to you. Meisha, thanks so much. We check in next with the city of philadelphia where a snow emergency is now in effect. Our pat gallen in Port Richmond where hes hunkered down at very popular place. Whats he doing . I dont know. Pat . Reporter im trying to stay upright, guys. Ive been trying to gain weight for this reason alone because the winds out here is whipping. I talked to you guys about a half hour ago. It has gotten actually worse. I dont know how thats possible. But the winds whipping like crazy here at the wawa on aramingo avenue, as you can see over here to the left, the plows are out. Which is a good thing right now. Because these streets have really taken a beating, although, we have seen a steady stream of people coming into this wawa, basically like an airport. Everyone is coming through here. The roads are being well traversed here on aramingo avenue. So, thats a good thing, havent seen many people sliding out, actually seen quite a few people coming in here. And i have made a friend over here who i dont know why everyone is coming out right now, it is very early, if i were able i would still be in bed. But these people have jobs. Like me. Who this is our buddy over here, chris russell. Chris, chris, my friend. Whats up buddy . What are you doing out here man . Going to work, yes, i work for peco energy. Have you heard of anything, any Power Outages in the area . I havent heard of anything, but finding naught about five minutes. Good thing for you. So whats your day going to be like . Fix some power lines for the most part. You have like a set schedule, out for what 12 hours . We will work for dis patch ers, if anything comes in, theyll give us a call, we will do 16hour shifts. Sixteenhour yes, and guys overnight already, well go relieve them, then, you know, start again tomorrow. I was complaining about my 12 hour shift, and you have 16. Im in the warm car with a nice coffee, youre out there. Chris, enjoy, man. Thank you. Enjoy your day. Hell go fix some power lines. We are just hanging out here at the wawa. Ill get some hot coffee, weve got matt here who is freezing behind the camera. Soap, we will move around the northeast, when we talk to you well probably be a little bit more north. This is pat gallen, live from aramingo avenue, back to you guys. Pat, you said exactly what i was thinking, oh, the 12 hour shift were doing doesnt seem so bad. Imette st. Guillen concerned with him. Remember dan rather in the nine s when that hurricane, we will just change you down, pat, youll be safe. I would love to see that. Look it up. Next time. Thanks, see in you just a little bit. Now we check on how things are going on in Montgomery County. Eyewitness News Reporter rahel solomon is live for us in king of prussia. Rahel, whats it like out that way . Well, nicole, jim, good morning, take a look at this mounds of snow, this pretty much describes what it is like out here this morning, remember, warm, sunny . Yes, this is what we are dealing with this morning, in our last report, i spoke to andrew from blue bell who got here shoveling trying to make money and what are the Road Conditions like . Whats it like throughout . I think he described it as horrible, his words, not mine, but basically describe wag it feels like out here, and when i tried to walk around, but this snow out here very deep. Sort of see were at route 202 at henderson here in king of prussia where you can see im almost kneedeep in the snow. Thats just how deep it is. Now, in addition to all of the snow accumulating on the grounds, we still have this snow coming down quite heavily, quite forcefully. Winds complicating things out here. So, it almost stings as it hits your face, coming down very quickly, very heavily, almost burns your face as it is coming down, roads this morning, schuylkill, covered in snow. I just spoke with Montgomery County officials this morning, look, theyre out there, theyre trying, full fleet out. But you can just imagine, with the snow coming down so quickly, just as fast as they get out there, seems like another rounds of snow is coming. Soap it, has not let up. Mother nature this morning, showing absolutely no mercy. Here at wawa, all were seeing, not too many motorists, what we are seeing, how much, folks out there, shoveling, folks throughout with their snow plows. In fact, these guys over here, i said how long have you been out here . They said all night. I said how long are you staying . They said all day. So we are certainly bracing for much more of this weather, very cold, the snow not letting up. Again, snow, quite a bit accumulating on the roads. In fact, i checked in on line, with Montgomery County. And they are reporting little less than dozen accident this morning. Right now, being reported, so, those are disable vehicles, those are accidents, so, if you dont have to be on the road, safe to say it is dangerous out there. The roads are slick, visibility is poor, and again, snow just not letting up. So if you can stay home, safely with your family, this is the day to do it. Reporting live in king of prussia. Rahel solomon, cbs3, eyewitness news. Rahel, you didnt take my advice. You didnt buy the goggles from andrew. He wouldnt lends them to me. I tried. Money speaks. Just buy the thing from him. All right, rahel, thank you. And as we follow this blizzard, we are out on the roads, lets head out live to the Atlantic City expressway, where it is a very snowy morning. And we want to see what the storm looks like in your neighborhood. Sends us your pictures on facebook, twitter and instagram. Just use the cbs3 snow. And we will put it on tv. We are at wawa, route 38. My poor boots will be burried any minute now. Take a look up there. This is really fast moving, right in your face, very heavy, dense kind of snow. Now the good news is that im seeing less people on the roadways. I think youre seeing an s. U. V. And truck coming through. Earlier we were seeing some cars trying to push through this. Thats not a smart idea right now. You know, earlier on, i also saw salt truck, of all things, stuck in its place, spinning its wheels, that goes to show how serious it is out here. It is a state of emergency here in new jersey, and a lot of that will have to do with the coastal flood that theyre seeing down the shore. But, that also has to do with these driving conditions, the visibility, thats absolutely terrible. I mean, this is heavy wet snow. It is sticking to your windshield. Having hard time seeing in front of you. Not just these slippery roads. Here in new jersey they have stockpiled 200,000 tons of salt to be laid on these roadways, right now, but that only does so much. Works as i was told this morning by lowering the temperature, the snow needs to melt. So it is kind of layered on, thats why you see them keep putting on the layers, not just for traction, it is to help it all the melt. You know, i feel like these know coverage experiences, theyre learning experiences, i learned one other very interesting thing from an expert this morning, i was told when salt, say all the salt was gone, no one able to use it to treat roads, some places in the united state they actually use beet juice to melt snow. So we have options here, folks. May not be the best options, fortunately, sounds like 200,000 tons should do it for this storm here in new jersey, but you never know. Sit tight today. Im happy no not to see as many people on the roads. Any of the marks you see behind me, all people getting stuck. So you dont want to be there, not this early, not when you can be home. Guys, we send it back to you for now. But we will keep an eye on the storm out here. All right, alex, thanks. Beet juice . Yes. You know . I worry about the salt running my shoes . Yes, dont wear suede in bad weather, these are the things we think of at 6 15 in the morning. Alex, thanks. A lock at the snow where you live, thanks to twitter and of course the miracle of modern technology, rough ride, easthampton Burlington County tweeted that cbs3 snow, sent it to us by wayne avis, looks like snow covered roads out that way. How about a look at northeast philly, this is cool shot of cottman and torresdale avenue. Tweeted out by dawn. Thank you so much for a shot that really shows up snow piling up. Yes, really building up out there. A look now at our neighborhood. This is right outside the door of cbs3, looking south down 16th street, shot by one of our producers, kneel, not tyne citing out there. To say the least. Stay inside at least nor now, right, jim . Theyll never shovel out from our building. Show us now the snow in your neighborhood, share your snow photos on facebook, twitter, instagram with the cbs3 snow. Again, cbs3 snow. You might see them turn upright here on cbs3. Now they will have to shovel. Exactly. Never know, thats why now they wont. Dont do it. Not where you have to walk. Exactly. Our Team Coverage continues with the storm with katie in the weather center. How is it looking . You know, definitely as weve seen from all of these reports so far, coming down very heavily for us. And we could have potential to actually end up in the top five out of this storm. What we would need to happen is for us to exceed 21 inches. That is the number five snowstorm for the top ones that weve seen here in philadelphia. And it actually happened in 1909 on christmas day, interestingly enough. So as we take you back on out to storm scan3, as this nice wide zoom. You do continue to see the rotation, counter clockwise spin, where all of the moisture is getting shoved on shore. So not only are you getting a lot of moisture to produce the heavy thumbing snows, but also getting persistence with that winds flow. Thats a huge concern with this. The outer edge of this is actually starting to bring in little more dry air, we zero back in on that, look at the last couple of hours, few Little Pockets where youve had perhaps brief lull, brief granted but lull nonetheless. So you will see differences, evan flow situation, where you see heavy snow bursts, then it is to quiet down, then moderate snow, then picks back up again. Thats going to take place basically all day. Live look from the very own rooftop here, our center city studios, throw the Current Conditions out at Philadelphia International airport over top of this. It feels like nine, when that very persistent 26mile per hour northeast winds is blowing. So, very, very cold too. The hazards aside from the snow, it is just cold. We dont want you going out in this anyway. Meanwhile weve got one of the first, i should say, three threatening high tides around 7 00 for rehoboth, little later or earlier depending on location for strathmere, wildwood, cape may. And the coastal flooding concerns, that we have been discussing throughout this entire storm, come into play there. Region by region, take a look at your spot, this is what you are facing, folks, generally six to 12 up to 18, maybe as much as 24 inches. Thats specific for the greater philadelphia region in terms of snow totals. With the weight of that snow, coming down on tree lines, power lines, and tree limbs, i should say, thats going to way it down. Throw in 40 to 60mile per hour gust, you do easily see some of the tree limbs or lines come down. Power outages remain, another significant concern out of this. As we heard from pat gallens report some of the guys not hearing of anything yet, but still just in the beginning stages of this storm obviously, so, much to get through at this point. But certainly thats one side effect that could really be a problem for us. And for more in terms of what that wind will have an impact on here in the blizzard conditions, we send it out to poor justin, you look so cold out on skydeck. Thats all right. You know, meteorologists, you live for this stuff. This is classic noreaster, what you learn about in school, these storms really only happen maybe once or twice a decade. Thats about it, so it is pretty cool to be out here on the skydeck, hard to take a measurement how much snow. We had to shovel here little bit. I would say at least 10 inches it looks like here, but actually catching a little bit after break. Weve been talking about visibility improve slightly here in center city but around the region still pretty bad. You can barely even see me on the screen there. Weve got the snow blasting this camera. Check it out, half mile visibility, gotten little better. Half mile in wilmington, look at dover, now up to 4 miles, that just shows that the snow has stopped for the time being. Not the trends though. As storm continues to intensify, with more moisture coming in from the south. Look at the current wind gusts, 40 at the it airport, 46 wilmington, 47 at the Atlantic City airport, and these winds will continue to gust, especially through the midmorning hours. At the coast, up to 60 Miles Per Hour, so no matter where you are, secure loose objects. Power outages balls of the winds, heavy wet snow, taking down some every those tree branches, again, those gusty strong northeast winds backing up the water, along the coast, even up to delaware bay into the delaware river. Thats why the coastal Flood Warning continues until tomorrow afternoon, until noontime. So watch out times of high tide. Good news is behind this storm, we dont have any arctic air. You see that a lot with these big storm system. So the clean up will be a little bit better tomorrow. And look at that, temperatures rebounding into the 40s, next week. Until then, though, next several hours, going to be rough. These heavy snow bands, moving through, stay safe. Checking the Road Conditions, back to the studio with meisha whats the latest out there. Justin, not looking good. It has been disable vehicle after disable vehicle after accident after accident. What that let us know, not only we know the snowstorm is here, we know the snow is coming down, but the roads are incredibly slippery. Do you not have any grip. And the snow keeps coming, and it is heavy snow, which makes it even harder to drive in. So this is where we did have deceivable vehicle, since cleared, giving you a idea of kind of what it looks like when you can see the pavement, all of the darkness, i can let you know right now, a lot of seeing again and again vehicle after vehicle spinning off the ramps. Disable clear, the on ram from creek road, it was what i was just talking about coming on 42, off the off ramp. I can let you know they slid right off. There is no grip. Accident near yardley, 59 south past 332. Trying it get that cleared up. Also disable vehicle, thats since been cleared. Blue route southbound saint Davids Villanova again disable vehicle, 295 north before route 30. I feel like this will be a rounding theme. If can you stay off the roadways, certainly do so. Nicole, jim, back to you. Meisha, thats for sure, driving anywhere around the region, it will be pretty dangerous. South jersey is burried under a few inches of snow already mike dinardo from sister station kyw news radio 1060 behind the wheel on route 38 near the moorestown mall. Mike, how are you doing out there . How are the roads . Not too bad, jim. Good news is that im right behind a new jersey dot plow train on route 38, eastbound, and plowed pretty much down almost to the road surface, maybe quarter inch of snow on route 38 here in maple shade. Bad news is you cant get off the highway, because there is so much snow theyve pushed off to the side there is maybe 18inch to 2foot wall on the shoulder of the roadway you cant turnoff to parking lot side street many of them not plowed yet, so what you find, im reminds the of the Hotel California lyrics, check out any time you look are like but you can never leave. Im not sure im getting offer any too many soon. And one of the things i would like positive to point out, do you have watch out with the plows, stay far back. Definitely. Cars get damaged all the time. Because people think okay, the closer i am, the better. Oh, no, you need to leave plenty of extra room. Are you seeing anybody out there trying to do that, mike . No, at this point, nicole, it is impossible. They have taken up all three lanes of the highway here, number of cars that have just been following for miles and miles because they literally cant pass this plow train. When i was driving into work, traction was miserablement keep an eye on things for us out there. Well check in with you in a little while, mike. You bet, thank you. Our cbs3 reporters posted throughout the region bringing you conditions you need to know about to get through the blizzard of 2016. Up next this morning, cbs3s justin finch is in wilmington, delaware, live look at that situation there. Justin . Nicole, the words of the day is winds here in wilmington, snow is a worthy runner up. We had a lot of people here, telling us, theyre still going to work, understand bridge, with some frustrations, no doubt. There are plows, making their way an along 22 here, seeing them slowly make their way up and down the road. We have heard from del dot, more than 300 employs now, in operation, throughout the state. Clearing the roads, however they also tell us that many of the roads here are snow and ice covered. That is why that level one driving restriction is in place. Public transit here in delaware also down today, also, have early word of outages in some areas in wilmington, and at that point, it is no wonder why youre being asked to stay at home and also stock youre sinks shoes at this time. I have to tell you, trying to move very short distance from where we were in the 5 00 hour to know, was absolutely treacherous. The wind and snow will move your vehicles around no matter how large or big they are. , we also almost got stuck in quite a few places, and this snow is much deeper, thicker, than you may realize, dow want to walk right over here, sean, and just show them how it moves over, no longer the fluffy stuff now it is hard. Do you have force your feet in here. This is the casino every snow that your car just cannot move through. Again, thats why it is just best to stay inside. Im also hearing word, there are not shelters open at this time. Well checkup against on that often. And these conditions, do you see that, but no report of that at this time. Definitely over achieve when he it comes to the original expectations, so much moisture getting thrown back in from the northeast, such persistent winds flow. Wait until i show you one of the neighborhood cameras, going nuts, going nuts out, there guys. Specifically down in some of the area beaches in delaware. But how much snow are we talking about so far . It is piling up. Take a look, just very short live of some of the totals thus far. Upper darby shy of foot already. Marshall ton checks in at 10 inches thus far. Kop checking in at 11, basically 11. 5. Singing spring at 9. 2. The list goes on, even at philadelphia, 8. 8 is the official observation so far. We have seen higher totals from some our other offices of emergency management. Definitely out there. Certainly starting to pile up. We heard from justin finch in the last half hour, getting little thicker heavier snow, rather than the light fluffy stuff, having as much difficulty traveling last night. Storm scan shows the action packing up, few dry slots, so Cumberland County perhaps in bit of lull. Windy a lot of blowing and drifting i have and flow with us all day, in other words, see bands of heavy snow, bands of moderate or light snow. Little break comes through, basically any time here today. Specially south of philadelphia, but, here is our uptodate eyewitness weather snowfall, 18 to 24 hours, still the expectation, yep, 2 feet, possibly 2 feet out of this, folks, would put us in the top five for snowiest storms wife ever recorded look at the east northeast wind, sustained, folks, 55 Miles Per Hour so you can under stands the shaky camera going on, now basically rain, see the snow left behind on the side of the boardwalk there. Coastal flooding you Better Believe it. Noon tomorrow, with the pounding surf and the gust that is peak as high as 06 Miles Per Hour, if you havent already, now is the time to secure the loose object. Also anticipate there may be some Power Outages out of this, as well. So definitely very significant storm. And it is with us for many hours to come. Guys, back over to you. Appreciate t Team Coverage continues in philadelphia, believe it or not, some folks are out walking, early this morning, what, are people, crazy . Must be. Cherri gregg from our sister station kyw news radio 1060, live at broad and walnut in center city. You have company out there, cherry, what are they doing . Folks are out here shoveling. Take a look at the street along broad broad street, the sw continuously piling up. You can see, i am standing here and my entire boot covered. Hard to believe this entire area was shoveled about 45 minute ago. Operate here for couple of hours, yet the snow continues to come down. You can also see on the roadways here on brought street where six plows have come down, making multiple passes of broad street, yet, the entire street is covered. Because of the snow. Were seen the plows go by, seen folks trying to make sure that they comply with city code, which requires that you shovel three footpath on outside of your business or your home. Folks have been doing that in shift all morning. There is wind, the snow cold, wet, coming down at good clip. If you walk into the wind it, slaps you in the face. Then we tell you, we mentioned earlier there are some crazy folks out here, i spoke with a guy named rick. He just got off work. With this snow it doesnt seem to bother him. You can let him tell you about his outfit. Just coming from where we just got done. Actually it gets kind of hot at the bar. You do not want to be hot at the bar. So, shorts is the way to go. But you got on sneakers, several inches of snow, how are you maneuvering . Not hard. Were the hotel block down, not big deal. You see, these gentlemen, continuously working to clear this walkway. Not going to stop any time soon. And im turning into the wind. You can kind of see the snow casino of slapping me in the face. Im doing it all, you guys dont have to do that and just stay home, stay warm. Cbs3, eyewitness news. Is she trying to make us feel guilty . Not working. Not working, not working. Look at just ten he goes outside without a coat. Oh, there he goes. Real man. Things are out of control here. A lot of snow, more falling, if you dont have to go out, dont. For sure. Storm coverage continues now with eyewitness News Reporter rahel solomon who is wearing pants, live in king of prussia. Very smart of you, rahel, good morning. Ya, today is a good day for the pant, couple of layers underneath, is all. Good morning, jim, nicole. Right now route 202, and henderson in king of prussia. Where much like everyone else this morning, we are just getting pounded by the snow. All morning long, coming down quite steadily, quite heavily, not really letting up. Meantime take a look at the mound of snow. What all of the snow piles out here in the snow plows have been pushing to the side. Little freight to get to the top, but yes, safe to say there is quite a bit of snow out here, and complicating things, all of this win. Weve heard it this morning, very strong as the snow comes down steadily the winds coupled with it sharks you in the face it, stings. Montgomery county officials tell me they have full crews out all of the plows out, admit to me things are complicated and challenging this morning because think about it, as quickly as they can get out there looks like another layer of snow forming just behind them. Asking for everyone to stay off the roads, not only for your own safety but for the to be throughout to treat the wrote. They of course need space to do what they are doingment montgomery this morning, Montgomery County officials telling me about 16 accidents being reported right now between disable vehicles and traffic accidents. So, safe to say shall dangerous out there the roads are covered with snow, roads are slick, so you dont want to be out there if you dont need to be. Meantime, some crews, they have to be out here, because they are treating the roads. This is downingtown, craig, good morning. How are you doing . Whats it been like out there for you . Bitter cold, winds awful, whole lot of snow. Whole lot of snow. Seeing that too. Where have you been . Clearing out monday, probably sunday afternoon probably. So tell me whats been the most challenging . Is it the win, is it the snow, whats already on the grounds . What we are calling for, you know, it will start drifting snow here, really, light fluffy snow. So it is easily blowing around. Yes, all right, craig, be safe, guys. Winds creating challenges, folks that have to be out here. If you dont have to be you dont want to be. Trust me. Reporting live, rahel solomon, cbs3 eyewitness news. Thanks, rahel. Meant ago lot of the plow operators, especially the independent ones, where they make their money. A lot of them are landscapers during the summertime, at least yes, plenty of work. Exactly. Rahel allude dollars that, i think all of our report verse seen that this morning. Indeed looking at cbs3 mobile weather lab headed east on the schuylkill expressway. Not very quickly obviously. Schuylkill, i95, turnpike, blue route, and the vine street expressway, dont drive anywhere, stay with you are. Thats the bottom line. We laugh, time to have fun, but it is bigger dangers out there. Good thing it is saturday. Stay home, folks. Should see the stash of your stuff. Not healthy snack. Whatever. Couple of days. A chan to warm up, dry off. Angry weather watchers. Your welcome. Cold, maybe up to freezing, in the bathroom he is spot this afternoon, about it. But the problem is the winds, obviously the snow. Getting close, look at the sustained winds, 35 Miles Per Hour in middletown, delaware, jasons house, the storm starting to energize, 28 in cherry hill. Twentyeight millville. Seeing gusts, 40, even 45 Miles Per Hour as we speak right now. Ailment of locations above a foot. Thirteen and a half inches, dolores, probably catching little break now according to radar, but dont get used to, that that snow will fill back in. Hot ingham, fran, chester county, buena vista township, margo checking in at 10 inches, seven in lawrenceville, millville, new jersey, also in it at 7 inches. Cherry hill, 6 inches. Photos coming in, this is the story, pretty much the same deal. Shot out at newark, 13 and a hatch inches of snow, pretty rough out there. Want to show you this, snow drift, the weather watcher yardstick there. , thanks, guys, for sending in your reports, pictures, keep them coming all day long. Thats the latest here from the weather watcher. We send it back into jim, back to you. Thank you very much, and we do have breaking news right now, huge fire right now the jersey shore. Again looking liver at picture from brigantine, actually, where several condos are burning as you can see here. This is on brigantine boulevard. Just across the bridge from Atlantic City. Now, Atlantic City fire is also helping deal with those flames there. No word on how this started. But you have to give it up for these firefighters dealing with the conditions, the snow on top of it all, theyve got their work cut out for them. Our heart goes out to those people in those condos. So we will be paying close attention to that over the next few hours as we continue covering this very dangerous storm. Yes, you can see the winds whipping through those flames, and that of course makes it so much more difficult to fight, and of course, spreads the fire so much more quickly than it normally would. So, hopefully everybodys outside of that condominium. We will keep our eye on this breaking news for you again happening in brigantine, new jersey it, oh, thats not a good situation there. Meanwhile now going to go to break for few minutes. Pat gratten live where the snow is piling up out there. Pat . Nicole, yes. I have my trusty shovel with me, about time i used this poor excuse for a shovel. Im athen gin company 52, harbison avenue in the northeast. Well have more from here when we come b its about time the taco. Came out of its shell. Unleash the power of dough. Give it a pop. Its always worth remembering. That icing the Cinnamon Rolls is a privilege not a right. Unleash the power of dough. Give it a pop. You are looking liver at a picture in brigantine, several condos on burning, brigantine boulevard, just across the bridge from Atlantic City. Atlantic city fire is also helping deal with this blaze. No word on how it started. But to these firefighters out there, these are amazing conditions dealing with the snow, and specially with the win. You can see, look at the wind blowing with those flames. It is not a good situation out there. Condos, from what we understand, no word on the cause or the injuries. And jim, you mentioned the winds out there. Of course, we know that thats playing a role in this storm. So it will make it even more difficult. Absolutely, you can see the flames being fanned by that wind. Right now, just nextdoor in Atlantic City the current wind gusts are peaking at 47 Miles Per Hour. So, this makes me worry that you can see some of the flames, actually, flying there out into the breeze. That could actually lead to other things catching fire here. Thats a big concern, very persistent northeast wind. So they can attack it from the low angle, they know how to do it that based on winds conditions, it is not sporatic, but the gusts weve been talking about all morning could be easily in toward, say, 60mile per hour. So this is going to be a difficult one for them to battle strictly because of the winds. You mention those embers flying. Yes. From the building and possibly onto other buildings, other locations, kind of hard to get a feel for what is surrounding that condo building. But if it is a residential area, you can imagine, that it could spread to other homes, so firefighters, i mean, battling just brutal conditions out there in brigantine this morning, and the winds certainly not helping their cause. It is actually difficult to see what is surrounding that building. Because of visibility so poor. Do you think that will also affect i cant imagine it wouldnt. This is pretty much the worse Case Scenario for the weather to be in a situation like. This so vivid, how that winds is playing an impact on the tops of the buildings there. So, again, im sure that theyve got tactics to try to battle this, based on the way the winds is flowing. But this is really strong winds. When you are dealing with the kind of conditions were going to be dealing with, i mean, eventually there could be Tropical Storm gusts out there, yes, this will be real difficult situation, i think, and again right now, were here, seeing, on our observations, that just nextdoor Atlantic City 47mile per hour gusts are the current winds speeds, and you are basically looking at 35 plus mile per hour sustained, other than that, so a long with the fact that youre seeing the snow still come down, the rain come down, and they are basically right on that dividing line right now where the rainsnow mixing line, but that will make for very, very difficult not just visibility, you said, nicole, but also just to get this there and bat this will at all. Yes, once again, we just want to let you know that this is happening on brigantine boulevard, just across the bridge from Atlantic City. We know Atlantic City fire is also helping deal with the flames there. So they are getting little bit of help in brigantine, certainly going need it, because again, as you heard from katie, the conditions to fight this fire are just pretty much the worse possible scenario. So again we will stay on top of this for you, hopefully everyone is outside that far building. We havent gotten any word on any injuries, but we will certainly follow this for you out of brigantine, new jersey, horrible to see this happening on a day like today. Specially so early in the day. I mean, imagine waking up to have Something Like this happen in your home or your neighbors. Cant even imagine. We will be monitoring this throughout the next few hours, meanwhile event during outside probably not good idea. No, not at all. Alexandria huff doesnt have a choice, like so many of our reporters out and about. She in pennsauken for us. What is it like out there, al next. I think we are feeling a little break, in terms of precipitation, but the winds gust what is were feeling, the most painful part about being out here. We are are in pennsauken, route 38, quiet out here luckily not seeing many drivers at all. I think with speaking with mike denardo earlier on the phone, done on 38, he said something pretty powerfulment even if you were to make it on the rolled, wills not advised right now, you will have a hard time getting off. These plows have done such a great job on getting these roadways cleared for emergency personnel, somewhat of a wall, if we back up little bit here, had a is a example of that. We have 3 feet. Just in a packing lot. Serious on the road right now, you dont want to be out there if you dont have to be. We took video earlier of people who were trying do just that, get off rot pull off into a parking lot, they got stuck. We even saw salt truck just spinning in its place, so really no one is exempt from the dangers and the inconveniences really, of a storm like this right now. But once again, these plows are doing great job. We have 200,000 tons of salt keeping the roads clear. Dow want to mention something else. We are under state of emergency here in new jersey. And that can mean travel conditions, it also means coastal flooding down at the shore. But one thing thats being dealt with, as well, are Power Outages. I got some numbers from Atlantic City electric. Right now, in Atlantic County they have 3100 outages. Ocean county, 5600. But Cape May County right now dealing with 16,000 Power Outages, so right now people who have stayed inside, theyve done exactly what theyre supposed to do, now dealing with. That will so the storm, it is very serious, out here this morning, trying to make the best of it, along with everybody else. But were out here so you dont have to be, as rahel said very wisely. Once again the precipitation just let up tiny bit. But feeling the wind gust. So were get that snow blown up in different ways, so really there is no hiding from this right now at this point. We send it back to you guys for now. All right, alex, thanks so much. We do want to talk more about this storm and just how it is performing so far this morning. Well, it is doing well. I give it an aplus for sure. It is really a brutal storm. And everybody, i feel so much for our reporters that are out there. You guys are awesome. Thank you for braving these conditions for us, because it really gives you a good sense of what is happening out there. And you dont want to go out there, dont be like our reporters if you dont have to be. Sit on the couch with us. We will be on for you with the storm coverage all morning long, just have a cup of cocoa on our behalf. But it seems like the winds is making things i always like to call it the xfactor, thats huge deal with. This as we just saw with the breaking news, you know, not helping matters when you have got an emergency situation andean, pushing 50 Miles Per Hour here along the shore point. Not much better inch almost. Because it is snowing so heavily for so many hours already, that is going to lead to blowing and drifting. It already has. Looking forward in the wind gusts, folks, easily drop Storm Force Winds out of this with even the expectation by 3 00 p. M. Today have gusts easily into the 60s. So this is brutal stuff at the shore towns, especially. Thats where it will be at its worse. When upstart to see purple contour on the future models with gusts you know it will be excessive winds. Not confined to the coast it, definitely takes place further inland. The closer to the ocean and the base, thats where you are going to find some of the worse that far winds. It is all northeasterly push. Even by tomorrow, still pretty windy at 7 00 a. M. But at least it is easing up what. It will continue to do so as the hours progress. Going back to storm scan, see a lot of this picture through that course of the morning. Granted handful every little breaks and lulls, drier air sort of wraps in. But you definitely a lot of moisture here as well. Where the radar 101 we always talk about, the darker shades of purple, heavier the snowfall heavily region wide all morning long. Now, as we breakdown our eyewitness weather snowfall map. We do expect that you will likely see at least half foot locally up to foot down through portions of Cape May County. Already nearly made it there in wildwood, in fact, in wildwood, crest, i believe there a foot. Further off the coast, Atlantic City coastline as women. We are expecting solid 18 up to inches up to 2 feet for the greater philadelphia region. Right through the day today. And you might do pretty well in the Lehigh Valley, might need to nudge it up further north depending how we all ends up here. Move things forward in future weather just doesnt let up. Hours and hours past with the same scenario of additional bands of snow coming in. Then finally, back edge comes our way by 11 00 tonight or so, and it is all pulling away through the very early hours. So wake up, maybe finally see the sunshine, but a lot of clean to up do. Winter weather alert you bet you. Millions of people out there and in this. But we are really bearing the brunt here in our local area. Blizzard warnings as a result in effect, right through tomorrow morning. And that does mean you will be dodging some very strong winds, as well. Guys, we send it back to you. All right, thanks so much, katie. We have a long way to go of course before the snow is supposed to taper off. So you want to hang onto your hat if youre outside. Team effort. Sports guy pat gallen qualifying for the Winter Olympics out there today on harbison avenue frankford right now. Pat, waist going on . Reporter ill be working on my downhill skiing quite soon. The side street are really the difficult areas, and weve been wanting to go into the neighborhoods, but really we cant. Captain, i need you for a second, my friends. You guys have a tough job here. But what if anything, does it ever get crazy during snowstorms, less, worse . Depends what people are doing f people listen to what the Weather Forecast remembers saying, stay home, stay in the house, the other thing practicing fire safety, watch the candles, extension cords, common sense will get you through a storm like this. Nothing crazy. People got it watch out for each other, shovel a little snow, little at a time. Dont over exert yourself. Would hear tragedies all the time people having heart attacks while shoveling snow. Take it easy, you snow. And im working a 12 hour shift. You are going 24 hours, i wont complain ever again, i prom us. , no we do what we have to do. All part every our job. You know, we know it coming into it. Were having good time.
