Fire, but once it started, it just started ripping through each one of tees row homes, and spreading to each one, until, again it, got to about eight homes, and then we heard about the deaths. Four children were told are from one family, were not sure what that family has been providing, yet we do know the red cross is on scene at this point. And along with those four children, that were killed, four other people have been confirmed injured. Again, weve seen hot spots and flare ups, later on this morning, as well. But the tragic news, once again, four children killed in this fire. There are other significant injuries in this, as well, as the massive amount of people that have been displaced again, the red cross is on scene, they are assisting, were hearing, that they will be setting up a temporary shelter in this area to assist those families, the families in which we still hear the screaming and the agony from this mornings fire. Coming up next well take a look at the impact from the first hurricane of the season. Plus this if youre headed out to summer concert or festival, you will want to download a few handy apps. Im kara tsuboi, cnet. Com. Ill have my recommendations coming up next in the tech and tragedy to tell but this morning out of southwest philadelphia. Headed to the bathroom, the sealing was just collapsing behind us. Hurricane arthur, rained out, or even changed fourth every july plans as far north as new england. Well, 6 15 right now, this Holiday Weekend store visitors arent getting exactly what they hoped for. Hurricane arthur may be weakening, moving off shore, but it is still causing some dangerous rip tides. As eyewitness News Reporter cleve bryan tells us, art surround not spoiling all of the fun. Down the shore. Just little number it comes to the weather, but most greatful hurricane arthur passed far off shore, this is just the beginning of a big Holiday Weekend. Whether playing arcade games, people found plenty of reasons to celebrate the fourth of july despite rainy start. Hanging out with friend, going walking on the boardwalk, having breakfast, going into arcades. Weve had a great day. The beaches were bear, but people knew it was only temporary as the rest of the weekend promises to provide plenty of sun and fun. Yesterday was beautiful. Tomorrow were going parasailing. Who knows, take the good with the bad when youre at the beach. So what are you going to do . Ill have some. Get out of here, knucklehead. Snack and Souvenir Sales made for happy businesses. It is great. Stopped raining, everybody came out, i think well have a good night. A clear indication that the jersey shore is shaping up to the good Holiday Weekend, but there is one concern. Hurricane arthur kick up big waves that are great for surfing, but dangerous for the casual swimmer. Rip current warnings will remain in effect saturday, bathers need to pay close attention to the lifeguards instructions, and do not go swimming after hours. Would below them out of the water, tell them were going home, strongly suggest they dont go in. Many beaches will have extended hours, until 8 00. If you are going to one of the other shore towns you need to check in go you are planning ongoing to the beach in the evening. In ocean city, cleve bryan, cbs3, Eyewitness News. More than 3,000 people still without power, after downed tree limbs, actually dent in the darr at the intersection of the parkway and ashburn and cheltenham, montgomery county. Now, luckily, the child in the back seat wasnt hurt. Thats good news. In chester county, though, one tree actually fell onto two cars, closing north calm road. One of the drivers suffered minor injuries. Definitely some damage here and there, carol. But largely spared. Wouldnt you say from arthur at least in our part . Oh, yes. I mean, i think though the rain that we saw, and also, the high surf, thats problem pi going to be the most lingering memory of it. Weve got blue skies now, though, arthur is long gone, it is being push out, leaving on its own, High Pressure is here, and look what High Pressure can do when it feels lick it. And this is what it feels like to do today. And weve got low humidity, so the air mass is so comfortable. It is such a departure, from what we dealt with during the week. Our temperatures are great. Our sky conditions are beautiful. Not just through center city, but also, in the poconos, look at this, you can see the shadows, so obviously full sunshine there. And it is beautiful at the shore, too, today, and notice the people are already out on the boardwalk, as weve been talking about this morning, remember, there is the High Surf Advisory along the shore line until noon today. And a moderate at least risk of rip current along the shore. But the farther away arthur gets, the seas will calm down. Still i think this is one weekend that you, but because of the churns that arthur did, careful if you go into the ocean water. Make sure ear area near that lifeguard. 64 degrees if philadelphia, 61 in trenton. 62 degrees in wilmington this morning. It is cool and comfortable out there. These temperatures, actually, i think, look a little warmer than they feel when youre outside, because with the breeze and the low humidity, it is quite a departure. Temperatures are in the middle 60s at this point along the shore line, and look at the ocean, 59 degrees, so it has cooled way down. The ocean was in the 70s last weekend, 59 degrees today. So storm scan3, quiet in our area, arthur is up here, and leaving, and weve got just High Pressure building in. It comes in, invisible when it comes in so it doesnt come in with a lot of fanfare on radar screen, but boy can we feel the difference, it is definitely out there. So sunny, nice, temperatures getting to the lower end of the 80s today, tomorrow more upper end of the 80s, 87 degrees or so tomorrow. High pressure still here. And then, with this front, were going to be watching for this warm air to start to come up. So as long as thats back to the west, the heat and humidity start to pour up here and temperatures will be getting into the 90s monday and tuesday and we will be very close to the 90s once again on wednesday. Future weather, what do woe see . Not much except for sunshine, by monday there is computer model would like to bring some showers off to the west soy, expect to find dry weather at least for the next couple of days. Eightyfour in philadelphia today. Eightyseven tomorrow. Full sunshine, and low humidity. If you are in a pool, watch out for the rubber duckies and this. Oh, man. Bob kel coy pop up in any pool. One of the most frightening things of summer, bob kelly with a snorkle mask. Full sun today, fast cooling, because of the dew points being solo, youll van rate that water off very quickly, you will feel chill when you get out of the pool, if you are like enough to have one. Same deal with the ocean, too, temperatures of 78 degrees, ocean water is 59 degrees. So problem bring wrapped up in a a blanket. Seventyeight at the shore and poconos, slightly warmer 84 threw through philadelphia, but everybody extremely comfortable, slight breeze, sunshine, clear skies tonight. Terrific night ahead. Tomorrow looks almost just as nice, monday we get more humid at 91, and warmer, and 92 on tuesday, is there a shower late in the day on tuesday . Well see. Then wednesday, maybe chance of a shower or thunderstorm, sale deal on thursday, and so it looks like a warm, very typically summer like week after a gorgeous weekend, nicole . And carol, you have got to get a lock for that political gate. Im telling you. But you have got temperatures in the 50s, winds out of the west northwest, so comfortable start to the day, and one that i think you will love after the heat and humidity that weve dealt with a lot this last week. Sixtyfour in philadelphia, 62 wilmington, 61 in trenton, we continue, with another beautiful weekend, and these temperatures along the shore at this point, when you are actually at the shore, not little bit inland, are in the 60s, but notice this ocean, 59 degrees, so it cooled down in a major way, with the impact of arthur. So, here is arthur now, tropical storm, very quickly losing any tropical characteristics, just finally giving up the ghost up there through maine. Weve been left with high surf, High Surf Advisory through noon, and moderate risk of rip currents at the shore. So, make sure youre, if you are going in the water, at 59 degrees, stay where the lifeguards are and past and jetties, even worse around those structures today. Looks nice here, clear skies, well hang on to the clear skies, we can send our thank you notes to the High Pressure system, thats building in from the west. Sunny and nice, lower 84 degrees, lower half of the 80s anyway. 80s probably tomorrow 87, 88 degrees, so we get to the upper half of the 80s tomorrow, High Pressure still here. And then, this front, starts to come through here. Now, before it gets here, it slows down, then the heat, humidity starts to come in in advance of it. Monday looking at temperatures that will get to the lower 90s, humidity comes back, wont be here this weekend. But the humidity remains around here on tuesday, as well. If you see a cloud, thats it, no precipitation this weekend, by sunday looking at great looking weather, too, monday, are their some showers well off to the west, this computer model says so, that can certainly change. And then by tuesday, we might be picking up at least a chance after shower or thunderstorm, otherwise, this weekend, like so many others that we have enjoyed this summer, 84, and beautiful, today, 87 and gorgeous tomorrow, mostly sunny, it will be slightly warmer tomorrow and slightly more humid. Again these Ocean Temperatures, if you go to the shore, love the water last weekends, not same story today. 59 degrees, very strong sunshine today, uv index of nine, the ocean is cool, and there will be a breeze, but beautiful day, moderate risk that far rip current. Poconos, 78 degrees, same temperature, look for the winds out of the northwest, so expect a breeze, ten to 15 miles an hour, extraordinarily comfortable today, we do the very same thing, tonight, as these temperatures drop down to 62 degrees, and then, clear skies, give way to sunshine, tomorrow, 88 degrees, monday, 91, and humid, tuesday 92, and humid. And then wednesday and thursday we see shower or thunderstorm, well have to monitor the weather for that, nicole . Carol, speaking of weather, it has been great for grilling lately, right . But is your grill in tip top shape . In this weeks angies list report jim donovan shows us the second rest to getting the most out of your barbeque grill. Deidra uses her grill year around to keep it running smoothly, she has a pro maintain it. That grill going on 20 years old, and were keeping it like new. Most burners can last five to eight years but eventually they need replacement. Ceramic brickets also need to be row place if they become brittle or break f your grill is hard to light, something called the senator i tubes could be filled with debrisment. They actually have screens on here, why is there a screen on the tube. And it is to keep spiders out. Juan riviera was shock to find a 12foot python, made its way into residential neighborhood. Clearly his neighborhood. Neighbors trying to get control of the python, but too much to handle as you can imagine. They called 911 but took 30 minutes for authorities to get to that scene, so they came up with a clever way to trap that snake. The lady, owner of the house, brought a pillow case, eventually the tail just went into the pillow case, so we had to use the barbeque cover to get it in. Would you need real big pillow case if that was your solution. Well, wildlife officials responding to the scene say the python was not someones pet, they actually believe it came from the wild. But yes, they through it in the barbeque apparently. Yikes. Thats big snake. Right now, theyre in the 40s, when they are in the 40s, youve got dry air mass, last week, they were in the 70s, so, it will be a huge difference, it is a cool start to the day, too, weve got temperatures in the 50s, 60s, we get to 84 degrees with the sunshine and breeze, tonight we drop down to 62 degrees, remember that moderate risk of rip current at the shore, courtesy of now departed arthur. And then, tomorrow, 88 degrees, more sunshine, hotter here, more humid by the time we get to monday, 91 degrees, tuesday back at 92. Maybe later in the day you see shower or thunderstorm. But i think you will notice the humidity definitely and the hotter temperatures, wednesday, were really close to 90 degrees, and still, a chance of a shower or a thunderstorm. So, it is to gets to be very summer like week, but boy july 5th and 6th, they look ideal.
