Battle that lasted for four years. But the years that will be remembered the most were the 13 and a half that he spent in the phillies uniform. To a generation of philadelphia baseball fans Darren Daulton was simply known as dutch. He was the unquestioned leader of one of the most beloved teams in the cities history, 1993 phillies. It was an unlikely collection of players that daulton will todd win. He was the glue that kept a bunch of misfits together in 93, and we had a special year. Darren wouldnt let us fail. Reporter three time allstar catcher had charisma his teammates loved. He wanted to be around the ballpark and wanted to be around him he was infectious with the way he treated people and way went about his business. He played hard, he worked hard , and he was a mans man and he was a ladies dream. Reporter daulton was fan favorite and David Montgomery had a simple explanation for why. Reporter in december, 17 years after that initial transplant kevin started noticing bloating, and swollen angles, something wasnt right his kidney fail. It was the war thing to hear a child suffer and not be able to fix it. Reporter the mother tried she had been scheduled to donate her kidney in may but through testing doctors discovered his body would reject it. So now the boy who became his parentes gift of life, need that is gift himself, a kidney donor with type b or o blood. All i can does look forward reporter kevins not loan. Right now nationally is there close to 117,000 patient as waiting a life saving transplant.
