A somber show of solidarity began an Emotional Press Conference addressing the loss of Corporal Stephen ballard. This briefing today is to provide information, into the tragic events, which resulted in the murder of Delaware State Police Corporal Stephen ballard, yesterday after noon. Reporter three twoyear old, eight year veteran of the Delaware State Police department was killed in the line of duty wednesday afternoon, after a approaching the passenger in this burgundy cara above suspicious activity Corporal Ballard asked to step out of the dodge charger, as he exited the vehicle a struggle ensued, during which time the suspect began firing at Corporal Ballard. Reporter state Police Say Suspect identified as 26 yearold burgon sealy showed no mercy continuing to fire upon the uniform officer in the parking lot of this wawa in the 1600 block of pulaski highway in bear. Corporal ballard immediately went to the ground , suspect then fired multiple round. At close range. Reporter new details revealed about the case were punk wait by tears as fellow troopers embraced the loss this briefing coming on the heels of a near 20 hour standoff with burgon sealy who barricaded himself inside his home in the Mills Development in middletown delaware. Police same under heavy fire throughout the night, they say suspect finally surfaced outside thursday morning firing at police, he was shot by Law Enforcement and died at the scene. After a jarring 24 hours, in neighborhood is once again, starting to settle down, in the meantime, you can see crime scene tape behind me, the fbi, state police, still here, still processing this scene where all of this came to a head. In the cover of darkness, startling explosions, rocked a middletown delaware neigh hood those hunkered down in the safety of their homes said gunfire could be heard for hours. All of a sudden we just started hearing gunshots. It was crazy. There were shots, all night reporter troopers worked to persuade burgon sealy junior to surrender. But they were breaking down the windows, that is what we were hearing and it was from 1 00 in the morning until 5 00. Come out the front door with your hand in the air and shirt off. There are new developments in the trial of Camden County father charged with killing his threeyear old son. Today jury traveled to the spot where Brandon Creatos body was found. Day four and it was time for dj creatos defense attorney to question lead detectives. Creato killed his son and faked a missing child report, the defense says he he was truthful but treated unfairly from the start. The day it happened they kept him in a small room for 12 hours unable to grief with family while allegedly not considered a suspect. Juror saw several pictures. Special attention was given to his clean socks which Authorities Say proved he was carried, and did not walk more than half mile from his father s apartment. Walk was copied by another threeyear old wearing same socks as brandon and these were childs socks as photographed and then presented. Juror after lunch took a field trip to cooper river park to see where Delaware River Port Authority officers found his body. The jury followed the path of the Port Authority officers and their k9 when they got to this path near a creek that lead in the cooper river, one officer went right, the other went down to the left.
