This caused our february snowfall total to take a big hit, climate wise february is our most snowy month, with an average of 8. 8 inches but last month we picked up 2 inches of snowfall, and for our meteorological winter we are down 10. 7 inches of snowfall. That is because our meteorological winter in philadelphia is sixth warmest on record and it is out of 1500 reporting sites across the country, 84 percent recorded warmer then average temperatures, for meteorological winter which encompasses month of december, january, february, but kate, after that extremely mild february, it is more like winter out here.
