That is right, we did get an update on matthews status and track, it has been downgraded to a category two hurricane but still a are dangerous hurricane. This is a live shot, from jacksonville, wjxt our affiliate there and you cannot see much of anything. It is completely blacked out with rain, very heavy rain, gale force wind, still Tropical Storm to possibly Hurricane Force wind in that area. As the eye remains just off of the coast, of jacksonville, florida. That is where worst is right now. Take a look at storm scan three and you can see where eye is, just off shore, that has been very good news for portions of the coast of florida. We have missed land fall around Cape Canaveral by 23 miles a very, very close call, if that would have been 23 miles further inland you would have had maximum amounts of destruction as wind of the eye wall would be right along the shore. They have stayed off shore but matthew has weakened, it is on track to either hug coast or possibly, make another land fall, near charleston, South Carolina as we head into tonight, that is something to watch and latest track of hat you has adjusted slightly further are north portions portions of North Carolina the at risk for strong wind and flooding, tonight into tomorrow. Matthew is now a category two hurricane still expected to miss us completely to the south but it may jump far enough that we tap into some moisture with it as front comes across our region. We could feel indirect impacts from matthew this weekend. Not a direct hit certainly this will stay south of North Carolina and try to curve back once it moves out to sea but there is tropical moisture with this storm along the east coast and front is just the thing to bring it up north. The lets take a look outside and take you first and foremost this is not our area as im sure you can tell this is jacksonville florida. One of the cameras looking out over the river and you can see wind still just completely whipping, very strong, Tropical Storm force wind, in jacksonville as eye lurks just off the coast right now, complete white out conditions with the just rain, coming down sideways in that area. Lots of rain, gusty wind and storm surge flooding, pictures we will show you later in the broadcast certainly of that storm surge flooding impacting jacksonville area and eye still just off the coast, so major problems there. In our region it is completely different scene looking at live neighborhood network. It is a beautiful friday and remains nice out there right now at 73 degrees with a mix of clouds and sunshine. But lets look at the kind of the greater picture here, Bigger Picture shows matthews rain, it really is direct impact of matthew, relegate todd southern South Carolina but there is moisture. That is what were seeing right here. Rain showers moving into north caroline, virginia, even west virginia, and here is the front, so this timing wise is very interesting. This front will try to cross through our region during the day tomorrow, it will tap into some of this moisture and bring it north azamat you itself moves northward so we are going to start to sees heavier rainfall amounts especially for North Carolina, portions of virginia and even into maryland and possibly southern delaware as this storm continues to swirl. Tropical satellite again shows that eye just off the coast of jacksonville. Here are current hurricane warnings from northern florida all the way through the georgia coastline, South Carolina and even southern and North Carolina now under a hurricane warning through tonight, up toward hat race it is a hurricane watch. As we head through future weather, here comes the front, there is storm, notice heavier rain with this is what we call less center predecessor rain event, as the front moves in it pull that is moisture in and that heavy rain in the midatlantic region. We will not see heaviest of it but as front comes through we will tap in that moisture down the shore and delaware could pick up pretty steady downpours heading in to tomorrow night and even sunday morning. Reporter it started when Gloucester County Christian School principal don net it says he found a small device in the wooded area behind a school where cruz had recently cleared a path the for a new nature trail. I found this little piece of device that looked like a small deodorant can. I googled it, i found out it was something that could be explosive. And i called 911. Reporter more than a dozen authorities along with the bomb squad from the joint Maguire Dixon Lakehurst base arrived on the scene intentionally detonating the projectile, likely a live round. Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who robbed the same Dunkin Donuts twice in 48 hours, both times, using a creative way of entering the store.
