Back now in parts of delaware, new jersey, are trying to dry out after a day of drenching rain. All of that rain flooded roads here in Sussex County, delaware, take a look at the bench. Theyre still under Flood Warning this weekend. Coastal flooding also a concern down the shore. Heres what it look like in stone harbor, where some intersections as you see in the individual yes were completely underwater, after all of that rain. Still not rain free today, still will run into couple of showers specially this afternoon, also the potential for coastal flooding continues at the jersey shore, delaware beaches. Wont see the heavy rain like we had the past 48 hours. Some improvement. To be is the better day of the weekends, should see sunshine, keeping things much drier. Outside right now to ocean city right now, it will get little wet later this morning, into the afternoon, more showers in the forecast. Still, cool day. We have the breeze coming in right off the ocean. Winds is going to calm down little bit, northeast, 15, maybe to up 20 miles per hour. So, thats lighter than what it has been. So the ocean should calm down little bitment still tides running high. Just watch out. Times of high tide for some of the minor coastal flooding, coastal Flood Warning continues until 1 00 this afternoon. Check out rain amounts, over the past 48 hours. Going down to southern delaware, harbison, delaware, look at that over 13 inches every rain impress i have stockily 11. 05, milford, delaware, coming in over 10 inches every rain, even the capitol city of delaware over seven. And blackbird, New Castle County coming over five. A lot of locations in south jersey, Cape May County got four, 5 inches from this storm, and again, some additional rain today, but probably not measuring that many inches today. So maybe another quarter of an inch or so. See steadier showers just off shore. Now, some of this may get into far eastern new jersey late this morning into the afternoon, but still, couple he scattered showers off to the south and west, may run into the delaware vale. Not everybody sees the showers, but have the umbrella around just in case. Best chance to see the wet weather will be coming into the afternoon. Temperature wise, still cool day. It is cloudy. It will be gloomy, dont expect to see any sun. Low mid 60s right now, into southern new jersey, and delaware. We may get close to 70 for the areas south of the city. Mid upper 50s around philadelphia, this hour. And then off to the north, still pretty chilly, 49 mount pocono, 55 in allentown, northeast winds is just driving that cooler air in, it is keeping the clouds around, as well. So without the sunshine, this time of year, it is tough to warm things up. At least the winds calming down, this afternoon, ten up to 15 miles per hour, tonight, calm down even more, and tomorrow, little more pleasant, light winds across the reg, should see peaks every sunday shine. Speaking every wind, we have a lot of it with Hurricane Matthew flirting with category five status, winds at 155 miles per hour. Just over 350 miles south of jamaica, look at the track, again, eventually off to the west, northwesterly, northerly turn as it heads toward jamaica, into the bahamas. Mountains over cuba. Timing uncertain, if it does impact the Delaware Valley probably wont be until late next week, into the weekends, still time for things to change. Back home, gloomy today, little breezy, couple of showers possible into the afternoon. Tomorrow, still cant rule out stray shower in the afternoon, but much better sunshine, get back to the 70s, monday looks good, as well. So we time things out for you. Not much happening through the morning hours. Some showers do develop to the south. Theyll come through later this afternoon, depends where you are, you could run into few showers, still scattered shower, later on later on throus evening, tomorrow much better. Still clouds sunday morning, but into the afternoon we start to break the clouds up little bit. Then that helps warm the temperatures up. Today though stuck into the 60s, tonight, kind of the same deal, not much change. Tomorrow though some mid, maybe even upper 70s, showing up. So gloomy day today. Few showers, 68 degrees, tonight, still the shower chance around at 62. Here is the extended forecast, see the 70s returning, and keeping it dry through much of next week, still got to watch the track of matthew for next weekend. Rahel, back over to you. See the spin, just near cincinnati right now, still picking up moisture, so ahead of the system still have more showers to go. Most of them to our west this morning. But, couple of scattered showers could develop into the afternoon, steadier rain, just off shore, that is close call, maybe clipping far eastern new jersey, late this morning, into the afternoon. Fiftys to low 60s right now, not going to be whole lot of change in the temperatures today, because of the clouds, and the northeast breeze, 64 in ocean city, as well as cape may, 67 in rehoboth beach. Persistent northeasterly winds, still backing up the water little bit along the jersey shore, delaware beaches, even up the delaware bay. Minor tidal flooding possible around times of high tied this morning, high tides running 8 00 to 9 30 on the ocean front little later in the back k bays. Check out Hurricane Matthew. Again, strong category four winds at 155 miles per hour, moving slowly to the west, but again, the overall track, changed back it the north, now, these are the forecast models, still, some agreement, or disagreement on where exactly or how close it gets to the east coast later in the week next week. But there are some signs that should turn back out to sea, but when does that turn happen . Is it close enough to bring us some rain . That does happen, that will be late in the week, still several days away, a lot of changes coming up with that forecast. Back home though, High Pressure well across southern canada, we still have the low pressure back to the ohio vale. Keeps the clouds around. Couple of showers, tomorrow, with the low weakening, moving to the north, we should see few peaks every sunday, same deal into monday, rain chances really start decreasing, not whole lot of rain today. I mean, we may pick up. 10 of an inch, maybe up to quarter of an inch in some of the hardest hit areas, nothing like we have seen since thursday. Temperatures today, we struggle to get to the upper 60s. Neighbor low 70s, southern delaware, into southern new jersey, but overall, chilly day. Low 60s up into the Lehigh Valley berks county around the city, mid upper 60s, low 60s to the northwest suburbs, and then you go south jersey, warmfront tries to move on through, we could hit the low 70s along the shore, in Cape May County. But for today, overall, just gloomy day, cloudy skies, cool, few showers around, especially this afternoon, High Temperature up to around 68 degrees. And then tonight, mostly cloudy, still the shower chance, we drop to 62, not whole lot of change in the temperatures, but tomorrow, should see few peaks every sunday shine, getting us up to 75 degrees. Monday still stays on the mild side. That is 75, partly sunny. Overall temperatures should stay near average, through the first full week of october, with overall dry conditions, the exception will be next weekend, we have just got to watch and see where matthew is now. We dont peak to our fall color for fall foliage until late october. Looks like this could be decent season. Check it out. Pretty soon the green leaves on area trees will turn and form to the orange, red and browns every autumn. Summer was hot and dry, and if we dont get good amount of rain soon it could impact the fall colors. Every fall we are treated to mother natures brilliant display, but this year, could be a little less colorful, because it has been so dry. In fact, parts of our area are under a drought watch. Philadelphia, chester, delaware, berks, lehigh, northampton counties are affected. Before long, trees across the region will start to turn. And right now, the weather is crucial for the fall colors. More rain is on the way into the weekends, and unsettled pattern, that could put a dent in our deficit. That means, the timing of the storm could be important for late peepers, but not just about the rain. Bob, from the morris arboretum, says the recipe for perfect fall colors also a perfect fall day. Weather impact the intensity of the colors sometimes. You get the brighter reds, the brighter oranges if you have nice blue sky days, and cool, crisp pull your sweater on nights. That gives you great fall colors. And you may have heard that our fall foliage is running behind schedule this year. Thats just a mitt. The length of day and night is responsible for turning the leaves. That doesnt change from year to year. The average peak in the philadelphia area is late october so start planning your get away now. There is never a bad fall. Never a bad time to get out with your kids, get out with your friends and look at whats going on and enjoy it. Some of the best place toss view the foliage are the morris and tyler arboretum, wissahickon and ft. Washington state parks, valley forge, the belmont plateau and fairmount park, or pretty much anywhere you can see a hillside.
