Investigators tell us the 33 year old victim was walking home from the store, at 25th and moore, when he heard gunfire last night. He ran home, realized he was shocked, and called police. Officers found eight shell casings, at the scene. Now the shooting overnight happened less than a mile from where two others were shot less than 24 hours earlier. One of those victims, a three year old boy shot inside his own home. That gunman is still at large this morning, Eyewitness News reporter jan carabeo picks up the story live at the Childrens Hospital where the boy is recovering. Good morning, jan. As you mentioned, the shooting Investigation Continues today, and so does the search for the shooter. Now, if you take a look at the video, you can see the scene as it unfold in the broad daylight yesterday. All unfolded monday morning just before noon on the 1300 block of south newkirk street in the citys graduation ferry section. Now, police say, a gunman approached a man who was sitting on his porch. Two got into some sort of argument. At some point the unknown gunman opened fire striking the man in the leg. Now, the shooting may have been a case of mistaken identity, but because police say the shooter then went nextdoor and open fire into that home, thats when this three year old was shot once in the leg. Were told the childs father may have been the intended target. Eyewitness news spoke with adult victims motherinlaw who is upset with what she calls a lack of action by the neighborhood. Two new york officers were shot and killed saturday by a gunman promising revenge for those death.
