The Cumberland ValleySchool District sent a letter to parents say its canceled outdoor recess on monday administrators are worried about potential harm students look at the sun the district recognized that being able to see the eclipse is a rare opportunity, but decided student safety is more important. Next weeks eclipse will allow nasa to study the earth like never before. Nasa will conduct several experiments inn clueing National Eclipse Ballooning project. 72 balloons sent skyward to look down on the earths atmosphere. The study will see how the atmosphere responds to the sudden loss of sunlight. Derek pits chief a astronomer at the Franklin Institute says this is one project nasa is gearing up for monday. Up until about 11 00 in the morning. You start to see how that sun really penetrated through the cloud deck helped scower all this away an lot of low level moisture nice light wind to allow to form in the first place. Heating of the dog solar inch, poof thats goes the fog. It cleared out nicely. Fog advisories expired as expected. Storm scan3 is totally clear. But when i zoom it out thats not the case. Youve got two main features to look at. First is one that is starting to really show signs of organization. Back towards the central planes. This is the system that brings in that next potential for showers and storms here locally. But then out to sea step over here, youve got pretty nice and well defined eye with gert. Currently still category one hurricane but its still expec expected to strengthen as it continues its track to the north and east so the good news here, its staying out to sea. No direct impact to any of the north american coastline. Let alone here locally. But we will still see the strengthen and because of the essentially making its closest pass to the jersey shore and the delaware beaches youve got some churned up surf as a result of this. Now looking at the rest of the track from this storm system completely bypass but even maintain hurricane strength as it bypasses newfinland and novaa scotia is a which is a little nuts. Its not out of the question certainly, but the fact that we dont have those really warm water temperatures its just how the pattern is unfolding. Keeping things nice and strong within the core of that system so it will maintain hurricane strength potentially as far north as the hudson bay which again thats big deal. Meanwhile, back here on our beaches, youve got some pretty fantastic conditions for the rest of the day. The wind flow is quite light out of the northwest so its terribly humid. Water mid 70s uv index is quite high. Rip current risk because of gert relatively close is still high. If youll take dip when those waves always do so near lifeguard especially on days like this. Meanwhile, talking dew points. Remember the lower the dew point the dry drier the air. These arent all that low kind of low in the mount pocono area but you get into philly and the especially out towards some of those western suburbs through southern new jersey into the 70s with those dew points thats pretty uncomfortable. Thats only something thats going to get worse with time. Taking a look forward, well be into that magenta unsuvable category come the tail end of the week because well be sitting between systems between fronts more specifically that ends up being the soupy yesterday day of this relatively steamy forecast but the fog has now lifted the sun is back i expect well heat up to 90 degrees later on today. Dipping down to pretty typical 69degree low tonight. Then recently izzi was at the indiana fairgrounds for a goat showing competition with her goat wish bone when she learned her mom passed away unexpected unexpectedly. So dozen of cops and their husbands and wives showed up on the fairgrounds making sure she wouldnt be left alone on her special day. We all are one family and thats whats important, and we all have to stick together. Though her heart was breaking izzi put her shoulders back, head held high and goat through its paces.
