Well, every once in a while, loved ones bravery celebrated as much during life, in part, because of humility, but rather celebrated unexpectedly from the grave. Through grace. And todays love it, family received gentle reminder who exactly their loved one was, and the many lives touched along the way. Her father, Corporal Edward dunn, was just her dad. Joke he was her chauffeur, fishing companion, great story teller and most importantly wonderful father. Connie new through different store thats he had served in world war ii, and that he had also been wounded. But Corporal Dunn was never really one to talk about his time in service. But rather, focus conversations around his duties as elected mayor. Unfortunately, before being mature enough to ask him more in depth questions about his life, connie lost her dad at the young age of 14. That was in 1970. Now, all these years later, connie is being visited from the grave. She received a phonecall from the state Treasury Office saying that there was unclaimed property in her name. And to her surprise, inside the safety deposit box lay a purple heart for her. The highest military honor one can receive in the armed forces. Connie says shell never fully understanded all the sacrifices her dad made to earn that purple heart. But she does have a new title for him. Every persons hero. By the way state Treasury Offices currently have hundreds of unclaimed military medals belonging to veterans, and their families. Happy to see that number is one less. So can you only imagine, someone leaves awe purple heart that you never even new, your father or mother, no less, and then, they dont take it and give it somewhere else. They give it to you.
