Courthouse to be cleared. Brooke, jim, afternoon, monsignor lynns hearing anticry a. M. I can, in being if a, set trial date for may first, but when we were leaving the courtroom, that the fire alarms were going off, sheriffs deputies evacuating everybody, from the criminal Justice Center, and there are two patients that we are aware of right now, injured, in what is being described as elevator incidents, one elevator apparently malfunctioned, debris fell inside the elevator, and injured a woman. But, first, a sergeant from the Sheriffs Department was also injured. You can see, hes being taken away in a ambulance. And rushed to hahnemann hospital. That happened just in the last half hour. Hes not identified just yet. But, of course this was an all hands on deck emergency response, the fire department, the Sheriffs Department on the scene, and of course, the medics, and as the medics were moving up into the building, we are understanding that the sergeant from the Sheriffs Department was injured separately from the first injury, woman in the basement, she says, when something went wrong with the elevator. She tells us that debris fell on her, we spoke to her, as she was being wheeled into the back after ambulance, have a listen. Reporter maam, are you okay . What happened . I dont know, something exploded inside the elevator. What are your injuries . I dont know, thats why theyre taking me to the hospital. How many floors did you fall . I was in the basement. I dont think it went anywhere. Fell down on top of the elevator, exploded. And to set the scene for you, as we were interviewing monsignor lynns criminal defense attorney, people were spilling out of the criminal Justice Center. We were moved from the one sidewalk on this side of the street over to the other sidewalk where there are jurors, judges, lawyers, sheriff officials, defendants, you name it, theyre here, they spilled out on to the sidewalk at about 10 30, and breaking news right now, we are told that the criminal Justice Center will be shutdown for the remainder of the day, while the state licenses and Inspections Department comes in, and figures out what is going on with at least two elevators here, and they are not the public elevators, they are the bank of elevators used by Court Officials here, at the criminal Justice Center. Of course lots going on here, the latest starting on Eyewitness News at 5 00. See you then. Live in center city outside cjc, joe holden. Thanks, joe. Well, it is a gorgeous august day with that low humidity making it so very pleasant. Were hoping it stays this way. Lets get first look at the forecast with meteorologist, lauren casey, live on the cbs3 skydeck. Yes, feeling great out here, warm sun, on my back, but humidity levels, not oppressive. Yesterday a gorgeous day, and today, kind of a repeat. We have that sunshine, and we will keep humidity levels on the lower side certainly by august standards, and a good looking view just as nice as we check in on the live neighborhood network, Cape May County courthouse, looking nice. 73 degrees, casino of cool, much cooler start to the day today, with temperatures dropping into the 60s, even into the 50s, across parts of the area. But, with all of that sunshine and dry air in place, temperatures have warmed up pretty quickly throughout the morning hours. Were now at 81 degrees in philadelphia, 80 in the lehigh valley, and some nice pleasant upper 70s right now down the shore, calling in at 73 degrees, mount pocono. Our comfort index, dew point hanging around that 60 degrees mark, it is not too bad. As we head into the day tomorrow, though, especially the second half of the day, dew points will start to creep back up and give us a pretty oppressive start to the upcoming weekends, but for the rest of your thursday afternoon, looking and feeling beautiful. Mostly sunny conditions, with just some friendly fair weather cumulus clouds, as we head into the 9 00 hour this evening, really nice, mostly clear temperature near 78 degrees, but we will talk about that more sticky day, the more stormy day of the weekend, and then the nicer day of the weekends in your forecast coming up in just a couple of minutes, back to you. Thanks, lauren. Stabbing attack in london has left an American Woman dead and five other hurt. Now police still arent sure what sparked the violence, but say the suspect may have been mentally ill. Yesterday, beautiful day, monday, little stormy, but things got better as the week went on. Certainly a lot better for august than july. Remember july . Yes, i think we want to forget it. We had 16 days with High Temperatures in the 90s, in philadelphia, and july, so, august, so far, at least, has been much kinder to us, in the delaware valley, and that is true right now. Getting a live look down the shore, ocean city, boardwalk, looking good, little spars, but you know it is midday on thursday it, will get much busier im sure headed into tomorrow and the upcoming weekend. Nice conditions prevailing all across the delaware vale. Live look at center city philadelphia, there is a couple of clouds and seeing some high serous clouds, do have low cumulus clouds, but when they are flat like that an indication that the atmosphere is very stable. And we have no rain to worry about, 81 degrees your current temperature right now, winds out of the east, so nice sea breeze going on across the area, 82 degrees, what it feels like when you factor in some of our little bit of humidity, low temperatures this morning, casino of cool start certainly by summertime standards, at 60 in the lehigh valley, sort of off, started off low 50s in the poconos, even needing long sleeves, 66 in philly, low 60s down the shore. But temperatures now with all of the sunshine, dry air in place, warming up, 81 degrees in philly, 80 in the lehigh valley, still hanging onto mid 70s lancaster, but 79 degrees, approaching 80 in millville. Dew points, they tell us about that sticky factor, kind of better scale than relative humidity, because that percentage will change, especially during the overnight period. But, this will always stay stable, and give us a good depict tour of how terrible or how nice it feels outside. And when you have dew points in the 50s, it feels pretty comfortable, low 60s, certainly, by august standards, makes it feel nice, when you step outside. And that will hold true through the day today. Sunny, bit warmer than yesterday, up to 87 degrees, right around average for us, overnight tonight, no problems, few passing clouds, pleasant conditions, falling back to 68 degrees. Storm scan3, not much to see. Couple of passing clouds, no rainfall to worry about, and as we head into the day tomorrow another mostly sunny day, temperatures up into the 80s, right around average, but colds front drops in on saturday. This will be our stormy day, our sticky day, and High Temperature will jump up back to 09 degrees, but then, by sunday, cold front sweeps through, High Pressure builds in, actually canadian High Pressure, some drier air building in again, sunshine returns, with temperatures in the 80s, so thats going to be the better day of the weekends, but future weather will folk in saturday, what to expect, could see few spotty showers, thunderstorms specially north and west of the city even saturday morning, and then as we get into the prime heating of the day see the showers and thunderstorms develop in association with the cold front. Moving through during the afternoon and evening hours, and then clearing out across the area by late evening, on saturday, few of the storms could be on the stronger side, marginal risk of Severe Weather across the delaware valley, again, this is on saturday. Otherwise, looking good in the poconos, for tomorrow. And down the shore, as well, abundant sunshine, to end off the work week, High Temperatures low 80s, along the coast. Upper 70s in the poconos. And then looking forward to the upcoming weekend, in the city, humid conditions, on saturday, with the chance of storms, but sunday, monday, tuesday, wednesday, all beautiful conditions.
