Investigator say a Township Police officer struggled with the driver of a car after they say he sped away from a traffic stop. The officer shot the driver in the lower body during the struggle. He was not seriously wounded and the officer was not injured. And authorities in bucks county charge three teens in the shooting death of a former penn Ridge High School football player. Investigators say isaiah louis was gunned down during a robbery at colt Memorial Park in perkasie. The shooting happened about 12 30 this morning. Louis was a 2015 penn ridge graduate. Also, investigators say engine pieces from the American Airlines plane that caught fire friday at chicagos Ohare Airport have been found thousands of feet away. A piece of the engine was found nearly 3,000 feet away and another was found about 1500 feet. Investigators determine the fire on the runway was caused by engine failure. No word yet on what caused the engine to actually fail. Meantime the Investigation Continues into a fed ex plane that caught fire while landing at a florida airport yesterday. Fedex says the planes only crew members were both pilots who escaped unharmed the pilots told authorities they believe the left landing gear collapsed on the runway. Now the Supreme Court will consider what some are calling a landmark case for transgender rights. It involves a Virginia High School student who was born female but identifies as male. Cbs correspondent marlie hall reports. Reporter graph vin grim is the transgender High School Student at the center of what is now a Supreme Court case. The high court will decide whether the female born 17yearold can use the boys restroom despite ob objections from the Gloucester Public School district in virginia. Its hugely significant. Reporter cbs news chief Legal Correspondent jan crawford says the courts ruling could be used to resolve similar disputes across the country. For North Carolina to texas, this decision could really set the law for how schools must treat transgender students. Reporter the Obama Administration says transgender students should be allowed to use restrooms and locker rooms consistent with their gender identities but more than a dozen states have issued ahold on that directive sparking protests and lawsuits. For the past two years, grim has been extremely vocal in the fight against his school. To me this is one way that that the school is saying we dont believe that who you are is legitimate. Reporter if if the ninth seat on the court isnt filled how will this affect the case. If they divide four to four then the Lower Court Ruling would stand and that would mean that the student would win but it wouldnt set a nationwide precedent.
