Streets you can see the back window of this van has been shattered. Im told that an officer from the 39th Police District fired several shots at a us suspect at a second location. Its believed that officer shot the arm suspect at least one time. The officers were initially call out to 17th for a shooting there they found a mini van that had been shot out by as many as 15 bullets at around 7 30. That same van also crashed into utility pole. They found the driver, a 23yearold man lying on the ground shot in the torso. The shooting happened right near a church that had people inside it at the time. Investigators say a second man then got out of the back of the van as officers arrived and began to quickly walk away. Police say they noticed the man had begun with an extended clip and the officers began to chase the man down about a block away to lavish street. Thats when the officer ordered the male to stop, drop the weapon, show his hands stop running, the male refused. He turned, he pointed the weapon in the direction of both officers. Thats when one officer dischargeed his weapon. Striking the suspect in the torso. Reporter police say the suspect dropped these two guns after the officer fired. The suspect who is 24 years old was shot a total of three times. But its not clear how many times he may have been shot by police. Investigators are looking into the possibility that he may have been shot while he was in the van before officers arrived. A total of 20 shots might have been fired here tonight. Both suspects right now are at Temple University hospital. Theyre in stable condition. No officers were injured.
