Reporter at the time of the accident the streets here were crowded with pedestrians. Never think that someone would like fall on you while youre trying to walk down the street. Very unfortunate accident. Reporter tonight police are obtaining a search warrant to search that dorm room here but right now theres no evidence to suggest foul play or suicide. This app to have been just an accident but this investigation is still very much on going. As for the 44yearold woman who was rushed to Hahnemann University hospital tonight she is listed in stable condition and she is expected to be okay. A traffic stop goes bad and Police Return fire shooting a suspect. This all happened on vanderver acts blocks from a pro police rally. Natasha brown has more. Reporter swarms of officers respond a Police Involved shooting in wilmington. What began as routine traffic stop quickly escalated into much more shortly after 5 00 p. M. As the officers approached the vehicle struggle ensued with one of the passengers. At which point in time the officer were fired upon. At least one officer returned fire. One of the officers shot the suspect. His condition is unknown but both officers were not injured. This violence taking place across town on the heels of a pro police rally in rodney square. Dozens show their support for local Law Enforcement officers. This rally following marches around the country spawned by protestersprotesters upset by grand juries involving cases with police in ferguson missouri and new york. Reporter 11yearold gracie west is fresh back and still buzzing from her trip to rome where she and her brother were able to meet pope francis. He was so welcomeing and he was so he was so nice. He was very like we were a part of his familiarly. Grace was diagnosed with neuroblastoma just over a year ago. Doctors found tumor in her bones were she was just 10. Shes now on her tenth round of team mow therapy. Its scary look you never know whats going to happen through any of this but oy feel like you just have to stay positive through it. The amount of tests the amount of blood work and transfusions and chemo and radiation and shes still smiles through it. It was her wish from the make a Wish Foundation to meet the pope. Last month, she and her family flew to saint peters square. They were able to get close enough to pope francis during his birthday mass. Where gracie shook his hand and give him a birthday card she says the visit means so much because its her faith thats helped her through it all. Im very big believer things happen for reason. If i wasnt diagnosed i wouldnt have had that opportunity. Its also been kind of empowering to see her overcoming all of the challenges and i feel like this whole experience as a whole is one big hurdle. Grace started a foundation called cookie crumblies to help other kids fight cancer, too. I do feel like every kid in the hospital is the strongest human being out there. That allows those workers to leave their jobs to care for a new child or a sick family member. The president said today the move could help millions of americans. Theyve got kids or theyve got an ailing parent juggling both doing right by their families and making a living can be tough. The president also called on the congress to pass whats call the healthy familys act which would grant all americans seven days year of paid sick time. He is expected to push that issue on tuesday during the state of the union address. The number of flu deaths in delaware this season has now climbed to 13. There were two deaths this week. All but one of the deceased is over 70 years old and all 13 had underlying conditions. Right now the temperature is only 24 degrees we known inform kathy says not much wind tonight there. Little bit farther to the north and to the west, gary says in warminster 23 degrees. And heres one of the coldest temperatures i can find. Chief Chuck Pressler says a cold night with a testimony cher of only 18 degrees. In delaware little bit milder sitting at 28 degrees. Jason is reporting in middletown a little bit of wind right now out of the south and out of the west but definitely a clear sky across the region. Take look at these temperatures. Locally in philadelphia its 30 degrees. In dover we have 28. 24 in lang caster but the cold is pretty much everywhere. We have a High Pressure system that is keeping us cold. 28 degrees in state college. Pittsburgh at 29 and cleveland sitting at their degrees. The area of snow is because of this a weak clipper system with the core of the snow well to the north. But we see a front moving through associated with this and that will kick up the wind tomorrow. So, yes, well have the sun yes, temperatures will be seasonal about 40 degrees, but the wind kicking up at about 30 miles an hour at times as far as the gusts are concerned will make it feel colder than that. Dont be deceased by that sunshine and that temperature. Saturday in the wake of that front colder with temperatures only around 30 degrees. And and that we warm it up nicely for sunday but guess what a oneday warm up. Temperatures well into the 40s but well watch this area of low pressure and depending on its exact track will determine how much rain we get. Right now our european model is saying well see at least an inch of rain and maybe some wind out of this thing. Our gfs model is saying not so much. I think the gfs will be coming around and right now it looks leak well seal and a half an inch to inch of rain out of that sunday afternoon into sunday evening. Overnight par the cloudy and chilly. The low temperature 27 much skies will be mostly sunny the many biggest many pack will be the win. Temperatures around 40. On the eyewitness weather seven day forecast check this out.
