Greg argos is live in center city where talks are ongoing but time is running out. Reporter thats exactly right, nicole. Negotiations are still happening like you mentioned. Both sides at the table. In fact the assistant chairman for septa updated us just 15 minutes ago and he calls the talks, quote, very positive. Right now there is no resolution. So that means that potentially in one hour the citys trolley system, the citys bus system, the citys subway system could come to a screeching halt. The strike is set for midnight. That is 59 minutes from now and septa Officials Say if that happens, like i mentioned all cities, buses trolleys and trains will return to their depots. Talks are going well and sources say the Union President could suspend the clock and keep the system running if there continues to be Forward Motion in these negotiations. Even so septa officials are urging riders to watch for an update about service interruption. Were posting them on our website. A spokesperson for the union says there are three major issues negotiators are trying to work out. I do hope that there is a fair agreement. But they do need to consider all the people that rely on their service. Its upsetting that now im faced with the option of getting fired from work, walking two and a half hours or spending 40 on an uber. Its rld. And that was greg argos reporting. Were told there are three sticking points. Pension benefits, Health Care Cost and meal and break time. Sources close to the talks say if the pension issue can be fixed, the strike will not happen. If a strike does happen, it will affect septa buses, trolleys and trains. The regional rails will not be affected. A Union Spokesman says if there is a strike, we will hear from the union at 12 05 a. M. A medical mystery is being investigated in montgomery county. Its a lung infection that has been linked to water. The illness is rare but the number of patients is growing. Reporter the unlikely victims are white, thin, post menopausal women who live in affluent neighborhoods around the main line. Its a lung infection similar to tuberculosis thats caused by a bacteria found all over, in soil, the air, and mainly in water. This is in all of our water. Were all exposed to it every day when we take a shower. Reporter pulmonologist does not want to cause hysteria. She treats about 100 patients a year. Symptoms include a cough and fatigue. All of this white area, thats all infection and inflammation.
