A government spokesman said a suicide car bomber detonated the explosion in an area close to many foreign embassies, under two miles from the u. S. Embassy. The french and german embassies were damaged in the attack. The target of the attack was unclear and more than 150 were wounded. Most are civilians. The explosion was so powerful windows shattered nearly a mile from the blast sight and more than 40 cars and trucks were either destroyed or damaged.
