The high profile foreign visit comes amid yet another damning report focusing on mr. Trump and russia. The bombshell report published in the New York Times tuesday cites four current and former american officials with direct knowledge of the fbis classified probe into russias meddling in the 2016 election. The unnamed Officials Say federal agents are sifting through a trove of intercepted communications showing members of the president s campaign and other Trump Associates had repeated contacts with senior russian intelligence officials in the year before the election. Among them, Paul Manafort who served as mr. Trumps Campaign Chairman for several months. Theres nothing that would conclude me anything different has changed with respect to that time period. White House Press Secretary sean spicer denied any pre election contact tuesday amid a barrage of questions over Michael Flynns abrupt resignation as National Security adviser. The former Lieutenant General was ousted monday night over conversations with the Russian Ambassador back in december about u. S. Sanctions. The white House Counsel reviewed and determined there is not an illegal issue but rather a trust issue. That decision came at least three weeks after the fbi and the Justice Department notified the white house. Flynn may have lied about the interactions. Democrats and republicans remain divided over whether the issue calls for a public hearing. The Intelligence Committee has been looking into this thing all along. If there was any emergency at this moment in the history of this country this is the moment. The president is expected to name a new National Security adviser by the end of the week. Last week the main spillway started showing signs of stress, concrete gave way opening a massive hole the size of a football field. The emergency backup was opened but that spillway is also badly eroded. 125 construction crews have been working around the clock to repair the damage. This is an aggressive, you know, proactive attack to address the erosion concerns. Reporter two helicopters are transporting concrete slabs and bags of gravel over to dump trucks.
