The Standing Rock sioux say the Pipeline Route will destroy sacred burial and prayer sites and they fear the pipelines proposed path under the Missouri River could contaminate water. The Consortium Funding the 3. 7 billion dollar pipeline that will run through four states from north dakota to illinois say its safe. Because when you find yourself in jail, you think maybe people dont like me, maybe something is wrong with me. But thats not the case. We just you know, people mess up. Those messups, still haunt every man in this room. Stories of addiction, drug dealing. Mistakes they long to forget. Coping. By praying. Kevin i prayed for peace for my heart and in my mind, because when youre sitting in that cell, you become very lonely, very depressed, each man talking about what and who they pray for. Friends. Nephews. Fiances. Those who live. Outside of these walls. Deacon jeff harris with the help lead the bible studies. He says the feelings these inmates share, end up teaching something. We just feel as if weve been ministered too. We laugh together we cry together. They show just profound wisdom. A wisdom found in kevin. Kevin this may sound a little different but im actually glad i came to jail and had this time ally crutcher getting back on track the goal for every warehouse people. Additionally the n tsb says the bus wasnt even supposed to be on history of talley road, we just ascertained that talley road was not on the designated route for that school bus. As for walkers condition at the time of the accident toxicology results do not indicate that he was under the influence. We received toxicology reports back today from the Tennessee Bureau of investigations that shows no trace of alcohol or drugs in the drivers system. Im reid binion reporting. This morning, a registered sex offender is behind bars and another person is in the hospital after a crash. The iowate stopping a car for speeding in Johnson County tuesday morning. The driver kept going before crashing on a gravel road. Crews were out yesterday working to fix the pole the car hit. Jeff rangel, junior was arrested. A girl was in the car with him. We know they knew each other. Authorities were very concerned when they learned he was on the sex offender registry. We caught up with one man who saw the chase go right past him. 8085 miles an hour when he went by me. I was in my lane on the tractor, but the trooper later told me that he had him clocked at 100. The girl is in critical condition. Rangel faces charges and is being held in the Johnson County jail. Firefighters are needed at a home in cedar falls. Wayne State University officer collin rose died yesterday a day after he was shot in the head near the campus in detroit. Officers from as far away as kentucky came to michigan. Those who knew him remember him as an outgoing young man, who was its tragedy its tragedy for all enforcement right now its gttoa respect, a show of honor. He was 29 years old. A suspect has been arrested. Another Community Comes out in full force to honor a fallen officer. Hundreds marched from alamo plaza to Police Headquarters in san antonio. Theyre honoring detective ben wrote a traffic ticket. Police arrested a man who said he was angry about an ugly custody battle and quote lashed out at somebody who didnt deserve it. Police dash cam video shows an officer bringing down a man who tried to ambush him. It happened in idaho. An officer pulls over a car without a plate. The owner is wanted for not showing up in court. The suspects mother is driving the car. When the officer walks behind it the suspect jumps out of the trunk and attacks. The officer wrestles him to the ground. The suspect and his mother were continuing coverage this morning a new strategy for pipeline protesters. They now driving around north dakota to get their message out. Police say theyre disrupting traffic. Police stopped several cars. Protesters say that was not justified. I think pulling people over and having assault rifles and gas masks and like your full riot the pipeline would run through four states including iowa. Almost a year after a deadly accident a bus driver has been fired. Former cyride driver Benjamin Clague had been on paid administrative leave making more than 28thousand dollars after the crash in ames last year. Emmalee jacobs a Center Point Urbana grad and a student at iowa state was killed. Clague was sentenced to 30 days in an accident as a part of a plea deal. Prosecutors say they couldnt prove a more serious charge against him because it was unclear if he immediately knew he had hit jacobs with the bus. Kwwl reached out to cyride asking why clague was just now fired but we have not yet heard back. This morning, there are still many questions about what happened to a two yearold girl found by herself in wright county. The girl was found in the town authorities were able to identify her and shes now with human services. The sheriff says calls from the public helped as they tried to identify the girl and her family but no new information about the childs parents has been released. An iowa man could spend up to 25 years in prison for robbing a bank. Brandon brown admitted stealing more than four thousand dollars from the f and m bank in monticello in july. Brown showed a weapon and this morning, many eastern iowa families are worrying and wondering where their loved ones will live next year. Yesterday, we learned ridgeway place in waterloo will close in february. More than 70 seniors who live there will have to find a new home. Sean brown flew from new jersey this week and says he wishes the timing could have been better. Im really disappointed to find that she has such a short time, that even if they are closing middle of winter. Obviously its a really difficult time for the elderly to be moving around and making arrangements that time of the year. Administrators say they will help residents find another place. Theyll host an open house where seniors and family members can meet with representatives of other assisted living facilities. This morning, many businesses are cheering a Court Decision about overtime rules. Many workers may not be. Overtime pay for some salaried workers who make more than about 24thousand dollars a year. Some are critical of that saying businesses can pay lowlevel managers as little as 25 thousand even if they work 50 or 60 hours a week. The Obama Administration wants to lift that threshold to more than 47thousand dollars. A judge has blocked that. Smith got his pilots license in his 20s. The original hangs on the wall at the red oak airport. Thats when i first started flying in omaha. He flew for decades. But in his 80s smiths wife urged him to years ago now and one of the boys out here said ernie. Youve got to get something to keep you living. An old flame was reignited. This is his first love, i always say this is dads first love. In his early 90s, smith reapplied for his pilots license. Orville and Wilbur Wrights on it see. A lot of people ask me if i knew them. No, i didnt know them. Every two years smith has to see the doctor and pass a medical exam to fly. He said well see you in two years, i said well i dontin not . One month shy of his 99th birthday. Amazingly. Smith still flies. We went to the guinness book of world records, looked up the current holder, and found out ernie was older. His great grand daughter abby thinks his new record is pretty sweet. I can actually prove that its real hes the oldest one. For smith the record is great. But still being able to do what he loves is priceless. Most of the time, i make beautiful landings, but not always. Smith tells me he knows his but for now. Hes just enjoying the ride. Now youve ridden with the oldest pilot in the world. I know thats awesome. To be considered the worlds oldest pilot he had to submit his flying.
