This morning a group of Waterloo Police officers is heading to of an officer killed in the line of duty. Sergeant tony beminio of des moines and officer Justin Martin of urbandale were murdered last week. Other Police Departments are showing their support by wearing bands on their badges. After Something Like theres not a better way to show your his coworkers after an incodent like this sergeant beminios funeral is being held later today officer mar blue lights are shining in central iowa neighborhoods to show support for police. Organizers with project blue light were in des moines, passing out blue light bulbs for people to shine on their porches. The creator of the group is a former Police Officer from mason city. He says he wanted to show Police Community members care. I mean now is when people minutes and weve been handing out bulbs since 10 30 if i had to estimate, id say weve handed out at least 200 than 3thousand lightbulbs yesterday. A building used as storage for the Cedar Falls Police department is destroyed in a fire. As kwwls Taylor Bailey tells us there were concerns the fire would spread. When you see that much smoke that close to home, youre gonna check it out authorities confirm a City Building used for storage caught fire before eleven o clock sunday morning. Witnesses say they believe its used to keep confiscated smokeoh it was just, it had the sun completely blocked out standup people in the area tell me they air, they say they were nervous that viking pump may have caught fire or even the apartment buidlings down here in cedar falls. My first thought was that is was viking pump right ajacent to these buildings and my dad worked at viking pump for many years, fortunatley it wasnt viking pump people who saw the smoke were concerned for friends who live in downtown apartments and immediately responded to see if any other buildings were affected. Fortunately for firefighters the fire started in the Storage Building it could have caused some other problems downtown, over my years ive seen many bad fires downtown, we dont need another one that was Taylor Bailey reporting. Police say lost bicycles were stored in the shed along with a trailer full of Police Equipment and some larger pieces of evidence in cases like cars. Two young boys are killed after being shot. Police say the father took off in his mothers car with the kids. The mother called police and an amber alert was issued. When officers found them they heard gunshots. Police say the father shot and killed his two sons. The man also died but its unclear if he shot himself or if police a 10yearold is shot after leaving a convenience store. It happened in texas over the weekend. Police say it started when a car pulled up to the gi someone in the car started a fight and shortly after police say multiple shots were fired. One bullet hit the girl. Its heartbreaking. They shouldnt get away with iths. Shooting a kid, nah. She was rushed to a hospital where she underwent surgery. No word on her condition. The body of a missing girl has been found. Police say a girl from texas was found this weekend in a well. They believe the girls uncle is responsible but no charges exactly a gas pipeline is running again in alabama after a deadly explosion. The pipeline moves gasoline from the gulf coast to new york city. It was knocked offline last week when investigators say excavation equipment hit the pipeline killing one person and injuring four others. It could take several days for it to get back to normal. Protests against the Dakota Access pipeline continued this weekend. People in north dakota gathered at a cemetery to protest. Police say there were two groups at putting a pipeline through cemeteries they say its their ancestors burial ground. The other group in support of the project. The rally shut down roads but no one was arrested. Here in iowa landowners are concerned about the pipeline. They say crews have left behind debris and disrespected their land.
