Enrique marquez, the longtime neighbor and friend of one of the shooters appeared in federal court late thursday and is now facing a list of serious chargege and were learning g re this morning about what police say was a dark history with syed farook. Nbc National Correspondent miguel almagueis following the miguel, good morning. Eporter savannah, g gd morninin if convicted Enrique Marquez faces up to 35 years in prison. According to Court Documents he met syed farook, the gunman, back in 2004, converted to islam and a short time later was radicalized, well before the deadly attack. Enrique marquez faced a federal judge, charged with three criminal counts. While prosecutors say theres no evidence he participated in the attack that left 14 dead this month, they say marquez conspired to plan two other terror plots with gunman syed farook, his longtime friend. In late 2011 the affidavit says marquez and farook wanted to attack the Riverside Community College Library where they attended school. Duo also discussed throwing pipe bombs from a second floor area above a cafeteria and then shooting people as they fled. The pair also didiussed a plot california freeway. Marquez told investigators they chose the spotith no exits, the plan for farook to throw pipe bombs on to the freeway, walking and shooting into cars. Marquez would fire from a hillside shooting police and first responders. What kind of guy was enrique . Hes what youve seen on tv. Hes a dorky kid. Reporter criminal complaint also charges marquez with entering a sham marriage. He was paid 200 a month to marry farooks distant relative. Investigators say marquez bought and lied about the assault rifles for their aborted plots, the same o os used in the San Bernardino masascre. He also purchased explosive material found at the shooting scene. Enrique marquez has blood on his hands. He was involved in a terrorist conspiracy. Reporter after the attack marquez himself called 911. He said that expletive used my gun in the shooting. Operator, you said he used your marquez, yes, oh, my god. He threatened to kill himself and the next day he went to the e. R. After drinking nine bottles of beer. In the criminal complaint, according to investigators on his facebook page. Marquez wrote, quote, my life turned ridiculous, iolved in terror plots, drugs. Could go to prison. This is really a treasure trove of information for investigators. Yeah. You know, the two main conspirators here are dead and the investigators talking to marquez, its a key insight in how this really started, talking about how they became radicalized. Who the they were following and according to the affidavit marquez and farook had been planning terror attacks as far back as 2011, four years ago, and again in 2012, well before San Bernardino. As you look back on this case are there points along the way where law enfofoement might have stepped in and intercepted these guys . I dont know that we see any red flags to shine a spot light on say, we should have looked here and it kind of shows the progression he was originally introduced to islam back in 2005 when he was 14 years old and then the radicalization, how he was providededith the jihadist rhetorich and this is really indicative of the challengesesf identifying people who are becoming radicalized. According to investigators, he is talking, talking to them for 11 days. Is that going to help his case . Ultimately will that save him from jail time but maybe a dont know about saving him from jail time. 14 dead americans,s, long ranging plot. Hes likely going to jail. Bernie Sanders Campaign is in trouble for accessing Hillary Clintons private campaign data. Nbcs Kristen Welker is in washington forlus. Kristen, whamore can you tell us . According to the democratic nanaonal convention, this breach happened on wednesday when a computer glitch allowed people in jose luis dos Santos Campaign to access a democratic donors database for a brief period. Still, the allegations are serious and could hurt sanders who is already struggling to catch up with Hillary Clinton. The blow to Bernie Sanders president ial Campaign Comes on the eve of the next democratic debate a a just a few weeks before the iowa caucuses, the immediately suspending access after accusing it of improperly accessing confidential data from Hillary Clintons campaign on wednesday. The Sanders Campaign acknowledged the Security Breach to nbc news and the dnc official said it lasted for about half a hour on wednesday and believes athis point four peoplpl accessed the information. The Sanders Campaign blaming the Software Vendor for a glitch that temporarily allowed access to the information, telling news the dnc is relying on an incompetent vendor who on more than one occasion has dropped the firewall between the various Democratic Candidates data. According to Washington Post the vendor called the episode an isololed incident adding b b lunchtime it was resolved and the staffer involved has been fired. While the dnc says four people may have accessed the data, at this point the Sanders Campaign responsible telling me that the behavior is, quote, unacceptable, and that staffer was immediately fired. Was born and raised in connecticut and started driving a bus when she was 71 years old. In 1970 i had four Young Children of my own, and it was because i was allowed to take the children with me. It was a job that i could do. Reporter the boy she gets from the kids she drives comes from her own personal loss. In 1979 her 17yearold son died in a car accident, her husband passed away from brain cancer 17 years later. You dont learn anything if your life is easy and you have no problems, but you do learn from tragedy and hardship, if you choose to. And if you want you can kind of do it with your hands but coat the bacon on every single side because what it does it creates an amazing flavor thats spicy and salty and hot and savory. This is like a sexy dish, willie. Really is. Im going to get off the excess and put it on to a bacon sheet and continue the rest and bake it at 350 for 30 minutes or until everything carmelizes. Take a bite that have. So good. Is this invention, your bacon crack . Candy bacon has been around a while and added the puff pastry which anchors it that al us to say. Crumble up the candy bacon the heat hon that bacon, the little cayenne. Has a nice little kick. I love that youre ready to really chow down over there, carson. Puff pastry is buttery and puffs up and what it does it kind of sucks all this bacon in, but then because im crazy were adding brown sugar so when we bake this again for 30 minutes.
