Fox5 news local more breaking news now in the northwest valley where two people are dead in a shooting outside an apartment. Fox5s Miguel Martinez valle is live on torrey pines near smoke ranch where hes been asking police about the investigation. Miguel. Police got multiple calls reporting shots fired from this apartment complex on torrey pines. This happened around 6 o clock and when police got to the scene they found two men near a car. They were transported to umc with gun shot wounds but were declared dead when they arrived. Police tell me they dont know exactly how many times each man was shot. They do say the men who shot them. Still on the loose. Theyre looking for the suspects. They say definitely more than one but theyre not sure makes those who live in the community uneasy sky coles, neighbor it makes me nervous because i live in this area and its like if theyre not found in the over in this area then whats liable to happen theyre out still police dont think anyone else was injured. They dont know the relationship between the victims and suspects, they say theyre also not sure wether this is gang or drug related. Police are still trying to figure out what caused a man to shoot and kill his wife before turning the gun on himself. It happened last night in an anthem neighborhood. Police were called for a welfare check. When they arrived they found the bodies of a man and woman. Police say the woman was in the the home to get some things. A 14year old and nine year old live in the home but were not home at the time of the shooting. They used to just drive by and wave and that was it. Didnt know them by name and didnt know them by their nature. I didnt think it was going to be anything so sad. I didnt really know what to think at the time. Police have not yet released the name of the husband or wife involved. Neighbors say the police had been call t home last month. One of their vehicles was unlocked, nothing was taken, but their was some rummaging. Up and down the block jennifer pointed out different homes hit. Incidents have occured in the past couple months. Itt Technical Institute campuses across the country suddenly close their doors, now students enrolled in classes including more than 400 here in Southern Nevada are wondering whats next. Fox5s eric hilt spoke to several studdents affected by the closure. For three and a half years, john collins jr. Was an honor student at itt Technical Institute. He had taken out 50thousand dollars in student planning to graduate in just a few months. I needed to find out how much potential i had and i wanted to go further. But this morning he woke up to this email. Itt tech was shutting down immediately. John wouldnt be getting a diploma. Shocked. Very shocked. Three and a half years of studying and putting my all into my all into my education to try to better and to find out through an email that my school is closed. John came by the campus to try and get more information, but today the doors are locked no representatives to talk to, no way of getting any kind of information from the school, you know i have no idea what to do next. Just trying to figure it out in the email to students, itt tech said it was forced to close because of sanctions put on the school by the department of education. It wouldnt let the school accept students who use federal aid, and forced it to pay an additional 150 Million Dollars as insurance in case the school closed. That punishment came after accreditors said the forprofit compliance with educational standards. All too many times people were going through the programs in it for example, and they were getting a degree but they were not getting the certifications that employers demand john says like many of his classmates, hes frustrated and confused. But the closure isnt going stop him from trying to reach his goals. Im very angry about it. Last week heinrich brought authorities to an isolated area where hed buried jacobs body. Last october, heinrich was named a person of interest in the case.
