You know Tucson center Tucson itself has just become a wasteland I mean they they are so far left and so embedded and. Social issues social justice and not what makes a city tech What makes what creates jobs so what do you guys tell yourselves when you're running these candidates in a citywide election that you know there's a 98 percent chance that you're not going to win and it's stacked against you give me give me that the dynamics and principles why it's even worth running well any one of these races that that's a very good question Chris and it's a question that actually you've asked me before I know and I know you're asking again because we just got our butts kicked again. And the answer really is that these candidates that we had this time all stepped up on their own. It's not like the party went out and recruited these candidates. Mike Hicks. Ewart Williams and Sam They all stepped up they all said I want to run. For my own reasons my own principles my own desire to have an effect on the future of Tucson I want to run so at that point you know the party has a choice you know sit down with these guys and say don't do it. Or support them and and they were all passionate and Mike especially you know you know with his background on the board and his prominence in the community you know he really wanted to do this and so did Sam this sort of Ewart and and so you know as a party we got behind them I can I can understand that and that's exactly honestly what happened we got behind them you know we went out and raise money we paid for the those beautiful blue signs that you saw all over the city we bought their palm cards that they used for their door knocking. And we gave it our darndest and we got our butts kicked again that's a lead and you may have had this question next already but that's a lead in to for me to talk about my kicks when in this war again ward for you know this this whole thing is as I've said this before. And I've gotten criticized for it but I'm going to say it again this is Jim Crow This is Tucson's version of Jim Crow where you take a minority and you stack the deck against them so they can so it's next to impossible to get a city council seat you know Mike Hicks wins as ward and he won it pretty handily Nikki Haley didn't do well and ward for yet she takes the word for seat because of city wide elections in Tucson you just trigger every lefty in the world in the community when you say Jim Crow Laws Well you know that I did that on purpose I want to do that I want to really. I think I definitely I understand the position here and you have someone who's a Republican who says they want to run for a seat and you don't want to abandon them because right you know but at the same time so Mike Hicks definitely has the experience and he had a name I'd be and he's been involved for years yeah what's going on out there but the other 2 guys are total rookies correct and it's kind of like like I told Sam naggy when he came in when he said he wanted to run for mayor it's like why don't you go work on a campaign for a year go do something I understand you know we're kind of you know it you know beggars can't be choosers sometimes on candidates but it's like how about going to work you know there's some really important races coming up next year right Borda soups these type of things Hey Sam What if you go go out go go work on somebody's campaign and see how that works 1st is that something that's a conversation to have with these folks instead of just because again I had Sam on once and I won't have him on again because he's so.
