We are starting with some breaking news. Fire officials in oregon say multiple firefighters were injured in a blast in a northwest portland neighborhood. This happened as utility workers were repairing a damaged gas line. Heavy black smoke all over the area this morning. You can see this is a live look of what it looks like out there right now. This is a multistory building and er we will continue to follow this and as we get updates, we will update you during the show. Back at home we have new video coming into the newsroom of the School Bus Crash at dia last month. Up until this point, we havent seen any moments of the crash or the moments leading up to it but we really want to warn you it may be difficult to watch. We have decided to show it to you as we work to learn more about what led up to the fatal that day and its very slow. Youre going to see the school bus, around the corner. 15 students were taken to metro area hospitals after the crash. Three legacy coaches significant injuries and the driver was killed in the crash. We know the junior team and varsity team for coming home from a Football Game in california when this crash happened. Denver police tell us they are still looking into what may have caused this crash to happen. Reports show there were no drugs or alcohol found in happened and it was ruled an accident. Also today, the junkins fire burning near westcliff has burned more than 16,000 acres and there is still no containment. The fire is still growing. Five homes have been destroyed and almost 300 homes are threatened at this time. About 400 people have been evacuated since the fire started on monday. Right now, there is zero containment. Firefighters say the flames power lines. Ski season in the high country just two days away. Arapahoe basin will open on friday bright and early. 9 am skiers and snowboarders will be able to access the high noon via the Black Mountain express lift and people are probably already lined up out there. It ok thunderstorms that have started to kick off. For us, i see us as being dry locally. However, there will be a few light showers moving into the areas of the front rage and northeast. Theyre not happy about what into this. Any new information from last half hour . We have reached out to every teacher that was let go and we have reached out to all the School Board Members that left last week. We will get to that in a second. Parrots stood outside parents stood outside the Rocky MountainCharter High School days after they hired those six educators. Bring our teachers back. Ring our teachers back. This comes after all but one of the Charter SchoolBoard Members quit. Seven Board Members resigned out once. We are reaching out to those Board Members but we have not heard back from them yet. Today, the focus is on the middle School Teachers who parents say were escorted out by sheriffs deputies yesterday. Parents we spoke to say the schools director didnt appreciate the opinions of some of the teachers. Who knows what the education is going to be today and that lack of planning is a real example of the pattern and the thing that goes on in the school where seemingly rash around lastminute decisions impact the students often take place. Its not the first time, its actually the second time that teachers have been reprimanded for their open opinion. Even in the instance when a board has requested their opinion to be shared. In that instance, teachers were reprimanded. You have to imagine this is a big distraction at the school today. The School Director has been in hot water before. The Jeffco School district provides public funding to the Charter School. During last years recall election, harold urged them to vote in the election because it could affect funding. The District Attorney districts attorney sent out a letter warning that that was a violation of district policy. We have reached out to her and doctor harold several times. We are still waiting to hear anything from that Charter School and its director. What they have to say, their we want that perspective. It happened after a cyclist was hit by a car near wadsworth and west 52nd. This was a fatal accident. We do not know the name of the person who died in the accident but we know it was a 43year old man and he sadly died at the hospital. Un are looking for two suspects in an attempted Armed Robbery near the tu campus last night du campus last night. A man approached a group of women, attempting to rob them. At some point, one of the suspects fired what looks like a gun toward the ground near the womens feet. Denver police are describing the suspects as two black males about 58 in height. They were unsuccessful but if you have any information Call Denver Police right away. We are just hours away from the last president ial debate.
