They have been battling a fast moving wildfire in Pueblo County. The fire has burned more than 3,000 acres and forced a lot of people to evacuate. Tarhonda thomas following the latest information from the information center. The sheriff says that the fire is still out of control. That he gave a strong valley to the people in the valley. Leave now. The sheriff is worried people could die if they stay in their homes. Look at the evacuation map. Everything in red is the evacuation area. The orange is the pre evacuation area. It has actually gotten bigger. More on this side in the pre evacuation area in the past few hours. The Pueblo County sheriff says that the fire is now on both sides of the valley. He is worried that people could homes. Already 7 structures have burned. Thats just since 1 00 yesterday afternoon. Now, when the fire started at last check, there was 0 containment on this 3,000 acre fire. The fire is moving in two directions, northwest and southeast. According to our sister station in colorado springs, federal, state and county Fire Agencies have all working on this fire. Schools are closed today as the updated vac vagues map. You can see the area got bigger and the red is the evacuation area. This is the area where some people spent the night last night. The cots set up for people to i come and stay. Other people stayed at a shelter on the state fairgrounds in pueblo. They are hoping that firefighters get a handle on the flames soon. Tarhonda, thank you for the update. Haiti is starting to feel the fury of hurricane math i the category 4 storm hit the southern part this morning. The outer bands have already caused street flooding and forced evacuation. Several soldiers from fort carson stationed in Guantanamo Bay are in the path of the storm. They are part of the military planning for the worst. They were only prepared to only handle a category 2 storm. Once the storm hits, theyre probably going to lose power and they will probably lose all connection. Pretty darn nervous. Hoping for the best for him. Another group of coloradans are in matthews path as well in haiti where a group from Summit Church in centennial are on a service trip there. A doctor, nurse, state trooper testified that she did not seem impaired after the crash when they responded and treated her. This case was supposed to go to trial at the end of the month. That was put on hold when her attorney asked to learn more about the crash investigation and then here we are at this plea deal that she took last wednesday. The sentencing is expected to happen here around 3 30 today. Fine, 12 months of unsupervised probation, and community service. Again, 3 30 this afternoon. A School Bus Driver accused of taking prescription pills before crashing the bus with students in it will find out today if she will avoid jail time. Last wednesday, she took a plea deal and that included pleading guilty to one count of careless driving. That sentencing is here at the Boulder CountyJustice Center later today. A fire in southern colorado is burning out of control. Its called the beulah hill fire. It has forced the evacuation of an entire community. Tarhonda thomas has been it spread really quickly. It did. It burned 3,000 acres in nine hours. You will see all of these images. Charred land. Look at this, gary. All of that completely black. In some cases, this charred land is where buildings once stood. It has burned seven structures and the Pueblo County sheriff warns it could be deadly if people do not leave their the Beulah Valley to evacuate the area saying that the fire is burning on both sides of the valley. The fire is just southwest of pueblo. About 1,000 people live in the valley. No injuries have been reported in the fire. The cause of it is still unknown. The red cross has opened up a shelter at an area middle school. A lot of the people have large animals. They are being sheltered at the fairgrounds. The fire is not burning in pueblo but ash is falling from the sky advisory because of poor air quality in pueblo. Belen de leon is here right now. This is from yesterday afternoon. Firefighters were planning last night to keep fighting the fire and take advantage of the cooler temperatures, higher humidity. Will they have those conditions today. There is improvement on the forecast today. There will not be a red flag warning in effect. The winds in the area could be gusting up to 22 Miles Per Hour which is still breezy but nothing like yesterday.
