So today the trial for the woman accused of a gruesome crime in longmont is going to start in boulder county. Dana lane cut the fetus out of another womans womb. We expect the woman who was attacked to testify in this trial. Reporter yes, and it could be some very dramatic moments when we do see Mitchell Wilkins take the stand to talk about what happened to her. The details are still hard to hear almost a year after this happened. Now lane, the woman on trial, her mug shot is one we have seen time and time again in the she has been held in jail on a 2 million bond and her trial begins today. She is accused of cutting an unborn baby girl from the womb of michelle wilkins. Wilkins was 7 months pregnant at the time and answered a craigslist ad for baby clothes. Lane is charged with unlawful termination of a pregnancy and attempted with attempted murder and shes not charged with the babys death because they couldnt prove the baby took any breaths outside of the womb. She faces 100 years in prison. Michelle wilkins will talk about what happened to her. She is expected to be one of the first witnesses from the prosecution as this trial begins today, we could hear from First Responders and many other people connected to this case, which is expected to last for two weeks. But this is certainly a case that so many people across the state, really across the country have been keeping their eye on. Wilkins made an appearance on the dr. Phils show. Her talk about this. The results of it. There is not any protective netting on the hillside in this one spot and cdot says that is going to change. First, cdot will have to clean up a big mess. This was the result of the second of two rock slides in glenn wood canyon on monday. Of small cars. The slide damaged a car and semitruck. The car was able to drive through, but the truck was stuck, pinned by a huge boulder. Thankfully, the driver was not hurt. Cdot was forced to close the interstate. Some drivers were stuck in that closure overnight. Crews started to clear away some of the rocks yesterday while geologists checked the hillside on foot and from the hair in a helicopter. Right now, the way to get around the closure will take you about five hours. So drivers are sent about 200 miles out of their way up north to glenn wood springs, over to craig, down to rifle, and then back on to i70. This is what drivers are going to have to deal with until at least tomorrow afternoon, guys. Wow. That is an enormous rocks, thank you.
