Also ahead live from rio taking a live look over denver, not as hot as it has been, but decent outside. No. Things will cool off a little bit. Hey, guys, it is not bad. Weve had about nine days, eight days in the 90s so far in august. Just by looking at our extended forecast it looks like it could be a e 90degree temps. Well be a bit cooler and cover your ears. Im going to say the s word, snow. Why . Because those people that are complaining about the hot weather, folks, just for kicks the average date of the first snowfall in denver is october 19th. So thats about two months away. Anyway i just thought that was interesting and the earliest date its ever happened has been september 3rd , but were not looking at snow in our seeing more warmth and temperatures remaining in the 80s. As we head into the weekend, our chances for rain will be increasing and our temperatures will be dropping. Well see temperatures that we havent seen since may. Oh, have i piqued your interest . Youll have to wait around till that full forecast to see how cool it will get. Right now were at 83 degrees at dia, out here in the backyard our temperatures are 86 degrees. So the warmest weve got today has been 88 out at dia of currently across the state dia. Currently across the state were still in the 90s out east where that cloud cover hasnt quite arrived out there and their forecast on the plains is looking a whole lot drier than for us on the front range and in the foothills and mountains, temperatures in the mountains, 58 in leadville, 82 in eagle and the western slope is at 90 degrees. Heres whats happening in our big picture. We have High Pressure in control over the western half of the u. S. That is really suppressing our chances for showers, significant rain now currently heres what we have. Still that stationary front thats positioned from parts in the midwest all the way into the gulf coast. We continue to see flood watches, aerial flood advisories in parts of texas and also in louisiana because of that heavy rain. Those rivers in louisiana are running high and fast. Meanwhile back in colorado were getting a bit of stormy weather, lightning count about 261 in the past half hour. Most of the activity has been in the mountains and south of elevations above about 14,000 feet towards the san juans were seeing a little rain and snow. How about that . To the south of denver near parts of El Paso County is where we have currently severe thunderstorm warnings in effect until 5 00, heavy rain currently falling out there, lots of lightning and even some hail currently still an aerial flood advisory for parts of Elbert County where the amount of hail that weve seen has been severe in nature. Storms that want to push off the foothills and make their way on i25. The best chance for us to see isolated storms are around 6 00 and 7 00. Then after that our skies will gradually clear in the overnight hours. Heres a look at that futurecast throughout the rest of today into tomorrow morning. Maybe some isolated storms. There is a chance if you led out to coors field to bark head out to coors field to bark at the park, the best chance to see rain is in the early innings and the weather will clear city and through tomorrow morning were waking up to sunshine and really its going to be a rinse and repeat for your hump day. Tonight the temperatures drop to 58 degrees, early showers possibly in the city. Your lows will drop to the 50s in some spots. 60s and in some parts in the high country weve been dropping to the 30s already. Tomorrow the high will be at 88 degrees, partly cloudy and then once again a chance for some late day afternoon storms. We will see air quality issues. Air quality will be unhealthy for sensitive groups and visibility will be on the poor side. Now i did some digging and research because it really has been a very dry month for us out at dia. Weve got maybe about. 03 of an inch of rainfall. Currently that puts us in second place for the top five dryest augusts in denver. Hopefully as we approach the weekend, that will change with our rain chances increasing, on saturday the high 74 degrees and on sunday our high. So well be flirting with fall with a better chance for rain. Before we arrive for the weekend weve got a few days to go and your temperatures will be in the 80s. Thursday and friday well have a front that knocks temperatures to the low 80s and saturday and sunday is the next front that drops our temperatures. In rio tomorrow will be toasty, the high 91, 70s for thursday and then friday and saturday the chance of rain increases. In rio dejaneiro. Thanks a lot.
