Peter it's basketball How do you kind of mail battle together all of a sudden well you know it's it's tough it's tough because you know we're right the heart of kind of basketball she's so we've got to talk in the 2 weeks and so not just a whole lot of practice days so we're trying to make the most of every every day every minute we've got a practice and and I do they've got a they've got to find some time to come in early and study the playbook of it let you get shots up dribble the ball and just kind of get back and rid of I mean with with like of it in the super I mean it's great because your football think that that mix but I just need to come in with the mindset of we've got to get ourself in basketball shape and we're trying to do that we're trying to get everybody on the same page with with philosophy and the guys that have been in the gym or helping the football guys and helping teach the football god some of the stuff we've learned to follow it so it's a total team effort but we're excited to get started let's word of things are you doing. Well you know when you've got different personnel when you graduated we graduated 6 of our top and so there's just a lot of a lot of teaching moments there's a lot of you know this groups going to be different than last year's group so we're trying to figure out what we do well and really just start hammering that held and fight it out every day that we do good stuff that we do that and we're trying to just try to take some of those problems what are some of the things we're trying to iron out. Well I think at this at this stage when it's a really you're trying to trying to fight rhythm you're trying to get you know where they get caught for the look where he said there's going to be a plea talking communicated to the basketball that and all of the little thinks that going to be successful and on the 8th and thought it off at the side of the ball that's the stuff. You know we don't have all of that is that it just takes a little while it takes a little while for them to each other or to have a place that's gone for Fox let's with each other so it's just it's all about get back in rhythm the more time that we practice the courthouse that we play the better we're going to get We're excited to to have that opportunity to play I guess 5 games out next 2 weeks so it'll be it'll be good for to be a good 2 week to week no matter what happens just every chance we get we have an opportunity to get better we're speaking with Lloyd where the the ridge touches will be back after this if there's one thing you've been no more getting year after year in your home or business it's your heating in their system when you need to have it serviced in a jar is from a company you can trust Guthrie heating air and the Ridge has been family owned since 968 Guthrie heating air specializes in commercial refrigeration heating in a or says domes as well as residential heating and air for great service or sales on all major brands be sure to call Gov 380 air at 479-451-8236 Gunther a hating in air proudly sponsored pay read by a colleague basketball coaches corner on car b. Residents will have the chance to learn about options for an access road to the northwest Arkansas Regional Airport during a public drop in meeting Thursday night meetings hosted by the Arkansas Department of Transportation which is working with the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission on an access road planning to missions transportation program manager Tim Coglan told her news that the infrastructure needs to grow with the region north a target so we have made a lot of progress. Improving our major roadway network started back in 2012 with the connecting Arkansas program water approved that actually funded what you can drive on today with his highly 612 for the future for 12 bypass. Today you get from I $49.00 out towards Highway $112.00. The next piece are gaps in the system to improve the roadway system is to find a route to x. And a purpose of this project is to work together as a region to see how to improve that roadway and make those connections to your major roadway system residents will have a chance to view 3 alternatives for the road Arkansas Department of Transportation . As working with their consultant coverage in ears has. Put together several alternatives to look at how to get to and from. Basically where Highway 612. Currently ends their. Highway 112. And so there's an alternative to looking at the future $612.00 to the east that we go towards tiny town coming off of that location there's another alternative that's looking. There we're waiting and we'll wrote the. Ties into $112.00 and going west from there and then looking at the existing $64.00 routes there's 3 alternative that. Have been proposed as part of this project so once again one options a new location another options a partial new location and then the 3rd option is just improving the existing roadway. That's what the public will be asked to look at. This Thursday to look at how to improve access to the northwest Arkansas regional airport if you can't make it to the meeting Thursday night talk one says there are other options to make your views known or to seek more information they certainly can contact the northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission. Here in Springdale where the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the region also can contact. A little rock and they also have information or they could also contact the actual airport x. In a. The 3 entities are all working towards improving this roadway or trying to get the runway approved out of regional airport so once again it is through us that the Regional Plan Commission or or through ex and I. The timeline for the environmental study will be complete next year beyond that it will be up to the voters they have talked about hopefully hopefully. Completing the environmental process. Towards the summer of 2020 and then obviously a major project like this would need funding and. It all depend on like most major highway projects. Whether or not we have the funds to complete it so. The voters of Arkansas will have another chance to. Go to the polls in 2020 to look at the connecting Arkansas program. Continuing the current half cent sales tax and the results of that will determine exactly what we can do not just for the airport access road but for all major transportation projects in northwest Arkansas in the state of Arkansas. The come and go meeting will be from 4 to 7 Thursday evening at Trinity Grace Church on South Bellevue road in Rogers. On Ari Bowden a special meeting Monday a split Bella Vista City Council decided not to buy that part of the Center 10 city water system that's in Bella Vista the city doesn't have a water utility most of the city is served by the Bella Vista property owners association water utility under the proposed deal that was rejected Monday the city would have bought the water spur that runs from Center 10 city water system through part of the city of gravity and into the western side of Bella Vista that isn't served by the p.o. 8 last month with council member John Flynn absent the council voted 3 to 2 to buy the water line Flynn Haddix previously expressed opposition to the purchase with Flynn present the Council split 3 to 3 that through the decision of Mayor Peter Christie Christie has also opposed the purchase and he cast the deciding vote against buying the line last week one council member short and that. Phone 3 to favor changeling 1st mark the problem with that is in order for us to execute any kind of contract agreement ceramic thing else we need a majority which has to be for council at 6 members. I get a phone which in the event of a tie and one council member away last time. We were short additional to try and get 4 so we had a special meeting and put it in front of the can. Similar to the last the most of the councillors don't care physician. Not nearly as long as the last time and then we put into a fox. It was a tie of 3 in favor of no longer pursuing and 3 in favor of continuing to pursue the purchase so it came to me and I voted in favor no longer. Pursuing the purchase and you know the reasons why I chose that have never changed. One of seemed like a good idea years ago to pursue it there are legal complications that we were not aware of until we actually hired water attorneys. Or gosh well over a year ago to help us with this and they pointed out a couple of legal issues and that's a council should really reconsider their their position on purchasing the 2 biggest issues are no water system by law all is allowed to run at a deficit in other words it has to make money or break even and in order to do that the $80.00 some odd customers that are on the line would have seen extraordinary increases in their water bills and frankly I didn't feel that the bill is fair because we have no idea if and when any kind of expansion along Highway 279 will ever occur in other words we know we don't know when the return on investment will occur the 2nd one once and this is probably more telling. It's a little complex but if there is water being provided by one city to another city and it has to go through a 3rd city to get there so in other words standard tune would be supplying water to us but it has to go to grab it to get to us. If gravity is able to bring any source of water into the area then we are bound by law to sell a sellout portion of the line to gravity which includes the connection center of. Saturn and most of the area that may or may not be developed for retail. Some years down the road so it just didn't make good business sense to me to take taxpayer dollars and purchase something when you possibly just a couple of years according to merit Mattocks over and grab a given have water up there and we will by law be forced to turn around themselves you know it just didn't add up so. I think we have better opportunities as a standard of the other meaning to pursue We contacted goold Evans who has been helping us with our comprehensive land use plan out to the year 2040 and they still insist that the major growth area for the city will be along highway 71 and I can't agree because there is an immediate payback if you are able to get water into some of the areas that are already built up but are on wells down there. So that to me makes more sense economically in a better use of taxpayer dollars after the special meeting the Council held a work session on the 2020 budget and that was to take them once again the truth of the budget we keep tweaking it because as the as the weeks and months go by and towards the end of the year you're able to resign your numbers especially what you think your your reserve carry over will be into the new year. And we also of course had to. Understand what's going to happen with this water purchase are we going to have to spend $400.00 plus $1000.00 or can we put that back reserve for now we know we can do some real went through. A good session on Monday after the special council meeting to discuss the purchase and. There are still some are very minor tweaking that we need to do and at the regular work session on Monday December the 9th they will see if they can have an opportunity to last further questions and then a week later we will ask them to approve it because the Christmas holiday the city council moved up the regular meeting one week to December 16th 4 years living in Sun trucking is probably even serving the tolling and hauling needs of Northwest Arkansas we pride ourselves on a strong work ethic and always will our clients 1st we are top quality service at competitive rates our experience easily qualifies us to meet your towing hauling construction and demolition needs with care and the best customer service call is good 479-824-4147 extension 1 thing in sun around sponsors of the Prairie Grove a steam.
