Happy Thanksgiving no sales tomorrow at Green Forest All right we're underway here today on the old party line and I'm sure that people out there some of our folks are. Either in the midst of leaving for the for the holidays to spend some time with family and friends or you are about to be in that situation. You know we were talking yesterday in fact one of our listeners challenge the Colonel in in what he said about the president's involvement in the shall we say that the navy seal where the Navy had reduced his rank one slot. And one step and the president restored the rank and and then there it ended up with the Navy secretary being fired by the defense secretary and I was opining yesterday about how as a military guy you know you really hate to see this involvement by a high ranking official down into the chain of command because it portends things that are not good that's what I said yesterday had again I called in and he challenged me on what basis do you say that etc etc etc And I I gave the answer well I got a little bit more information on this subject here in talking with our congressmen last night and he was telling me that. Unfortunately there were quite a few Republican congressman who were involved on this thing because they had sent a letter to the president urging him to intervene so don't blame the president entirely for this thing the responsibility also lies in part with some of the Republican congressman I'm not going to mention any names because I can't remember but he did mention one or 2 guys that I think one guy was from Texas that was kind of spearheading this thing and yes Or they came to our congressman Steve Womack and asked him to sign on to this letter and he told him that he would not do that he said I'm a chain of command guy so that's that's what he said and therefore he did not sign on to the situation and of course he's a friend of the. Secretary of Defense asked for and he has quite a bit of in internal knowledge on this now. These kind of situations oftentimes will work out with the chain of command in other words you've got different elements within the military to deal with problems that might be construed as being unfair and he was telling me this morning about an incident now as chairman of the Board of Visitors of West Point he he's involved in it and a lot more things than you can imagine and he was telling me this morning at the donut shop just a few minutes ago he resists a cadet that was it West Point several years ago and I'm not I'm not familiar with his name he told me the name but this kid this kid that was on a I guess you'd say a training exercise out in the field and unfortunately. He ended up. In the same sleeping bag with a female could that and. So therefore that's certainly a no no as far as conduct is concerned what made this really bad was that the female shortly thereafter filed a complaint saying that she was raped Now this guy was. Basically. He was. Dealt with in a very harsh way and the chain of command went after him big time elements of the chain of command maybe a brigade commander I don't know exactly what level but this kid was sentenced to prison he was sent to Leavenworth and he has served 21 months in Leavenworth. A 3 member Army panel however picked up this situation after this time went by and and there were some troubling facts 1st of all there was. When this incident happened the the one involved here even testified that the guy didn't put his hand over her mouth to keep her from screaming and she didn't say anything to her peers right there at the scene there was no commotion involved so from every point of view it was a consensual situation and so the army panel says you're going to release this individual from Leavenworth and not only that but you're going to send him back to West Point so he goes back to the military academy there was a lot of counseling sessions that ensued and here's Steve Womack the. The chairman of the board at West Point this is one of the things that comes up on his watch and he was talking with the superintendent the lieutenant general there who heads up West Point and and this this lieutenant general says Man I don't know what we're going to do it cetera et cetera and we've got this guy coming back in has this going to affect the morale in the unit and all of this but he showed me this morning that they are he read to me this morning a text that he had received from the official in charge at West Point talking about how this individual had integrated back into the service was doing exceedingly well academically had been accepted by the cadets everything was so impressive and and he was moving forward they gave him an opportunity to leave the service but he decided to resume his. A career as a cadet at the u.s. Military Academy at West Point and from all points of view things were. Things were moving along in an acceptable fashion. I have asked the question I said What happened to that girl and he said well she has been commissioned she was she was commissioned as an officer in the military but here's a individual and now as far as for future. Shall we say punishment the superintendent at West Point put it pretty bluntly when he told of the congressman you know I kind of think that 21 years in prison is ample punishment for such an offense but. The point I'm making is simply this that the military has a chain of command and they've got elements within that chain of command supposedly that's going to ensure fairness and preserve the discipline that we have expected from our armed forces now obviously you're going to say to me my gosh it's not very efficient because it took. 21 months of prison time before Justice was rendered in this case. But those are some little known fact what now the the congressman was all is also involved in another situation I'll just mention real briefly. The. Adjutant General of Arkansas a little bit of a problem concerning the part of the army and whether he's going to get federal recognition that setter of the congressman is working on that through the the people that he's association with the high levels of of our military and we think that everything will be smooth but there's been a little bit of a hick up on general pins situation as adjutant general of Arkansas so I guess what I'm saying to you is that you realize that our congressman has a lot of irons in the fire a lot of responsibilities and some of these responsibilities are extremely important to this this country. He doesn't go around talking about it all the time but I think our listeners deserve to know that there are lots of things that pop up. You know all right let's let's get these phones open this morning and see if you've got some conversation you wish to contribute here today. Making sure in the presidential race I don't occasionally not often but occasionally I retired in the same birthdays summer. I see going on in style and stuff and it's not really maybe an article where. The interest in them presents but. More sense. Announced his election. Used. As one young of this has been investigating Donald Trump since the day he announced for president and even still today he is still investigating. And and used his resources to support 24 other terms of just how hard the Bloomberg News around the world. For being a presidential candidate is using information from foreign countries that he's getting from these journalist to dig up dirt on Donald Trump. Which which I think is what Donald Trump did or is accused of doing anyway to Joe Biden. So now instead of the president investigating a competitor we have a competitor investigating the president so what's the difference and that goes back to my point about all this is ever going to be from now on is one president after another being called up for impeachment or saints or something but what I found that kind of odd. That this is happening right before Bloomberg is that is a little wide. Publication. And that that investigation into Donald Trump is still going on right now today even though he's a presidential candidate and he's beginning. On Duncan Ok and I thought that was amusing Ok well that one the one thing that you failed to mention however that really is important in this comparison that you draw is that Donald Trump was asking for help from a foreign government from a head of state and according to what you say Bloomberg if they've If the if the newspaper reporters around the world are contributing to Bloomberg deal hey that's a whole that's a horse of a different color and what I'm what I'm saying to you is if Bloomberg any of his reporters are asking a foreign government to dig up dirt on Donald Trump then I'm going to be just as adamant in my criticism of that as I am in the president asking for a foreign government but but you know when we compare apples we need to compare him to apples and there's one major difference in this scenario that you brought up is that according to what you say Bloomberg is is getting information as best he can but. He's not getting it from a foreign government and that's what's illegal in in our scheme of things but you know here's here's what I've said so many times before and and I try to issue this caviar I have voted for more Republicans in my life than most of my listeners out here because I'm a lot older than most of our listeners you see. However what really. Amazes me is how people can look at a set of circumstances they can look at and testimony. And and come up with so different. Conclusions is what I'm saying and I think those conclusions are really heavily influenced by how you feel about the guy in other words you may you may love Donald Trump but you ought to be able to listen to the factoids of what he has done and and basically separate that from your. From your strong support of the president or your dislike of the president the same way if you don't like Donald Trump you should be able to to put that aside and let the facts be judged on the facts don't let them be colored or shaded by how you feel about the individual and because that where as a nation unable to seemingly do that then I'm I'm saying that it's just kind of useless to even talk about. Having an objective evaluation of what's going on let me give you an example for example. This morning there's a guy in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette with a name a Russ Bailey of Little Rock and guess what Russ Bailey is really coming down hard on Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vandeman now I think most of us who watched Lieutenant Colonel Vinson and we are impressed with this guy. He's forthright he is certainly a he was patriotic he served his country got wounded in the war and so he has laid his life on the line came over to this country when his 3 years of age so his background is such and he said in a Stephanie only the other day he he addressed his dad who he's said his dad was really concerned about him getting involved in issuing these tests this testimony and he said Dad I'm going to be all right because I live in America I'm an American or it's all right to tell the truth to tell the truth however how you feel about that here's Russ Bailey who says. I too am a decorated Army officer I served in Vietnam maybe I should have put on my old uniform and contacted shift as Adam shifted told him I would like to testify before his committee because I was not in full agreement with the president's phone call now he goes on to say and get this I strongly resent venom and wearing his dress uniform at a political event such as ships committee it should be pointed out that officers who work for the National Security Council wear civilian clothes and not their uniforms I believe this was all about ships charade and here's a guy obviously a big trump supporter and there's no way that this guy is going to be objective about anything that he hears. Because he even. Criticizes Lieutenant Colonel Benton for wearing his dress uniform. I see nothing wrong with that the guy was is own duty. This is like me saying Well if you're a military guy. And you you're going to the supermarket you ought to take your your uniform off. Now if you're involved in a pure political event such as a trump rally you know I think it would be appropriate to go in civilian clothes but I don't regard the United States congressional hearing to be a to be a political event you may say well it's all about politics and and I'm sure you can you can make a good argument on that but it's not a political event it's a it's a. Element of our democracy where we've got a hearing so I see nothing wrong with that but this individual does now on the other hand here's another letter writer Lynn White of Fayetteville He says it's reported that President Trump cheated on the military draft 3 wives his contractors golf etc Why would anyone think he would not try to cheat on his reelection now when you have people who are saying those kind of things 1st of all Russ Bailey from Little Rock who is grabbing at straws and and his problem with Vin min was he warns you military uniform. And then you have the guy from from a letter from a Fayetteville White who wants to point out all of the transgressions of Donald Trump's and how he allegedly cheats. You tell me if it's possible for people with those deep seated emotional dug in thoughts if if they can be objective about anything they hear I'll be right back. Not only on Thanksgiving but every other day of the year let's get some more calls on here boy we are lit up here like Foster Brooks this morning this is the party line Good morning. Good morning Colonel I think they're on t.v. I think there's increasing discussion of why Evan Jellicoe Christians have gone over to President Trump and I think your analysis of the Evan Jellicoe Christians interest in the abortion issue is the reason I think you're right about that. And what what it seems to me though looking from a little distance. That the Evan Jellicoe olds many of them a whole bunch of them maybe even most of them have started worship thing the fertilized egg they have made a golden half of the fertilized egg. Give the more value then they give to a woman I think your analysis of the. Issue The dilemma is. Which has more value or are you going to. Are you going to tell a woman what she has to do with her body and the fertilized egg is not yet a baby it's a Potenza child but it's not a baby and I'm somewhat offended when the church people call the fertilized egg a baby it is not a baby and it just seems to me like some of the Evan Jellicoe to. Some of the leaders and others so that members have gone over to the dark side they have been tempted by how we're. They had and they had succumbed they want to pal were when some of these issues need to be. They need to be dealt with good preaching and on the abortion Thanks I would encourage people to look up the demographics of abortion because the numbers of abortion are declining Airdrie year there are fewer abortions and it Lanny not believin says the young people are having Lance say x. Well that's good and I think a person could make an argument that the Holy Spirit is that were and people are coming to their senses. In a different way not with power but just what is good and wholesome and thank you so much thank you well it's a subject that is soul emotional and there are certain types of subjects or certain subjects that there's no way that you can have a rational. Objective discussion because people are dug in they've got they are indelibly impressed in their brain how they feel about a certain deal and and I say I'm the 1st gotta tell you that abortion is an unfortunate situation particularly if if it's late in the term and some of these late term abortions are are horrendous but I've also said that. When you boil it down if you are of the opinion that you got the right too. Put a woman in prison for having. An abortion and a lot of these so-called extreme Right right. Wing people feel that way. Then the then you you will tell me that you believe that you have the authority and power to dictate to some woman out here what she does with her body you know in a sense that's a little it's a little different what we're talking about but in a sense. That same analogy would that would enable you to say if I see some a teenager out here smoking or 5 see some teenager out here drinking. I believe that that's going to be detrimental to their health to their life it'll kill them you know it'll basically a give them lung cancer or whatever so therefore I ought to have the right to say that you can't do that and we're going to discipline you we're going to take we're going to take measures to to address you if you do these kind of things. You know I think it's it's unfortunate situation when you see teenagers out here smoking and drinking and carrying on but you know there is there is an element in this country known as the freedom to do those things and right now the law is that. That a woman who doesn't want to stay pregnant can legally get an abortion that that's permissible now if the Supreme Court ultimately says one of these days that that you can't do that that that's illegal and there's penalties involved and that is exactly what a lot of the even Jellicoe olds are hoping for and the president when he ran for office he said that he he pled. To overturn Roe v Wade I'm going to put people on the Supreme Court who will overturn Roe v Wade and you've got a lot of people who are depending on that and of course with Ruth Bader Ginsburg a little bit. Under the weather here in many ways a lot of people are saying a lot more at there's going to be another conservative judge and boy one of these days the Supreme Court's going to come up with this with this decision to overturn this centuries old practice that that's now it legal in this country and then we're going to have hell to pay with a lot of people because you're going to have some. Abortions that are in the in the backyard in the shadows in and creating probably a lot of health problems in this country as well but the high I understand that it's an emotional. It's an emotional question and when I sit here on Sunday or Wednesday and hear Vincent Xavier from New Line ministries and become passionate in what he says about this it's on his mind and it's on the mind of a lot of even gelatos and I believe that that's the reason that they're willing to close their eyes and and turn their head on any shall we say non-Christian type of activity by the president because he's pledged that he's going to overturn this this. Law or that we have right now Roe v Wade I'm going to be right back you probably know about Wilson home services or Rogers the outstanding home repair service company an fact you may have seen him on the car roof or repairing storm damage but there's something else we'll send home Sarah says is sponsoring the Salvation Army angled for a program with a goal of sponsoring 100 kids Wilson Homes ours is offering can pursue. Had to do without electricity lately super storms and high wind not to mention the ice storms that will come in our upcoming winter why do without any more when you can have an all home or partial home Generac generator installed by but Anderson home services keep your family warm and safe Don't be left cold and in the dark one day install is all it takes no money down and great low monthly payments for qualified customers so-called But Anderson Homes services heating cooling electric and plumbing services 855 go call Bud or on the web at Go call Bud dot com And remember for 79 dollars you get your choice of a furnace or air conditioner tune up and safety inspection were their premier dealer Dyken air intelligence now that test subject of abortion was brought up here by the lady this morning and you know one of the reasons and I always kind of hesitate to even talk about this is because it is so emotionally ingrained in people they feel extremely strong one way or the other and like I say there are some subjects that are very difficult to discuss politics is one of those. Religion is one of those and and certainly this particular subject has is one that is really really emotional but you know we don't duck any issues on this program and we may not agree with one another but we're still going to try to be civil to one another Let's go to the local line this time this is party line Good morning good morning Carol yes or it's in Iowa on the kernel of the you know accidentally or in a little bit this thing about right if that's fertilizing you know I'm on I don't make sense I'm buying buying you know those don't know then joke of Christians that I am on. We have a God we worship we believe in him and we worship involved and there are we serve Him we do not worship men I don't worship preachers we don't worship politicians and they come out and say that we're worshipping fertilizing is probably one of the most offensive crazy things I've heard in a long time abortion if you think that that's a fertilized egg I want you need to understand you have all of the Democrats calling for full term abortion up to the day of bars it's Ok to abort that baby and he think it's Ok to pull a baby of a mother's womb and laid up there on the counter in clip it's spinal cord and say it was just a part of lies day you got a human being in there with arms and legs and feet in the beating heart and tell me that's a part alive today and you may are never ever going to agree on it period and just that just goes beyond the pale but if you're not a Christian don't tell Christians what they should and I just that's just terribly offensive and when you talk about the like Colonel you might let that the part that the man did didn't know. That military personnel working for the Department of Defense and in their homeland security whatever. It's not that depart whatever in the Pentagon their their their dress code is civilian dress code they dressed in civilian clothes and they work or show or show he was pompous and arrogant and that's my opinion and I you know Perry don't feel that way but I don't know how you can. You know you can you can really defend the man being military because he circumvented the chain of command. Or he's been brought up to task for that he thinks he's above the chain of command I guess he thinks that. He had nothing but an opinion these hearings he classified as testimony and already is a bunch of people that had opinions they're full time girl employees and their opinions as one of them were his information when I reference Oh I'm so worded and then ignorant and so on so well I got it from what's his name and then we ask what's his name who were in the world did you get this information and he said no where. He did it for me where I was. Down to the 3rd person it was absolute testimony gospel truth this hearing in these areas are not legal proceedings they are strictly class size political All right obviously not a court of law I get your I get your drift I disagree with Yes or disagree with you it's just it's just that simple and and like I say and nobody's refuted be on this it's impossible to have a conversation about this because you've got people dug in on both sides of the issue now let me let me just ask you this if if the president is clean as the driven snow why would he instruct his people who are in the know not to testify. Because if these people have information that would exonerate the president let me tell you common sense would tell you that anybody would would agree that if they've got information that would make Donald Trump look good he would be sending them Lubert driver to get him up to the to the committee hearing it's just that simple when you stonewall and when you refuse to allow your people to testify and you have and the other side has to go to court to get a judge to order these people like McGowan the attorney. It's common sense would tell you you know this is this is beyond the pale to to defend this and I'm I didn't. I did not view. The lieutenant colonel as being pompous and arrogant at all. And. So far as I know there's no regulation that when he appears before a committee in Congress that it's wrong for him to wear the uniform now that's just that's my take and I believe this that if it was if it is then the Department of the army would have something to say about this but we have this situation right now where the president has intervened and taken care of one individual Navy Seal and yet the Navy secretary has said that was that was harmful to the discipline of the United States Army so we've got people listening in that are on both sides of the issue and the reason that they're on both sides of the equation is because of how they feel about this president. There you go it's why does the courts have to rule that the gas don't have to release his income tax when he promised that he would releases income tax and then he changed his mind why does the courts have to be involved in the testimony of the chief of staff and the secretary of state and these other people who know now as far as Mr Adelman was concerned the lieutenant colonel he heard the call he was listening to the call and he was doing his job when he when he went to his. The next in in the line of command and and was told to go to the lawyer I'd fail to understand how you cannot realize that that there's arguments here that don't hold water I'll be right Manning. Got about a half hour left this morning and boy this program today has evolved into a kind of a controversial subject matter this morning so maybe somebody can kind of poor little oil on the troubled water here this morning hopefully in our remaining 30 minutes this is party line good morning a current Yes or couple things. Emotion around the topic of abortion is actually a good thing it's not emotion came up out of logic and reason and science. Like the fact that inside the mother is a human life. So if you're emotional. That about abortion but it was just because you don't want to have to live with the baby or like this woman that called the other day and said if your wife is doing what would you do well why would I blame the baby why would I kill a baby because that's what all the science it's a human baby so it's a motion and that is good because it's a baby it is a baby there's no denying it there's no science that there's anything otherwise all you have is law and men in black robes telling you that you can kill your baby got that it's like yesterday when I called in and I asked you a question about a claim you made and I got a resume from you that you had a motion because you thought I was questioning your military I was just questioning your claim but again people you have to use reason and logic courage you could have easily said oh this was example of a president again and creating to vaster situations in our military and here's one of them blah blah blah and I get the current which I did I don't care about your announcing about the claim but again it's the emotion you know you let your emotions take over and that of answering a simple question and this is the same with abortion people get emotional about it . Just make sure it's reasonable you know make sure it's a reasonable position that you take and then get motional motion is great you have a good day comes well I will try to have a good day and and once again you missed the point guy I don't understand your rationale and your kind of an unusual personality out there for doggone sure you ask me what basis I was saying that this was harmful to the chain of command in the discipline the military. For the for a president or as far as that goes for any high ranking officer to dip down into a unit situation and forced himself in on the unit. And and the reason I gave you my resume I said that I was basing what I said on 35 years of military experience and a lot of different levels in the military and I believe that gives a guy a little bit of a better insight as to what the problem is more so than somebody who has never worn the uniform a day in their life and served their country in the military which is exactly what you admitted but here you are sitting there in Gentry Arkansas. You know with the idea that hey you know more about this than somebody somebody who's been in the armed forces for 35 years that's the whole point and again I've said before that your mission in life is to try to shoot a hole in something that I say here on this on this program and I'm well aware I'm up to the challenge on all that sort of thing and when the when I said that the the . Abortion issue is an emotional topic I mean it because you've got people that like yourself and I believe what you just said is that if somebody rape your wife and she's pregnant that you're you're Ok with that you know now you didn't say that you'd be happy that you'd call in this program and celebrate that occasion I'm not saying that at all but you apparently would not take any steps to deal with that a lot of people would but what I'm saying to you sir.
