And now bart officials, they suspect the same electrical problems that plagued the season last spring is back. Last year the trains were breaking down from a mysterious electrical train. They are the newer cars. The a and b cars recently that their systems upgraded. But now all the trains today, a, b, and c were effective. Bart passengers arriving at the North Concord station friday evening found themselves having to exit one train to take another one on the opposite track. It was pretty confusing for a while. They say bart doesnt surprise them anymore. That is not the problem, but im shocked. Reporter friday afternoon bart reported to having an equipment problem running the line from North Concord to pittsburgh bay point. This is the same line that would have major power problems last year. The mysterious Electrical Outages caused frequent disruptions and services. A bart spokesperson says they simply dont know if it is the same electrical problem as there are similarities. And the power of the trains, they were getting too much voltage, so that electricity would actually not travel its normal route, but they would damage the other side of the car. Bart riders havent forgotten that headache. They were expecting to come to pittsburgh. It was suppose to go back and forth, but hopefully they get it fixed. Reporter when we told them it might be the same problem as last year, this was his reaction. Well, hopefully they can find a resolution and get to work. Reporter the Electrical Service seems to be taking the trains out of service and riders had to decide between waiting or taking the bus. Using them as test trains to see if they could make it all the way to pittsburgh without any problems. Two hours ago when we talked to bart officials, they told us they suspected we might have the same problems tomorrow morning. But since they do have the longer trains running, so far so good. Bart officials told us tonight they identified the particles under each car as a possible search for shorting. Those particles could be due to the grinding of the rails. United Airlines Announced today they changed their policy on employee travel. The change comes in the wake of this violent removal of the passenger from a flight last sunday.
