Reporter a neighbors surveillance camera caught a part of what happened. Franklin was driving her boys to school when a silver mercedes pulls up alongside her and then in front of her blocking the path. She is seen backing up her jeep. Police say franklins estrange boyfriend 43yearold lawyer mcbride of san pablo walks up to her, argues with her for a few seconds shooting her. He could be seen walking back to his car and drives off in his mercedes. Another neighbor a woman, walked the victims two sons away from the jeep. Police credits neighbors with helping them identify mcbride as a suspect. It breaks my heart because the guy, whoever did this, they are doing it around the the other children, you know. I cannot believe it. We are having a hard time dealing with this because most of us are parents like myself. We cant imagine, we just cant imagine having our children watch their mother be murdered. Reporter franklins family tells me she was in Cosmetology School and her dream was to open up a nail and hair salon. Her sister says franklin had been with the suspect for about a year, but moved from oakland back to richmond when that relationship ended. And he has been stalking her, pulling me over the other day asking where she was at. And i didnt know. If there is a wife or Family Member out there, you know him, you know where she at, turn him in because that could have been your child. Theres no restraining order against mcbride, but a source tells me there is at least one report of a Domestic Violence incident to Law Enforcement between the suspect and the victim earlier this year. It was like a battle to me going back and forth. More like a reward. Reporter some residents were in the midst of it. Gunfire that brought people outside to find this honda civic crashed after police shot the driver dead. The hamiltons saw it unfold just steps from their home. I saw him drive by. And then he didnt stop for the Police Officers and they started firing at him. There were Police Officers trying to shoot at the car. Then i heard probably 15 shots or so while i was there. Passengers on the n judah rail line have made repeated complaints on the social media site next door about the man in this photograph. They say he has been inappropriately rubbing up against women on the trains yelling obscenities at them. Police say four victims have come forward. Officers say they arrested the man today near carl and stanyan street, but at this point the suspect is only identified as a 45yearold white male. Police have identified the third of four People Killed last week in that deadly west oakland fire as 41yearold wilson, the fire burned a transitional housing building on san pablo avenue on march 27. Ed Warren Anderson and Cassandra Robertson have been previously identified. The name of the fourth victim has not been released. But Authorities Say his relatives live outside the bay area and have not been notified. Tonight we are hearing from some of the First Responders who were called to the the scene of that deadly fire. Saving people from this three story burning building on san pablo avenue the morning of march 27. We were asleep all upstairs. It was about 5 00 in the morning or so. I was asleep in my bunk. Tom came in. Reporter many from station one were familiar with the building that housed nearly 100 people. As crews approached. I could smell it. I could smell it from just blocks away as we were approaching. You could see the embers in the air. As soon as we stepped out of the truck there were people trapped in the windows. The first thing we want to do when we get to a fire is see if there are any rescues. Always want to save lives. Reporter the scene was chaotic as people inside this building was going up in flames. They actually tied sheets together like in one of those cartoons and they were trying to make like a rope to literally climb down on a street sheet. Reporter this is what they train for as they quickly leaped into action. We pulled the firescape down, tied it off and there we went on the second and third floor. First a lady reached out, was pulled over the railing. The next was a gentleman who also reached out and i pulled him. Reporter station one rescued seven people from this burning building. When theres a fire going on you want to be able to save everybody, so it is upsetting when you cant do that. It was a tragedy. We did as much as we could to save as many people as we could. Reporter altogether they saved the lives of more than 20 people that day, but knowing some people didnt make it out alive will stay with these firefighters forever. You did have a loss of life, but you look at how many people were able to see another day. Nothing special about it. Were nothing more than an usher, an usher to life. A temporary shelter for the survivors of that fire is closing tomorrow. About 70 people who were displaced following the fire moved into the temporary shelter at the oakland youth center. That number has dropped to 11 people, but the city of oakland says the youth center needs the space back and a shelter was only a temporary solution. Some residents say they have nowhere else to go. Tomorrow the business is closing and the people are homeless. They sold us out. We were sold out. The people of oakland, black people of oakland, they are trying to clean us out. The most recent happened last night when a car hit and killed a 71yearold man on monterey road in south san jose. He was the 10th pedestrian so far this year to die in san jose. Reporter he puts his used needles in a plastic container, not all addicts do. Dirty needles have become a disturbing part of the urban landscape. What we are doing now is not working. Reporter london breed is calling for a task force to try an idea never tried before, opening what she calls a safe injection site. It would allow addicts to shoot up where counselors would be close by. No potential sites have been determined. We want to look at whether or not we have tried this because it could possibly help.
