Then they told me they were looking for him. Reporter one of the k9 officers named jelle was stabbed in the face as the dog closed in near the man. They shot the man multiple times in the upper body. The suspect died at the hospital. We are not releasing their idea right now. Before we could release his name we need to contact family members to let them know what happened. Reporter officer jelle was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. The dog is doing well and expected to survive. Reporter the two officers are also fine. Police said that the suspect was a white man in his 30s. They say that he did not live in concord, but they say he was known to them and he had prior contact with police. The suspect is 73 years old booked into santa rita on battery charges. No names have been released. Investigators say that the suspect did not have a weapon and used his own hands to kill the victim. If we are going to have the massive population of folks that dont have the safety of a home and they dont have the other kind of safety providing the aspects of the police community, that they will be vulnerable to all sorts of things.
