Three People Killed today when their pickup truck drove in front of a speeding amtrak train in fresno. The truck was literally split in two. The company has been the target of lawsuits and state investigations across the entire country. Here in Alameda County theyre now being sued by the mother of the inmate who died in the jail last summer. Now with the bid still open again the county is recommending that a new monterey bays Health Care Provider called correctional medical companies gets the new contract instead. But theyre pushing back filing a formal protest. Weve been here 30 years. We know what it takes to run this contract. A company that comes in and doesnt know the nuances of delivering Health Care Service in this county has to learn a anew about many things and how to obtain Certain Services in the county. That can be expense if ive expensive. There are other companies in the running. The Alameda County board of supervisors is expected to consider all the bids and vote on the contract coming up in a june meeting. We will have complete coverage of that.
