So it appears they will be able to demonstrate their they wont be able to demonstrate their product and may have to look for new locations. Now to the race for the white house, it goes through wisconsin tomorrow where officials are predicting the highest voter turnout for a primary there in decades. Ktvus Jana Katsuyama is here now with what the date for both the republican and the credit candidates tomorrow. Reporter there is a lot at stake. Right now the polls are suggesting that the candidates currently in second place for both parties will be first in wisconsin tomorrow. Even though its far from california, bay area activists were calling wisconsin voters today, we stopped by this phone bank in oakland where many of the people were calling for the sanders campaign, they say they realize if the contest in other states remain close, the decision for both parties could come down to californias primary in june. Lets take a look at the numbers, in the republican race, the real clear politics average of recent polls shows ted cruz leading with 39 . Donald trump with nearly 35 and john kasich with 19 . In the democratic race, the average has Bernie Sanders ahead with almost 48 and Hillary Clinton with 45 . A very tight race. Experts say wisconsin is critical because it is seen as a bellwether state. Now today, sanders campaigned in wisconsin, his call for a 15 minimum wage and support for labor unions has attracted followers. Scott walker has clashed with unions there. Clinton in the meantime campaigned in new york. Deciding to look ahead to the delegate rich state where she is leading sanders right now. Clinton and sanders have agreed to meet for a debate april 14, just five days before new yorks primary. The question is, can Bernie Sanders, who has won six of the last eight caucus contests, translate this into support . And the notion that he is still winning, he is actually competing and contesting with her. Reporter in the republican race, ted cruz said the republican nomination should go to either him or donald trump. The current frontrunner, not john kasich who remains trailing behind. Donald trump who campaigned in wisconsin said he feels he will win the state. Some experts say trump might start seeing the impact of the polls, recent comments about criminalizing women who get abortions if abortion was made illegal. Wisconsin does have the elements that cruz needs to be successful and he probably will win by default. I think what we are seeing its is the beginning of a donald trump fatigue. Reporter both cruz and trump have tried to sideline john kasich who claims to have a chance for the republican convention. Republicans, 42 delegates at state tomorrow, 96 up for grabs, and the polls close at 6 00 p. M. Our time so we should have those results in time for the 10 00 ms. Tomorrow. All eyes on wisconsin. Passengers were aware of the Alaska Airlines to billion dollar buyout of the bay area based modern discount carrier, no one seemed worried that a good thing might be going away. I dont really think its going to be that much of an issue. People want to go where they want to go and they are going to pick the best option. I know virgin has really good fares, so maybe whoever it ends up being, virgin or alaska, i hope that they stay competitive for all the people. Both of them are pretty aggressive on fares. I think thats likely to survive. Reporter you see berkeleys bornstein is as an acknowledged expert in mergers and acquisitions. This is probably good news for consumers to have a fifth major competitor in the industry. Reporter passengers will expect nothing less. They are going to look for the best bang for their buck. Reporter will the brand go away . Maybe not. 30 years ago, alaska but horizon air, which it operated for the last three decades as horizon air. At some point i would think that Alaska Airlines is going to have to recognize that the name Alaska Airlines doesnt help it, when its trying to be a national carrier. So it wouldnt surprise me if the new carrier emerges as Virgin America. Reporter alaska is strong on the west coast. Virgin is a strong going across country. The merger gives these two leading carriers the opportunity for the new airline to develop a much larger route map. But that is going to take a lot of people. Given whats happening in the Airline Industry i would be very surprised if we saw many layoffs. The industry is doing well. If anything theres a lot of pressure to expand capacity because oil prices are low and they are making a lot of money. Your favorite day. Yeah. A big night for your family, well talk about that too, lots of good stuff going on, start with the giants, quarter billion dollars spent on free agents. Most of it on pitching but not to forget the hitter in the mix , and he was looking like money well spent. Joins opened the season like belize in milwaukee, the weather outside is frightful . Inside so delightful . 30 degrees and snowing in milwaukee. But they are playing in a dome so no problem at all. Here is denard span, getting this thing started, rbi single. Breaking the 2to tie in the third. Angel pagan batting ninth, bruce bochy looking like a genius with that move there, next inning they break it open a little bit, matt duffy, ticket to ride, tworun shot, four rbi on the day. The giants power show just getting started. The barrage in the eighth, denard span, five rbi on the day. Three of them on that swing. Joe panic, next better backs that up, he loses it to write. And is it is buster, the very next hitter. El centro right there, first ever for the giants, one, two, three. Three home runs, you see the dugout loving it. First time ever the giants have gone three in a row on property on opening day. Madison baumgartner, five innings, good enough, giving up three runs does get the victory. Food poisoning, whenever those words have anything to do with describing your Opening Night, it doesnt bode well. In a game that looked way too much like last year when the as were the worst Fielding Team in the in the league and lost 35 one run games, the as honored Dave Henderson and Tony Phillips with a moment of silence. Phillips passed away during the offseason. Rich hill on the mound, sonny gray was out ill with a stomach problem. All of the scoring weirdly enough started in the third, adam eaton with a shot to center. Billy burns tracks it down, austin action jackson is in, 1 0. Later melky cabrera, right back up the middle. Should be an out but marcus simeon, bad throw. Cant come up with it, two runs scored. And it is 40. Bottom of the third, jed lowrie slicing to write. Thats going to score a couple runs. Marcus simeon, they cut it to 4 2. Another one later, 43. The tying run potentially, alonso looks like its going to get through, and not to be. Brett lowrie, former teammate of theirs, the last out, two errors by the as. There is brett lawrie right there, not looking happy with the way things turned out. Here is bob melvin. We cant do that. We learned that last year, we learned this spring. And in close games, it typically ends up being a play or two defensively that you should make and we talked about the routine plays. And one in the corner with the pick off and then we dont execute the one play that cost us the game. The ncaa Basketball Championship decided tonight at first glance, North Carolina versus villanova, no local angle. But we didnt have to dig deep to learn that coach jay wright is none other than our own Frank Somervilles wifes brother. Hence all the screaming tonight in our newsroom. Actually, pretty calm. Absolutely sensational finish. Jay wright taking it all in, if you didnt see it, the tar heels down, 10 seconds left. Marcus paige with an incredible offbalance shot take a look at again. Somehow gets his body together to nail it. Michael jordan, former tar heel, is loving it. And what would jay wright ask about Frank Somerville right there . What do you do . Midcourt, jenkins, for the championship, good Villanova Villanova the National Champions jenkins hitting the winner. Yeah, beautiful. His first ever National Championship. Villanova is number 1 against a lot of odds. I dont think a lot of people picked them. Yeah. The president sure didnt. [ laughter ] but frank did all the way. Rumors may swirl, until kingdom come but as of this moment, Colin Kaepernick is still a 49er. And a very well compensated one at that. Their First Official offseason workouts and kaepernick will pick up 400,000. Added to the base salary of 11. 9 million if he participates in 90 of the off season program. So of course he showed up, whether or not he can do anything to convince the niners to keep him around or make him want they schwandt to stay remains to be seen. Aldon smith signed a twoyear deal with the raiders, congratulations. Nice. That was an incredible game. A very good coach. My wife is very proud. I bet. She should be. Thank you.
