The shooting was reported shortly before 7 00 tonight in valejo. It is about a block away from the cedar city exit. This is a live look right now at the crime scene where the officers found a 22yearold man lying in a front yard suffering from multiple gunshots. He was pronounced dead just a few minutes after the paramedics arrived. Two gunshots. Then the dogs jumped up and started barking. I went out to look, did not see anything. Then, 3 minutes later the police were here. Our investigators are in at the moment they are processing statements as we speak and we are hopeful we will be able to develop leads around here shortly. Now, the victims name has not been released. So far, the police have not released a description of the shooter or discussed a motive. This is the first homicide of the year. Ironically the latest violence here comes on the same night of a rally in that city. Against violence on the streets. We are tired of it. We are ready for it to end and stop. We should not be losing our Young Children to gun violence on the streets. Our innocent children. Now, the rally was organized by a mother of a 21yearold who was found shot to death inside of her car last august. This case is still unsolved. Mothers from richmond, oakland and even sacramento joined in tonights rally asking for an end to the socalled code of silence that keeps witnesses to these crimes from coming forward. But the station closed while the Police Worked overnight to interview witnesses. The killer was purposeful in terms of waiting medical we got to west aoft land, firing the shots and getting off of the train. And slipped into the crowd escaping the police for now. A b. A. R. T spokesperson said there are cameras that the investigators will review but declined to talk about the shooting on camera today. Though the victim appears to have been targeted that is not comfort. The case began in march when denise said she was blindfolded and kidnapped before being released hundreds of miles away near her familys home. They accuse her and her boyfriend of making it up. It was not until several months later that the fbi said it really happened that harvard grad targeted the couple. In april, a man was found in his home killed by his older Brothers Best friend. William sholtz who was staying with the victims family. In july, the Police Sergeant was shot dead during a traffic stop.
