Many of those in the crowd here in oakland were angered over that incident in baltimore and said they think that oakland is no different. We have a similar situation. Others rose to make a protest against police killings. However the buses were apparently rerouted and never showed up at the b. A. R. T. Station. In San Francisco. Hundreds of people marched from civic center to the mission district. This group didnt have one cause they rallied for Immigration Reform and higher pay as well as Police Brutality and black lives matter. They said one message is no more important than any other and that they are all connected. In san jose, 150 people gathered for a peaceful may day march and rally. The crowd gathered at our lady of Guadalupe Church then walked to city hall. People called for an end to laws that separate families. The prosecutor in baltimore maryland wasted no time in filing criminal charges against all Six Police Officers involved in the controversial arrest of freddie gray. There were some frightening moments today for passengers on board a flight from maui headed to oakland. Their plane was forced to return to hawaii and made what was described as a hard landing. The city of vacaville has agreed to settle a lawsuit with a man. The San Francisco chronicle reports the settlement is for 1. 3 million. Vacaville police say 24year old Kendall Walker led them on a chase then charged at officers with a hammer and a knife. His family argued in a lawsuit that he had no weapon in his hands and didnt do anything threatening or that would justify deadly force. Walkers child will get half of the money, his parents will get the other half. Federal prosecutors today dropped charges against the hunter accused of starting the rim fire that burned part of Yosemite National park back in 2013. It was a huge fire. The decision following the deaths of two key witnesses one died in a workplace accident, the other died of a heart attack. Prosecutors say they dont believe they can prove their case without the testimony of those two witnesses. The rim fire burned 400 square miles over a two month period and caused 125 million in damage. Some of the people affected by the rim fire say the suspect in their opinion is already paying a steep price even though the charges against him have now been dropped.
