Reporter this weekends violence was the talk of downtown campbell tonight. You just dont expect that from a small little, area. Thats kind of scary now. Reporter this after police say an innocent couple heading home after a night out had been shot multiple times around 12 30 sunday morning at this parking lot behind the first branch bank across from the prune yard shopping center. Me and my friends just went downtown. We walked from my apartment. Before we went out we see a crime over here which is even scarying. Reporter the victim a diving instructor and his girlfriend were seen on this photo on social media just two hours before they were shot. The young woman was walking in a parking lot, her boyfriend in the car when she was approached by a gunman who demanded her money. During that confrontation, the male victim arrived and a struggle ensued. After that both of them were shot. Reporter a few moments later, the same suspects robbed a woman at campbell right next to a popular hang out. A few streets down. I never heard of anything happening like that. That it happened so close to where we are is scary. This concerns us a lot. Two incidents within two minutes from each other involving guns. The initial indication appears they are related. Same suspect or suspects. Reporter and we want to show you a sketch that police released. Police tell us that this is a sketch they describe the gunman as latino man in his 20s or 30s between 58 and 510 tall with a thin to medium build. Crews plan to be Real Estate Agents who helped close to deal say theyve seen a huge demand for property in that area fueled in part by the twitter headquarters. A dangerous rescue operation is now waiting on the next high tide to try to refloat a fishing boat that ran aground and is now stuck in the surf. It really was an incredible sight here tonight. I was even holding my breath as that diver was fighting wave after wave tonight. Crews moved Big Equipment out to the water. From shore the 50foot paloma seems large enough to reach out and touch but even with the low tide, waves kept crashing in. A dive with the Salvage Company prepared to head out and tie a line. Once he reached the boat he balanced on the starboard side anchoring the line then as crews strained up the rope to pull him back to shore. I was hanging on to dear life for sure. And thanks to my crew they brought me in on a lifeline. Reporter the hope is to pull it on to shore once the rip goes down. Its a touch and go thing. Reporter the call for help came early this morning. Crew from another boat say it is palomas captain called about 3 45 a. M. Saying his boat was taking on water and he was going to try to swim ashore with a life vest. The crew arrived to find debris on the beach, including beer cans but no sign of the captain. Tonight the main concern is keeping the boat from drifting away from morning when they will use the cables and high tide to try to pull the wreckage out of the surf. Its not that easy and theres a sand bar now build up on the front of it but on the backside of it its about 12 feet deep. Reporter the fuel is already leaking out of the boat. You can smell it from here on shore. That is going to be their First Priority because the boat has the capacity of 400gallons they dont want any more to leak out before that boat comes apart. They do plan to be out here at 6 00 a. M. As the first light of day to try to get that boat pulled back as for the captain, well police and the coast guard theyre both still trying to locate that captain who was on the boat timothy librand. A husband and wife from san ramon died over the weekend in a boating accident in lake tahoe. Their boat slammed right into a dock. New information from amber lee. The couple was killed when their boat crashed into a dock. The El Dorado CountySheriffs Office says the boat was speeding and the hull of the vessel was split in half. Morris ran away with money and other items after a male resident returned to the home. Hes a convicted felon and is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow. Tonight two investigates uncovering a history of accidents on fair rides across Southern California. Last year, a company was fined more than a million dollars. And that prompted us to investigate. Thats when he panicked and got scared. Reporter 6yearold Ruben Castillo died when he fell from the giant wheel operated from butler amusements at the san joaquin fair. Butler was not cite or fined for that injury. But it appears more than 30 times than any other operator. The division of Occupational Safety and health found a chain was hanging in the path of an oncoming train. Two people suffered bumps on their heads. On the evolution ride a womans thumb crushed. Investigators said the operator slammed the outside cage down while they were loading the ride. On the spin out the state says one of the rides four outriggers has been removed by the ride operators and woodblocking was used instead. Later causing a portion of the attraction to hit the deck. Reporter out of all the accidents and injuries, state inspectors say that you should check if the ride has been inspected before you led your children ride. A major clean up is under way after torrential rains triggered mud slides. Several feet of mud flowed through the mountains killing one man. More than 30 homes were damaged and many cars are still stranded. Crews worked to free hundreds of children who were trapped at a church camp surrounded by mud and rocks.
