A firefighter clearing the fire lane was injured tonight. When a calfire bulldozer overturned. A medical helicopter had to come in and rescue that firefighter who suffered minor injuries. Calfire just updated the fire. Its only 30 contained. Calfire lifted evacuations just two hours ago for people who live around highway 128. The campgrounds in that area are still closed. Calfire is working to try to prevent that fire though from spreading and tonight those crews had some help from bay area firefighters. Ktvus Cristina Rendon was at the fire scene and she explains the challenge for firefighters hoping to enjoy the weekend. Reporter firefighters dropping by air is key to helping fire crews fighting the fire. The closure of state highway 38 at Pleasant Valley road forced boaters to turn around friday afternoon. It has caused two other fire crews to join the fight. Mandatory evacuations are main in effect. Reporter the amount of fire activity theyve seen to date has increased by 70 compared to last year making it all that important to stop these fires quickly. Reporting in yolo county, Cristina Rendon, ktvu channel 2 news. Fire crews made progress on another big fire near lake bariesta. Fire crews report that the bus fire is now 48 contained. Thats up from 80 just this afternoon. The fire began last tuesday and had burned 4,700 acres. And road closures have been lifted. The cause of that fire is under investigation. Their conditions are unknown at this hour. This morning, in broad daylight this gas station was a crime scene after two motorcycle groups opened fire.
