The saturated soil gave way just beneath the roadway, taking part of the asphalt, and leaving a stretch of guardrail dangling beneath the cliff. It happened around noon in livermore. A woman from tracy said the truck hit a pothole and she lost control. Her truck actually flipped several times, and landed in the opposite lane. Fortunately, the woman suffered only minor injuries. The chp said she may have been driving a little too fast. The Highway Patrol also respond today a crash this morning. The crash shut down northbound lanes for more than an hour, southbound lanes were backed up all the way to san rafael. Three people suffered minor injuries. This is the deal aimed at ensuring the department finally delivers on the reforms. The Oakland Police department will avoid a full federal takeover, but will lose some independence if a federal judge approves the agreement announced today. Authorities say he was taken into custody at an Upscale Hotel in guatemala did he, after he formally requested an asylum. Still apple stock is up more than 100 since the start of the year. Meantime, citigroup announced plans to cut 11,000 jobs, or 4 of its workforce. The company says the cuts will save more than 1 billion a year. The bulk of the jobs are in global operations. It is unclear how many jobs will be lost here in the United States. A new report shows at least a dozen california lawmakers repaired, or upgraded their state vehicles at taxpayer expense just before pieing them as their personal vehicles. Reporter lawmakers were given a deadline to turn in their state vehicles. According to the associated press, some lawmakers made thousands of dollars in repairs to cars they would soon own again. Bob dutten spent almost 6,000 of taxpayer money to repair his chevy tahoe. All in the months before the state sold his suv, which dutten bought back. Attempts to reach former senator dutten failed, but hes quoted as saying the car needed work as it approached 100,000. Reporter he is not alone, others also spent thousands of dollars to fix their cars. Senator artesia had a bill for nearly 2,400 in the weeks approximate before he bought it. Assemblyman hall of compton racked up more than 2,400 before the state sold his car, and then he bought it back. Critics say california was long overdue ending this program. The only state in the country that had this program finally ended the program. Reporter its impossible to know if a lawmaker benefited from last minute repairs, because the repairs could have driven up the price of that car at auction. San Francisco Police showed off some 900 electronic gates that were recovered when they busted an auto burglary ring. Police say all of the stolen items are worth about a half million dollars. The suspects face a number of charges, including receiving stolen property. A 26yearold man, and a 15 yearold teenager appeared in court today to face charges in a series of crimes, including homicide, armed robbery, and the attempted murder of a police officer. This is the first time they were in court together. Both are being tried as adults. Neither entered a plea today in connection with the crimes which happened on november 16 and took the life of a 22year old man from campbell. He was shot and killed during a carjacking. The Santa Clara County District Attorneys Office has determined a San Jose Police officer was justified when he shot and killed a man who was holding a girl at gunpoint. The 42yearold was fatally shot last january. Police say lee had kidnapped an 11yearold girl and used her as a shield in a stand offwith police. The girl was unharmed. The victim is identified as pamela mullins. No arrests have been made at this point. This is berkelys fourth homicide of the year. Tonight, the family of a new york man who was pushed to his death from a subway platform in manhattan is questioning why no one came to his aid. A homeless man has been arrested and charged with murder for allegedly pushing the man onto the tracks. Han was struck and killed by a train. Police say the two men argued before han was pushed onto the tracks. The photographer did not go to help, but defended himself saying he couldnt have reached the man in time. He says no one else on the platform helped han, and that even some people ran away. The chp now has suspects under arrest with the string of armed robberies at the carquinez toll booth. In february, we first report the at least two toll workers had been robbed on the bridge. Protesters set fire to the house of the muslim brotherhood. Reporter but now managers of this shelter and five others in Santa Clara County hope a new offer will convince someone to take dogs like her home for good.
