You saw it unfold on the morning news and mornings on 2. 880 in both directions moving nicely. But for several hours in san leandro, 880 was pretty much a parking lot. What would normally be a typically light commute on 880 early this morning turned out to be nothing but. He hit that Center Divide and just launched, you know, over it and broke pieces of concrete and everything out and then i hear him hit the sound wall i believe it was the sound wall or building down there and i hear the impact, kaboom and im like oh, god. Please, no, no, no. Reporter the chp says the crash happened near the Marina Boulevard exit shortly after 00 this morning. Officers say the driver of an suv going southbound somehow lost control. The driver of a big rig traveling behind it also lost control, tried to swerve out of the way but crashed through the Center Divide and blocked traffic and created a mess on the northbound side. There were chunks of concrete, oil slicks, we had our First Responders out there trying to make sure the roads were safe. Reporter 11 cars total in the pileup. Nine people injured. That included three critically. One person was taken from the scene and ontario this lifeflight helicopter that landed and onto this lifeflight helicopter that landed on 880. Investigators are looking onto reports of another car that started a crash. Were looking into that. A lot of things people will see something this they believe is suspicious. If you do, we encourage you to call 911 and report it. Reporter 880 was closed in both directions for several hours because of the massive cleanup and for the investigation. It wasnt just 880. 238 was brought to a standstill at drivers were left sitting in their cars or standing on the freeway for several hours. Ive been here for well, since about a quarter to 4 00. Two and a half hours. Almost three and a half. And theres no sense in getting excited about it. Cant get excited about it. Just relax and go with the flow. Reporter the cause of the crash remains under investigation. 880 was slowly reopened. And caltrans crews had to pick up the mess on the roadway. That took several hours this morning. San Francisco Police are looking for a two suspects in the shooting of a victim during an attempted robbery this morning. It happened just before 8 00 a. M. On kamelia avenue in the ing elside district. Police say the victim was waiting for a right outside a home when he was confronted by the suspects. He was approached by two africanamerican males who attempted to rob him and then ended up shooting him. Him. The victim is being treated for nonlife injuriesant sf general. Were getting a look at Surveillance Video that shows a Deadly Police shooting in richmond early yesterday morning outside of uncle sams liquors. The video offers a limited view of a scuffle between an officer and 24yearold richard perez. Police say the store clerk called for help because perez was drunk and belligerent. When officers arrived, investigators say he tried to grab the officers gun. Thats when he was shot three times. The suspect attacked the officer and physically grabbed his gun. The officer was able to stand up and retreat and the suspect came after him and the officer fired his weapon. The clerk who witnessed much of what happened claims perez never reached for the officers gun during that fight. Friends and family have left candles and notes outside of the store where the shooting happened. Perez is the first person to be killed by Richmond Police in seven years. There are new developments in the troubling nfl Domestic Violence scandal. Commissioner Roger Goodell announced a few hours ago that the league has fired four women to shape new policies on Domestic Violence and sexual assault. Anna was promoted to Vice President of social responsibility. They will be assisted by three experts related to Domestic Violence. There are concerns about wind in El Dorado County as firefighters struggle to contain a wildfire threatening hundreds of homes. The king fire is burning 60 miles east of sacramento and is moving in a northeast direction. The fire started saturday and has mushroomed to 3900 acres. Hundred of people have been evacuated. And school has also been canceled today. Were just ready. Were prepareed. Reducing the fuel load. Cutting down trees, making a control line. Firefighters are expecting high temperatures and increased winds this afternoon. The fire is only 10 contained. Firefighters are battling a fastmoving fire in Madera County near Yosemite National park. That fire started in the town of oak hurst near bass lake. So far its burned 320 acres and 21 homes. Ten of them are destroyed. About 1,000 people have been told to evacuate. And 500 homes are still threatened. Oakland building inspectors today will continue their investigation of the sudden collapse of a deck at an Oakland Hills home that injured nine people. And i looked down and you a saw and saw a shark. Reporter he was uninjured but showed the spot where a bite was taken out of his board. The attack was enough to close the beach for five days. Neighbors decided not to close Seabright Beach because the shark didnt attack a person. They have stepped up patrols and are advising visitors not to go in the water. Dont want to get in the water. The system here moves in, brings us cooler air. The onshore breeze and the marine layer. Still very, very mild. I should say or not as thick as we as we typically see it but its not bad at all. Its the system here behind this one moving into the northwest portions of the areas Like Washington and oregon today. That will eventually lead us to the possibility of maybe some rain.
