A big rig accident has the westbound lanes of the san mateo bridge at a standstill. Ktvus janine de la vega joins us live from foster city where she found things could be rough for quite some time. Janine . Reporter john, right now, the westbound lanes of highway 92 are closed all the way to foster city boulevard. Thats just about a mile. Now, they were supposed to open up the number three lane to traffic. That hasnt happened. What they are doing, i do want to show you, they are diverting traffic here onto the right shoulder and my photographer is walking over here across the freeway at highway 92 to show just how much it is backed up. Again, they are trying to get all of these cars off the freeway and thats because caltrans and cleanup crews are here dealing with this fuel spill. The chp says this accident happened during the morning commute around 9 00, an oil tanker traveling in the westbound lanes crashed into slow moving traffic in front of them. It overturned and spilled diesel on the freeway. It also caused a Chain Reaction and involved five other vehicles including another big rig. Traffic in the westbound lanes of the san mateo bridge was at a standstill. Officers say the big rig driver was likely traveling about 50 miles an hour when he crashed into the traffic that was moving 5 to 10 miles an hour in front of him. At this time, we dont have any statements from the driver. However, it appears that traffic was slowing down and he he collided with the vehicles at a high rate of speed, then theres a possibility he was not paying attention. Reporter only the driver of the big rig was sent to the hospital with minor injuries. Officers have been spendth the last several hours spending the last several hours diverting traffic on the westbound lanes. They prevented vehicles from coming on the bridge from the east bay and now thats causing there to be a lot more traffic on 88 en 880 since the san mateo bridge is closed. People are using 880 as an alternate route. Caltrans is working to clean up the oil spill. They want to make sure the roads are not slick. They are anticipating in about 30 to 40 minutes that they will open up the number three lane here in the westbound lanes of highway 92. At you are looking, these are all cars traveling on the right shoulder trying to get them off the freeway at the foster city boulevard exit. Marin countys stint coroner confirmed Robin Williams committed suicide by hanging himself. The autopsy was completed a few hours ago. Investigators said williams was found in the bedroom of his tiburon home yesterday around noon with a belt around his neck. The other end of the belt was wedged into a doorjamb. The assistant coroner said williamss personal assistant found him dead and called for help. The autopsy revealed he had several cuts on his left wrist and a knife was found nearby. Now, williams had struggled with drug and alcohol abuse and had recently checked himself into a rehab facility. Investigators say at this point, they arent sure if he was under the influence when he took his own life. Toxicology testing listen conducted to determine if any Chemical Substances were in mr. Williamss system at time of his death. At that time well have a determination as to whether there were signs that he was under the influence of any substance. Reporter williams was last seen alive late sunday night by his wife at their home. Investigators say she went to bed in a different room than him. She left in the morning assuming he was still asleep in his bedroom. Sheriffs investigators would not comment this morning on whether williams left a suicide note there at the home. But they did say that williams had been seeking treatment for depression shortly before his death. It will take another two, to three results to get the results of the toxicology results and several more weeks before the results of this Death Investigation have finalized. There are almost 1900 untested rape kits in the county. Across the nation as many as 500,000 kits are untested mostly due to a backlog at federal labs. The Pilot Project eliminates the need for federal testing and allows for dna testing by the Oakland Police lab. The victim went to the lab only to have samples sit on the shelf and their case has never been fully investigated or prosecuted because of administrative issue that only adds to the victims pain and suffering. Honda is pushing for a holdy change that would allow policy change that would allow for federal funding to help process all of those kits. Police in richmond are searching for a man they say tried to run over officers in his car last night. It happened on mcdonald avenue and Second Street around 9 30. Police say the man tried to kick open the door of an apartment complex and then ram his car into them. Police say the man got away. The Coroners Office has released the names of two women found dead inside a hotel on sunday. The bodies of july and michelle were discovered at the easy 8 motel in san jose. Police say the bodies had been there for at least a few days. No word on a cause of death. But detectives say there were no obvious signs of foul play. A baby girl is safe and back at home after an attempted abduction at a South Bay Hospital. Officials at oconeor say hospital carried a newborn and way was trying to to walk to walk out. He set off alarms and was arrested. Electronic devices are put on infants after they are born.
