Thanks for joining us in this special edition of news. The father of a dodgers fan who was stabbed to death at at t park plans to make a public plea. This comes after the man who was arrested for the stabbing was released for lack of evidence. The father of dodgers fan Jonathan Denver is urging witnesses to come forward who saw the fight that left his son dead. He plans to make a public request for information or video of the stabbing. Other family members are expected to travel from la to show their support. Police believe 21yearold Michael Montgomery killed denver, but he was released from jail after the District Attorney said he doesnt have enough evidence to charge him. Police say this group of dodgers fans got into an argument with a group of giants fans and the trash talking led to a fight. Montgomerys father says his son pulled a knife to protect himself after denver hit him with a chair, but denvers family says this stabbing was not selfdefense. None of them were fighters. They were going to get into their vehicle. A giants fan made a comment. Excepts where exchanged and an altercation broke out. The District Attorney says police still need to interview any independent witnesses who saw the fight before a solid case can be made. In the meantime, the man accused of stabbing this fan to death remains a free man. Alex savage, ktvu news. A Good Samaritan was stabbed while trying to help someone. He saw a group of people fighting here high street. He pulled over and tried to help but the group turned on him. He is being treated for multiple stab wounds. Police say two men who tried to rob a Bay Area Television news crew at gunpoint are now behind bars in San Francisco. The confrontation took place around 8 00 last night. Armed men were trying to arm a kron4 reporters when the Security Guard opened fire. One of the suspects was wounded in the leg. The news crew was not hurt. Police identified the robbery suspects as Armani Mcfarland and john woods. Both are 19 years old. Pge says it is making progress on a power outage that affected 2,000 customers in west oakland. 166 customers are still without power. The outage started at 5 30 this afternoon with a downed power line. A crew is on the scene to repair that line. Also in oakland, the focus today was on two high profile murder cases that remain unsolved. Patti lee talked with those at the peace stand in who tell her gun violence has become a disease. Reporter both victims were apparently in the wrg place at the wrong time. An explanation this group says has too common and accepted. People turn a blind eye to it. It becomes nor mall. Its a plague, a disease. Reporter every week, leroy joins other volunteers to take a stand. We are just screaming out for help. This is what we do every saturday. We are screaming out. These volunteers know that the two victims they are honoring today were part of two high profile homicide cases in the district that have not yet been solved. They believe the antisnitching culture of the streets is part of the problem. Get out and say something. The majority of the money raised here this weekend will stay in the bay area which is really nice for people to know the money they worked so hard to raise is having an effect right at home. Reporter Breast Cancer is the second most fatal cause of death in women. Moncel williams is a three year Breast Cancer survivor.
