Scott. Cara lui joins us live from the scene. Reporter well, ken, right now there is a restoration crew working here at the scene. Also, firefighters have been escorting some of the residents back into the burned Apartment Unit so they can retrieve some of their things. Firefighters say when they got here just before 1 30 this afternoon, three Apartment Buildings were on fire. Investigators say they believe the fire started in the corner building here at mcallister and scott, then spread quickly to two other buildings on either side. We spoke with one of the residents home with their grandson at the time. She said firefighters rang her door to let her know she needed to evacuate. I saw flames coming up everywhere up there. They came and knocked my windows out. We were running downstairs. We saw the fire in the den next to the living room. Reporter firefighters say all the residents were able to make it out of their homes unhurt, but one firefighter did have to be taken to the hospital for a leg injury and exhaustion. We are told he is expected to be okay. They also tell us about 10 units were damaged by fire and about 25 people were displaced. The red cross is here at the scene helping many of them find places to stay tonight. Firefighters also tell us right now the cause of this fire is under investigation, but all indications are that this fire was accidental. Ken . Cara lui, live in the city. Thank you. The alamo square fire happened just days after this massive fouralarm fire in the mission district. One person died, six others were injured. As many as 50 people were displaced. Tonight, theres a fundraiser at docs clock bar on mission near 22nd street tonight. Its located right by the Apartment Building that was destroyed. Until 2 00 a. M. , docs clock will be collecting everything from goods to monetary donations. Now to new developments in a gruesome case involving human body parts found in a suitcase in San Francisco. Police have made an arrest. Cristina rendon is live outside the San Francisco county jail, where the suspect remains at this hour. Reporter well, Police Believe mark andrews is behind this grisly crime. His arrest is a Major Development in this case, but the mystery remains as to the id fix of that dismembered body. An anonymous tip to police about the suspects whereabouts. Hours later, andrews was escorted out of a building in the tenderloin, with a white sheet over his head and face friday night. By saturday morning, he was facing a murder charge in connection with the body parts first discovered in a suitcase earlier this week. More remains were later found in a nearby crash can. He was booked on murder, so our investigators were able to determine enough evidence. Its believed he was responsible for the murder of the individual. Reporter a man named mark heber was also detained for questioning, but was released. We caught up with him outside his home. He says andrews is a good friend who was visiting him. He was here to spend time and they say that he was here. He didnt do it. Reporter the medical examiner says the victim is a lightskinned man, but it doesnt rule out the possibility that the body parts only belong to one victim, a thought that has the community shaken. What happened was disgusting. Reporter andrews has had contact with Law Enforcement in San Francisco before and according to a published report, he also has a criminal history in montana for suspected drug possession, theft and burglary. But heber firmly believes police have the wrong man. He treated me like a friend. He hes innocent . Yeah. Yes, i firmly believe im pretty sure he was here wednesday. He wasnt the one. Reporter police are still investigating this case and they are hoping to learn more information about a possible motive for the murders in coming days. Heather . The Islamic State today released a video today, purportedly showing the killing of kenji goto. The japanese called the killing an atrocious act of terrorism. I think of the pain of the family, i dont have any words. The government did all that we could, but it is very regretful result. The video comes two days after the group had set a deadline for jordan to release a convicted wouldbe suicide bomber in exchange for gotos freedom. The Islamic State also threatened to kill an islamic pilot. His fate is unknown tonight. Goto had gone to syria last year, reportedly to help another japanese hostage. A week ago, the Islamic State released a picture showing goto holding the beheaded body of that hostage. The daughter of Whitney Houston is reportedly in Critical Condition after being found unresponsive in her home in roswell, georgia. Like her mothers death almost three years ago, the younger brown was also found in a bathtub. Police are investigate got the incident. The bay area now has more than a dozen cases of measles, including three new cases. So far, the source of the third case in San Mateo County is unknown. Two unvaccinated siblings in marin county traced their exposure to the outbreak at disneyland in december. California now has more than 90 people with measles. The disease has spread to 14 states, including the entire west coast and arizona. I think most parents think measles is gone. Its forgotten, but not gone. The outbreaks were seeing this year are a reminder that measles is a plane ride away. The cdc advises parents to have their children vaccinated for measles when they are one year old, with a second shot between the ages of four and six. Anyone who thinks they have been exposed to measles should avoid going out in public or wear a breathing mask. The Ucsf Medical Center at mission bay is set to open tomorrow. The 878,000square foot facility is actually three different hospitals, including a Childrens Hospital and a cancer center. About 200 patients will be transferred to the new facility tomorrow, from ucsfs other locations. The hospital will have the Worlds Largest fleet of mobile robots that are programmed to transport items such as meals, medications, and lab specimens. Federal hospitals and blue shield of california have reached an agreement in the dispute that could have affected the Health Coverage of 280,000 californians. The Sticking Point for the contract included rates and a move by sutter to settle legal disputes through arbitration. Blue shield said the details of this twoyear deal are confidential. Sutter said there would not be a lapse in coverage for blue shield customers with ppo, hmo, or cover california policies. Both organizations offered apologies to customers over the threat of losing access to their regular doctors. Faulty air bags and a fix that often didnt work has led to another recall of more than 2 million toyota, chrysler and honda vehicles. The trouble is with air bags that deploy inadvertently. While the cars were recalled before, the national Highway Traffic Safety Administration said today the original fix worked only 85 of the time. About a million toyota and honda vehicles named in the new recalls are also subject to another recall in connection to defective air bags made by Takata Corporation of japan. Those air bags can deploy with enough force to cause injury or even death. At least five deaths and dozens of injuries have been linked to the takata air bags. The new recalls cover 2. 12 million acura mdx, dodge viper, Jeep Grand Cherokee liberty, jeep liberty, Toyota Avalon models made from 20022004. Happening now, zombie fans are invading San Francisco.
